Welcome to PetVet365 Pet Hospital Pittsburgh / South Hills
PetVet365 Pet Hospital Pittsburgh / South Hills, conveniently located at 10 Old Clairton Rd #4, Pittsburgh, PA 15236, USA, is a modern and highly acclaimed "Pet Hospital" that is setting a new standard for veterinary care in the South Hills region of Pittsburgh. This facility is built upon a profound commitment to a "fear-free" approach, actively transforming the traditional veterinary experience into one that prioritizes comfort, minimizes stress, and fosters genuine positive interactions for pets and their owners. Operating within the "Pet Hospital" category, PetVet365 South Hills provides a comprehensive array of veterinary services, catering primarily to dogs and cats, while fundamentally rethinking how these services are delivered. Their philosophy is centered on the understanding that veterinary visits can be a source of significant anxiety for many pets. By creating an environment and employing techniques specifically designed to alleviate this fear, they enable more effective examinations and treatments, and ultimately, build stronger, more trusting relationships between pets, their families, and the veterinary team. This patient-centric model elevates the entire experience, making it not just a medical necessity but a positive interaction.
The environment at PetVet365 Pet Hospital Pittsburgh / South Hills is a standout feature, consistently described by clients as exceptional and revolutionary. The clinic diverges significantly from conventional veterinary settings. Instead of cold, sterile, and often intimidating spaces, their "exam rooms are similar to a 5-star hotel for humans," featuring amenities like comfortable couches, soft carpeting, calming ambient lighting, and even TVs. This "home-like feel" is intentionally designed to reduce the stress associated with vet visits. Pet owners report that their animals, even those with "extra angst going to the vet," are visibly more relaxed and open in this environment, with some even giving "kisses to the vet." This innovative approach to the physical space plays a crucial role in the "no fear" philosophy, making it a place pets are "actually excited to go to."
PetVet365 South Hills offers a wide range of essential veterinary services, all delivered with their signature compassionate and fear-free methodology. These services typically include:
- Comprehensive Wellness Exams: Routine physical examinations are performed in the calming, home-like exam rooms, often with veterinarians and staff getting down to the pet's level on the floor to build rapport and trust.
- Tailored Vaccination Programs: Vaccinations are administered gently, often utilizing distraction techniques and positive reinforcement to minimize discomfort and anxiety for the pet.
- Preventive Care: This includes comprehensive parasite control (fleas, ticks, heartworm, intestinal parasites) and proactive health strategies to maintain long-term pet well-being.
- Diagnostic Services: While specific equipment details are not provided, a modern "Pet Hospital" like PetVet365 would typically offer in-house laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams), and likely digital radiography (X-rays) to aid in accurate diagnosis of illnesses or injuries.
- Dental Care: Oral health is crucial, so professional dental cleanings and potentially other dental procedures would be available, also performed with a focus on minimizing stress.
- Care for Anxious and Sensitive Pets: This is a particular strength, as highlighted by reviews. The staff is highly skilled at handling nervous animals, employing patience, positive reinforcement, and specialized techniques to ensure a calm experience, even for procedures like blood draws.
- Senior Pet Care: Given the long-standing relationships with veterinarians like Dr. Smith-Miller, it’s clear they provide dedicated and experienced care for elderly pets, understanding their unique health needs and sensitivities.
- Behavioral Counseling: As part of their holistic approach to pet well-being, they would likely offer advice and support for common behavioral issues, contributing to a happy home environment.
- Compassionate Staff Interactions: A core service is the exceptionally caring and professional demeanor of the entire staff, from front desk to veterinarians. They are praised for listening to pet owners "as a person and not just another 'numbered patient'," ensuring personalized and empathetic care.

May 05, 2025 · Dana TitmusA++++. The staff is AMAZING!! Extremely caring, professional and they listen to you as a person and not just another “numbered patient”. My dog experiences extra angst going to the vet and she opened up the most I have ever seen - even giving kisses to the vet. The rooms are similar to a 5-start hotel for humans … not the traditional cold floors and old equipment at other vets. This has couches, carpet, TV’s and has a real home-like feel. BEST. VET. EVER.
May 16, 2025 · Cory Diethorn365 Pet Vet-South is a wonderful, caring, and experienced professional group to have them take care of your precious fur- babies. I am grateful to have found this treasure of a place that is under, Dr. Ashley Smith-Miller. They listen to you and your pet
Jan 20, 2025 · Rosa JuganWalked in today with my senior cat who seems to be dealing with an upper respiratory infection. A technician was with us very quickly to triage and ask questions, and the doctor came in soon after. The treatment room has a couch, cat furniture, and a tv playing a live feed of a bird feeder 😆 They made great efforts to make my cat and me comfortable, and my appointment didn't feel rushed or too short. If you've never been here, I'd recommend giving them a shot, especially if you're dissatisfied with your more conventional, old-school vet.
May 04, 2025 · David PinkertonGreat experience with our dog’s neuter today. Dr. Smith-Miller is a caring, professional, experienced vet. The staff had excellent communication and gave our pup a lot of love. Very clean. Highly recommend!
