The only place I trust! They treat you like family and know how much pets mean to you. They sent my family a very nice card after having to put down our family dog due to her stomach flipping. I will never go anywhere else and will always call this office when in need! My family is very lucky to have this place serving our community!

Welcome to Pike County Veterinary Clinic
Pike County Veterinary Clinic, located at 12E E Industrial Pk Dr, Pittsfield, IL 62363, USA, stands as a cornerstone of compassionate and comprehensive veterinary care for the community. As a dedicated "Pet Hospital," this clinic offers a broad spectrum of services designed to ensure the health and happiness of your beloved animal companions. With a strong reputation for treating pets like family and providing exceptional care, Pike County Veterinary Clinic has become a trusted name for pet owners in Pittsfield and the surrounding areas.
The clinic’s environment is consistently praised for being clean, caring, and welcoming. While details on the specific architectural design of the facility are not widely available, customer testimonials frequently highlight a positive and comforting atmosphere. There's also mention of a "new building," which suggests a commitment to modern facilities and an improved experience for both pets and their owners. This ongoing development indicates a forward-thinking approach to veterinary care, striving to provide the best possible environment for animal treatment and recovery.
Pike County Veterinary Clinic, under the expert care of veterinarians like Dr. Wilke and Dr. Johnson, provides a wide array of services. While a complete service list is not explicitly stated in all public information, common offerings at such a "Pet Hospital" typically include:
Wellness and Preventive Care: This forms the foundation of good pet health and often includes routine physical examinations, vaccinations tailored to your pet's needs (such as rabies, distemper for dogs, and FVRCP for cats), parasite prevention, and nutritional counseling.
Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose illnesses and conditions, a modern pet hospital is equipped with various diagnostic tools. This often encompasses in-house laboratory services for blood work (including heartworm and tick-borne disease screening, feline leukemia and FIV testing, glucose, and various blood panels), urinalysis, fecal analysis, and cytology (microscopic evaluation of ears, skin, tumors). Additionally, digital radiography (X-rays) is typically available to examine internal structures, aiding in the diagnosis of issues in the chest, abdomen, and musculoskeletal system. These radiographs are often reviewed by board-certified radiologists for precise diagnoses.
Dental Care: Dental health is crucial for a pet's overall well-being. Services commonly include routine dental cleanings, scaling, polishing, and extractions when necessary. Pre-anesthetic blood tests are often recommended to assess a pet's health before anesthesia for dental procedures.
Surgical Procedures: As a comprehensive pet hospital, Pike County Veterinary Clinic is equipped to perform a range of surgical interventions. This includes routine procedures such as spays and neuters, as well as more complex surgeries like growth removals, emergency surgeries, and potentially orthopedic or soft tissue procedures. The clinic likely utilizes safe anesthetics to ensure patient safety during surgical operations.
Emergency and Urgent Care: While it is always advisable to call ahead for emergencies, clinics like Pike County Veterinary Clinic often provide care for urgent situations during their operating hours. For after-hours emergencies, they typically refer to specialized emergency veterinary clinics in the region to ensure continuous care.
Senior Pet Care: As pets age, they often develop specific health concerns like arthritis, cognitive issues, and chronic diseases. The clinic would likely offer specialized care tailored to senior patients, including regular check-ups and recommended annual blood tests to monitor their health and manage age-related conditions.
Euthanasia Services: Recognizing the difficult decisions associated with end-of-life care, the clinic offers compassionate euthanasia services. This may include options for in-clinic or in-home euthanasia to provide comfort during a pet's final moments. They often provide memorial options such as clay paw prints and cremation services.
The features that truly set Pike County Veterinary Clinic apart, as highlighted by numerous real customer reviews, revolve around the exceptional quality of care and the deep-seated compassion of the staff. This combination of compassionate, high-quality, and reasonably priced services makes the clinic a highly valued resource within the community. The clinic's positive reputation and word-of-mouth referrals, driven by satisfied customers, are arguably their most effective promotional tools. The mention of a "new building" implies continued investment in the facility, which could lead to expanded services or improved patient experience, adding further value for their clients in the future.
