I have a 96lb baby. The other vet had me give her medicine to make her sleepy. She was scared of the other place. Made a appointment with DR Phiffer. Total change she went to weigh with the nurse, without me. She got her shots no problem. Thank you Dr Phiffer.

Welcome to Pfeffer Cheryl L DVM

Pfeffer Cheryl L DVM, situated at 7811 E 71st St A, Tulsa, OK 74133, USA, operates as a veterinary clinic dedicated to providing healthcare services for pets. As a facility within the "Pet Hospital" category, it aims to offer a range of services typically associated with animal medical care. The clinic serves the local community of Tulsa, OK, and surrounding areas, catering to the diverse needs of pet owners and their animal companions.

The clinic's approach to veterinary care, as indicated by available customer feedback, presents a mixed perception among its clientele. While some pet owners have had positive experiences, particularly regarding the handling of anxious animals, others have expressed concerns about aspects such as pricing and the diagnostic process. This objective introduction will detail these different aspects based on the provided information, offering a balanced view for local users considering their pet care options.

Environment and Handling of Anxious Pets:

One notable aspect highlighted by a customer review pertains to the clinic's ability to manage anxious pets. A client with a 96lb dog, who previously required sedative medication at another vet due to fear, experienced a "total change" at Dr. Pfeffer's clinic. The dog "went to weigh with the nurse, without me," and "got her shots no problem." This suggests that Dr. Pfeffer and her staff employ techniques or have an environment that helps reduce stress and anxiety in pets, enabling them to handle procedures more calmly. This compassionate approach to fearful animals is a significant positive feature, as it can greatly improve the veterinary experience for both pets and their owners.

The ability to manage a large, anxious dog without pre-sedation indicates a level of patience, skill, and perhaps a calming clinic atmosphere that is beneficial for pets prone to stress during vet visits. This empathetic handling can be a crucial factor for pet owners dealing with nervous or reactive animals, making visits less traumatic and more productive.

Services Offered:

As a veterinary clinic operating under the "Pet Hospital" category, Pfeffer Cheryl L DVM would typically offer a fundamental range of veterinary services. Based on the customer reviews, some of the services provided include:

  • General Consultations and Examinations: Pets are brought in for preliminary assessments, including weight checks and vital signs, as indicated by the review of a cat losing weight quickly. These initial examinations form the basis for diagnosing health issues.

  • Vaccinations: The positive review of the 96lb dog mentions "she got her shots no problem," indicating that routine vaccinations are a part of the services offered to maintain pet health and prevent common diseases.

  • Diagnostic Testing: The clinic performs diagnostic tests such as blood tests to investigate health concerns, as evidenced by the case of the cat with rapid weight loss. This is a standard part of identifying underlying medical conditions.

  • Medication Prescriptions: After diagnosis or as a trial treatment, the clinic prescribes medication, as seen when "some pills" were given for the cat's condition. This indicates their role in medical management of various ailments.

While the provided information does not detail other services such as surgery, dental care, or advanced imaging, these are generally expected offerings within a comprehensive pet hospital setting. An objective introduction relies solely on the provided data, so only the explicitly mentioned services can be detailed.

Features and Client Concerns:

The clinic's features and overall operational aspects, as perceived by clients, present a contrasting picture:

  • Handling of Anxious Pets: As discussed, a significant feature is Dr. Pfeffer's and her staff's apparent ability to handle anxious pets effectively, creating a less stressful experience for animals. This is a positive attribute for pet owners whose animals struggle with vet visits.

  • Diagnostic Challenges: One review highlights a less positive diagnostic experience. In the case of the cat with rapid weight loss, after preliminaries and a blood test, the clinic reportedly "didn't know what was wrong" and offered medication as a trial, stating "this might work." This suggests that in some complex cases, a definitive diagnosis might not be immediately reached, leading to uncertainty for pet owners.

  • Pricing Concerns: A significant concern raised by a client is the perception of high prices. The client explicitly states, "Their prices are WAY too high and all they are after is to get your money." They also compared the vet prices to their own doctor's fees, finding the former to be higher. This is a critical point of feedback for potential clients, as affordability is a major factor in veterinary care decisions. The client also linked perceived high prices to the clinic "moving to a new facility this month and must need more money to pay their builder," though this is a speculative opinion from the client.

  • Customer Recommendation: The negative review culminates in a strong recommendation against the clinic: "I would not recommend this veterinarian office to anyone for any reason." This indicates a high level of dissatisfaction with the overall experience, encompassing both medical outcomes and perceived financial practices.

Promotional Information:

Based solely on the provided reviews, the promotional information for Pfeffer Cheryl L DVM is somewhat contradictory. On one hand, the positive review about handling anxious pets serves as a strong endorsement for pet owners facing similar challenges. It indirectly promotes the clinic's compassionate approach and skilled handling of animals, which is a valuable service.

On the other hand, the highly critical review regarding pricing and diagnostic uncertainty acts as a counter-promotional element. While this is direct customer feedback and not clinic-generated promotion, it significantly influences public perception. For potential clients, understanding these varied experiences is crucial for making an informed decision.

The clinic's contact information is readily available: phone at (918) 492-2674 and mobile phone at +1 918-492-2674. These numbers serve as direct channels for current and prospective clients to inquire about services, schedule appointments, and discuss concerns.

In summary, Pfeffer Cheryl L DVM appears to be a veterinary clinic in Tulsa, OK, that demonstrates a compassionate approach to handling anxious pets, a significant benefit for a particular segment of pet owners. However, potential clients should also be aware of the expressed concerns regarding pricing and diagnostic clarity, as highlighted in specific customer feedback. Local users are encouraged to consider these varied experiences when evaluating the clinic for their pet's healthcare needs.

I took my cat in because she lost weight very quickly. The did the preliminaries ( weight, vitals etc) then a blood test. They didn't know what was wrong. They gave me some pills and said this might work, charged me almost $500 and sent me out the door. My cat passed on the evening of 3/7. Ok it's medical and can be tricky at times, I get it but the prices these people are are higher than what I pay to see my doctor for myself. They are moving to a new facility this month and must need more money to pay their builder. Their prices are WAY to high and all they are after is to get your money. I would not recommend this veterinarian office to anyone for any reason.

My Westie, Tracy was itching so much she couldn't sit still. ( Not fleas) Dr. Pfeffer had a full schedule that day but I ask them to call me if there was any cancelations. Thank goodness they had one later that day. After a shot, some meds & a spray Tracy & I have slept peacefully everynight since. Tracy's has healed up beautifully. I highly recommend Animal, Medical & Surgical for your little loves. Matter of fact a friend called me yesterday asking about Tulsa vets. His little Maltese will be going there today. We all need a vet we can trust completely. My four legged babies are my heart & soul. I will ONLY use Animal, Medical & Surgical & have been for 30 years.

I got to know Dr. Danner through volunteering at the animal sanctuary and think he is a true blessing to the veterinarian field. He puts so much into his job and in my opinion, is the best in the area
