I do not enjoy making negative posts and very rarely do so. I am not typically lost for words but in today's visit to Pilchuck Vet U.C., I'm a bit flummoxed. I brought in my 75yo mother, in a walker, and her dog who had a head injury of some sort into the urgent care on a Monday @8am; only one 'patient '. The dog wasn't bleeding, but we were there as a emergency visit. My wife is a pediatrician and I understand fully waiting for doctors. The problem wasn't the wait for the doctor but in the utter lack of any given time frame other than 'someone else, before us' from the tech, but nothing from check-in until after we' d been patiently waiting for 2.5hrs and asked the front desk if there was any word on timing or if things could be hastened as my mom was starting to tire and started to become unable to sit (she has Huntington's,but I wouldn't expect staff to know even though she said). Instead of seeing the frail old woman in the walker shaking mildly, the staff got their backs up that we had the audacity to ask about the timing they'd never once given us. My time was limited as driver and we would have left IF they had told is it was going to be up to 6hr, which is what one staff member said to 'back up' the staff member I was asking and getting a response as if I was shouting at them. We were actually trying to leave and they wouldn't take our payment for the exam despite my mom holding her card out and them telling us after I asked if the doctor would send a follow up email or something because my mom was about to collapse and I was shocked of the staff's indifference and total lack of compassion (they loved her dog) towards my mother who was clearly in physical distress and we were Instead treated like problem customers. I even told the intake that she'd recently moved to Brookdale in Monroe and was in need of a regular vet The doctor that magically was available in 15min after we were about to leave was great, but Pilchuck lost a potential regular customer due the staff's poor comportment. I hope our experience was a one-off, but it didn't feel like it, which is why I feel compelled to write this review.

Apr 21, 2025 · Andy CWhat a horrible place left me in a room for almost 2 hrs while my dogs nose began swelling up waited for 30mins more mins for a receptionist or something to ask why I've been waiting so long?? No one to be found just a bunch of other people waiting! I finally got fed up and left and took my dog to Redmond and was seen within moments and treated promptly! This place should at minimum tell people that you may have a SEVERAL HOUR wait and if your dog worsens in the meantime good luck they won't help! They didn't even treat my dog, clean her wound up, check her temp. Just looked at her nose for 30 seconds and and are now trying to charge me 200 for sitting in a room for hours with no help!
Apr 15, 2025 · melissa ChamberlainA few years ago, I came home to my cat unresponsive. My vet was closed, and the other vets around were closed, I called pilchuck, they said get him out to them, I rushed her in, they brought her back right away, sadly it was her time. The staff at pilchuck were amazing, kind, and understanding. They didn't try to upcharge me for the emergency visit (during business hours.) They gave me as much time as I needed for the end of life transition. Furthermore, they sent me a card signed by all the staff members sending their wishes. Was a nice touch. So while my interaction with them was limited, I would recommend them, at least from what I went through.
Apr 11, 2024 · GreyWolfPilchuck Veterinary is a wonderful clinic with great staff, and caring veterinarians. The pricing, even in an emergency situation are very fair. I have NEVER been disappointed with the care received at Pilchuck. Very much recommended.
May 11, 2018 · Rachael Cartwright (Rachael Cartwright)We had to rush our sweet 15 year old man to the ER last night and the staff were so quick to respond and grab our sweet boy from us. They always called and communicated to keep us updated from our car. ( Covid procedure) we were there all night into the morning until he was discharged only to find that when he got home he just didn’t want to walk, eat, or take medicine and his health started to decline quick. We quickly called Pilchuck back and asked to return...we knew we had a hard decision to make and they were so kind and patient with us. Our sweet boy crossed the rainbow bridge at Pilchuck and he was calm and comfortable and at peace. And that’s all we could ever ask for as pet owners. The staff at Pilchuck were amazing, especially since this was a first for us. And huge shout out to their staff member for Brittany for being so sweet, patient and so informative with us and for always keeping us updated while you guys had our boy. If or when we get another pet, Pilchuck will always be the first stop for emergency vet. Thank you!
