Pinnacle Equine Hospital positions itself as a premier destination for horse owners in Knoxville and the surrounding region, offering expert and compassionate care.
The environment at Pinnacle Equine Hospital is implicitly characterized by the nature of equine veterinary practice. Unlike small animal clinics, an equine hospital requires specialized facilities capable of accommodating large animals, including spacious examination areas, padded recovery stalls, and often dedicated surgical suites for horses. The reviews suggest a highly professional and caring atmosphere, where staff are adept at handling horses and interacting with owners. The address on Ball Road indicates a location that might offer ample space for an equine facility, including turnout areas or barns, which are common for such hospitals. The emphasis on friendliness and caring from the staff contributes to a reassuring environment for both the horses, who can be sensitive to their surroundings, and their owners, who are often deeply invested in their equines' well-being.
As a specialized "Pet Hospital" for equines, Pinnacle Equine Hospital offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services tailored specifically for horses. These services typically include, but are not limited to:
- Preventative Health Care: This is foundational for equine health and includes routine vaccinations, deworming programs, Coggins testing (for Equine Infectious Anemia), and regular wellness examinations.
- Lameness Examinations: A critical area of equine veterinary medicine, involving detailed assessments to diagnose and treat issues affecting a horse's gait and performance. This often utilizes advanced diagnostics like radiography and ultrasound.
- Dentistry: Specialized equine dental care, including routine floating (filing teeth), extractions, and management of dental abnormalities, which are crucial for a horse's digestion and overall health.
- Reproductive Services: For breeding operations, this can include mare and foal care, artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis, and management of breeding soundness.
- Internal Medicine: Diagnosis and treatment of various internal diseases, such as colic, respiratory issues, and metabolic disorders.
- Surgical Procedures: Performing a range of equine surgeries, from routine procedures to more complex interventions, requiring specialized equipment and experienced surgical teams.
- Emergency and Urgent Care: The reviews highlight their ability to respond to emergencies and provide care "on short notice," indicating a robust emergency service for critical equine health issues.
- Pre-Purchase Examinations: Comprehensive evaluations for potential horse buyers to assess the animal's health and soundness before a purchase.
- Diagnostic Imaging: Utilizing advanced imaging modalities like digital radiography, ultrasound, and potentially MRI or scintigraphy for precise diagnosis.
- Ophthalmology: Diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions specific to horses.
The hospital also likely offers goods for sale relevant to equine health, such as specialized feeds, supplements, medications, and equine care products, further consolidating its role as a comprehensive resource for horse owners.

Jan 21, 2025 · maddie gidichPinnacle Equine Hospital was so accommodating when I called to schedule a PPE for a horse I was driving fours hours to see!! From my first interaction with Mary Beth over the phone, to speaking to Dr. Hannah, to Allie assisting Dr. Hannah- my experience was nothing but first class. Kind, down-to-earth, honest, punctual, patient are some of the words that came to my mind regarding my experience. Thank you Mary Beth, Dr. Hannah, and Allie for all of your help!!
Mar 23, 2023 · Karina WBooked full for months ? That's insane . If you call they never call back or email . I would avoid this practice because being they are picky on who they want to see . I just needed shots and coggins and was an existing client and needed everything done before I move away from area and out of their service area and was told " sorry we are booked for MONTHS" and not even willing to schedule for a month or two out as I'm not urgent . Will find someone else who wants my business .
