The last review I gave was 5 stars but that was long before yesterday when I called begging for my dog to be seen and was refused because the doctors didn't want to take the time and now my dog is dead. I don't know if they could've saved her or not I'll never know. They've always been so good to every dog I've ever had but yesterday they didn't care and now I've lost my baby, my best friend. She didn't deserve to die like she did but at least she died in my arms. All I ask is that they do better so this never happens to anyone else.

Welcome to Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic

For pet owners in Johnson City, Tennessee, Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic, located at 1264 Milligan Hwy, Johnson City, TN 37601, is a local Pet Hospital that can be contacted at (423) 926-6091 or +1 423-926-6091. To provide a detailed introduction, we will objectively analyze the information available from recent customer reviews to understand the environment, services, and features of this clinic. It's important to note that the provided feedback includes both a deeply negative experience and a very positive one, offering a mixed perspective.

Based on the contrasting reviews, it's challenging to definitively describe the typical environment of Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic. One review praises the past care received for multiple pets over time, suggesting a generally positive and reliable environment historically. However, the other review details a distressing experience of being allegedly refused emergency care, which resulted in the pet's death. This indicates that while some clients may experience a caring environment, there might be instances where the perceived level of care falls drastically short, particularly in urgent situations. The positive review highlights a kind, considerate, and informative approach towards a client and their child bringing in a sick kitten, suggesting that under certain circumstances, the clinic provides a supportive atmosphere.

The services offered at Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic, as inferred from the reviews, appear to include:

  • General Care: As suggested by the positive long-term experience of one reviewer with multiple pets.
  • Treatment of Illnesses: Evidenced by the successful treatment of an upper respiratory and eye infection in a kitten, including the prescription of oral antibiotics, antibacterial eye cream, and an oral steroid.
  • Deworming: Performed on the kitten brought in for care.
  • Blood Tests: A small blood sample was taken from the kitten to test for feline leukemia.
  • Consultations and Information: The staff is described as informative, explaining the kitten's condition and treatment plan to the owner and their child.
  • Guidance on Preventative Care: Advice was given against administering vaccinations while the kitten was sick.
  • Potentially Emergency Care: While one reviewer felt refused in an emergency, the fact that they called seeking immediate attention implies that the clinic might typically handle urgent cases, though the outcome in this instance was negative.

These points suggest that Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic offers a range of common veterinary services, including diagnostics, treatments for illnesses, and preventative care measures.

Several features of Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic can be identified from the customer feedback, again presenting a mixed view:

  • Past Positive Care: One reviewer with a history of bringing multiple pets to the clinic previously rated their service highly.
  • Kind and Considerate Staff (in some instances): The staff is described as kind and considerate in their interaction with the client and child who brought in the sick kitten.
  • Informative Approach: They took the time to explain the kitten's condition and treatment.
  • Potential Lack of Urgency/Availability (in emergencies): One customer felt their plea for emergency care was dismissed, with severe consequences.
  • Variable Perceived Care: The stark contrast between the two reviews suggests that the level of care might not be consistently perceived as excellent by all clients, especially in urgent situations.

There is no promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. Therefore, we cannot comment on any current specials or offers from Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic.

For local users in Johnson City, TN, considering Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic as a Pet Hospital, it is crucial to acknowledge the conflicting experiences reported by recent customers. While one review praises the kindness, consideration, and informative approach of the clinic, particularly in treating a sick kitten, the other recounts a deeply upsetting experience of alleged refusal of emergency care leading to the pet's death. This latter review urges the clinic to improve their responsiveness in urgent situations.

Prospective clients might find value in the detailed and positive experience shared regarding the care of the kitten, which highlights thoroughness in diagnosis (including blood tests), appropriate treatment (antibiotics, eye cream, steroid), and clear communication with the owner. However, the serious allegation of denied emergency care cannot be ignored and should prompt potential clients to inquire about the clinic's emergency protocols and availability.

Given the limited and contradictory nature of the recent feedback, it is recommended that local pet owners considering Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic for their pet's care may want to contact the clinic directly to discuss their specific needs and to understand their current policies, especially regarding emergency situations. The past positive experiences of one client indicate a potential for good care, but the recent negative experience serves as a significant caution.

In summary, Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic in Johnson City, TN, is a Pet Hospital that has received both high praise for its kind, considerate, and informative care, as well as a severe criticism regarding the alleged refusal of emergency service with tragic consequences. The services appear to include general care, treatment of illnesses, diagnostics, and preventative advice. While no promotions are mentioned, the contrasting customer experiences suggest variability in the perceived level of care, particularly in urgent situations, which potential clients should be aware of.

They were so kind and considerate and informative to me and my ten year old daughter who had brought in our 12 week old female kitten for an upper respiratory and eye infection. They dewormed her, took a tiny bit of blood to check for feline leukemia (negative thank goodness), said she should not receive shots while sick. And prescribed and gave us oral antibiotics, an antibacterial eye cream, and an oral flavored steroid to help her catch up the weight she'd lost while sickly. Within 4 days she was clear eyed, clear nosed, happily attacking every toy in the house, and wrestling with her sister. I cannot recommend them enough.

I wish there was a way to convey just how much I love and adore the staff here. How much I respect and appreciate everything they do for me and my fur baby. Over the last seven years, they have treated four of my babies. One that was very sickly, they helped keep her(Jiggy) happy and comfortable for years. Then when it was time, they were right beside me. Then crazy Folly puppy. When we got her she had parvo. They brought her back from the brink of death and made her a happy, healthy puppy. Who eventually got adopted into a great family. Then old man Scrappy Jacob. A 90 lb pitbull that most would be terrified of but they saw how incredibly gentle and sweet he was. They helped us keep him to the wonderful age of 15, and again when it was his time they were right there on the floor with me saying goodbye. Now to my crazy, crack dog Snowbell. He is my heart. He is the only fur baby I've ever known to have such anxiety over everything. He acts like a killer but is such a chicken. I've not been apart from him longer than a few hours. So when he had a visit during this terrifying pandemic I was all to pieces that he had to go into his yearly visit without me. That's my baby boy, my everything. Then Dr. Hinkle called me and told me what a good boy he was being, which I still don't believe LOL. Just hearing her calming voice, knowing that every single person on staff there treats my baby as their own. Knowing that if he got scared they would get one of his favorites in there to calm him down. Knowing that Dr. Hinkle knows his crazy ways and still loves him anyway calmed me down and reminded me he is just as safe with them as he is me. These amazing people truly take the time to talk to you, explain to you and sometimes even give you a shoulder to cry on. Trust me, I and Snowbell test them a lot, but they never waiver. I can't say enough good about them all. Dr. Kapoor, Dr. Hinkle, Ann(both of them), Tammy,  every tech every helper, everyone who answers the phone and calms my fears and thousand questions are absolutely amazing. Thank you all for everything. Please stay safe during these crazy times!

All my pets saw Dr Kapoor for years and years. I’ve moved out of state now, but had had to really search high and low to find a comparable veterinarian! Miss Pinecrest!!
