November 13, 2019 , I had to make a very hard decisions on trying to keep my baby girl alive or to help her pass away and be out of pain. Everyone was very supportive. I'm a nurse so I knew her chances of recover were slim. I felt the staff helped me through one of the hardest mornings. Dr. Weeks and his assistant didn't rush me and stayed by my side until, I was ready. There was no pressure at all, only caring people.⁸

Nov 16, 2019 · Dana DarnellI love Dr. Weeks. He is great and always takes his time ensuring the best care. My frustration is that we are reaching the end of life for our little guy, and I scheduled an appointment to discuss end of life options to make sure we have exhausted all avenues for a humane life. Over 24 hours prior to the appointment I realized I wouldn't be able to make it, so I called to change the appointment. I asked for it to be a drop-off and they informed me I would not be able to speak to the doctor. I asked if I could keep my original appointment slot so they can still see all their drop-offs but just call in instead of being there physically while he looks over my dog at that scheduled time. They absolutely refused to offer any accommodations and said I would be charged a cancellation fee. They ended up waiving the cancellation fee (I'm assuming because it was still over 24 hours until the appointment, but I'm not positive.) In my opinion this is an unfair policy because all drop-offs are being charged the same amount as an in-person appointment, but do not have the option to ask all the questions that they have. Even if there is no policy change, I would hope they would make an accommodation for the severity of the situation. We will be taking our dog to an emergency vey now for euthanasia.
Mar 07, 2024 · OliviaEveryone is super nice, and the Veterinarians will walk you through every and any procedure they will do on your precious pet(s) in detail. My cat needed a dental cleaning and her shots re-newed. The vet that was going to be operating on her for her dental exam told me exactly what was wrong with her teeth and made me aware of anything and everything that could happen during and after the procedure. After the exam, getting her blood work taken for the dental procedure, and her shots were taken she was scheduled for her dental cleaning the next week. (The shots were expensive). The day of the procedure I dropped her off at 7:30 AM and they told me she should be done around 2-4 PM and they would call me to pick her up. They called me when she was awake from anesthesia told me exactly what happened during the procedure and to pick her up. I went to pick her up and they gave me detailed instructions for her medication, what to watch for, and to call them if I had any questions or concerns. It was very expensive due to a lot of her teeth having to be extracted, but they took real great care of my baby and she feels so much better now that she doesn't have those really bad teeth in her mouth.!

Mar 19, 2025 · Kim L. NailFirst let me say that the vet and staff are wonderful people. They will love and care for your pet until you really need them. My father passed away in January and I took his dog. We had visited Pet Medical on several occasions and received very good care. At no time did they ever inform me of their policy about end of life care. My dog was dying and needed to be euthanized, but they informed me that they were not able to take care of these kind of emergencies because there is only one vet there. I have never had this experience in my life. Not ever. With all our other pets through the many years, our vet has always been available to take care of our animals when we needed it. The office manager Jamie told me that they could take care of it two days later. The dog was suffering and did not have two days. There was no way I was going to let him linger in pain for 48 more hours. She did suggest the option of me, dropping him off and them doing it when they could without me being present. I have never even heard of a vet who would encourage this kind of behavior of owners. Most vets encourage you to be there in your Dogs last moments. We ended up taking him back to my dad’s hometown and his old vet took care of the situation right out in our truck. The situation at Pet Medical left me traumatized and devastated. I feel that it was unprofessional, unacceptable, and unforgivable. On Wednesday after the dog died on Monday, I called to speak with someone in charge to get a better explanation of what had taken place. Jamie was not available so they left her a message. When I had not heard from her in five days I called and she spoke with me, and stated the same thing over again that they are not set up to take care of emergency euthanasia and that is why we have pet emergency rooms. I took our last dog to his vet to have him euthanized at the end of his life and it was an emergency, and they took care of me right away. When I asked her why she had not had the courtesy to return my phone call. She said that it had been on her list, but that she was too busy. Like I said, at the beginning, the doctor and his staff seem to be kind and benevolent people until you really need them. I feel like they failed me miserably when we needed them most.
