I had an emergency today and I called and explained my situation. My regular vets office would not see my dog. From the person who made the appointment to the staff who greeted me upon arrival to Cody the vet tech and Dr. Watson- you all are amazing. You helped me through on of the hardest times in my life. I lost my best friend today. You showed compassion, respect, professionalism and truly cared about me and my dog. You came through for me and my sweet dog when we needed the most help. Thank you for being there and me when I needed it the most. Dr. Watson you are a blessing to this profession. You were by me and my girls side and I appreciate you helping her be free from the pain and suffering. I highly recommend this practice. Their hearts are in the right place and your pets would be in best hands!

Welcome to Pet Care Clinic of the High Country

Welcome to Pet Care Clinic of the High Country, a Pet Hospital located at 1614 NC-105, Boone, NC 28607, USA. You can reach us at (828) 268-1159 or our mobile number +1 828-268-1159. As a veterinary clinic serving the High Country region, we aim to provide a range of pet care services to the local community. The information available includes both highly positive feedback regarding emergency care and significant concerns raised by another pet owner regarding puppy care.

Details about the specific environment of Pet Care Clinic of the High Country are not provided in the reviews. Typically, a Pet Hospital includes a reception area, examination rooms, and potentially areas for surgery, diagnostics, and patient recovery. The positive review mentions a welcoming experience upon arrival, suggesting a friendly initial point of contact. However, the negative review describes feeling unwelcome, indicating that experiences may vary. Without further information, a comprehensive description of the clinic's ambiance is not possible.

Based on the customer feedback, Pet Care Clinic of the High Country offers emergency veterinary services. One reviewer recounted a positive experience during a critical time, highlighting the clinic's willingness to see a pet in an emergency when their regular vet would not. This suggests that the clinic is equipped to handle urgent medical situations and provides compassionate support during difficult times. The staff, including the appointment scheduler, greeters, vet tech Cody, and Dr. Watson, were commended for their amazing service, compassion, respect, professionalism, and genuine care.

Conversely, the negative review details a concerning experience with a puppy's first visit. This customer reported that their puppy was taken away for the exam, which they felt was not normal. They also stated that their puppy received what they perceived as a "stupid amount" of shots, leading to significant pain. Furthermore, they alleged that the staff asked minimal questions about the puppy and barely communicated with the owner. Most alarmingly, this reviewer claimed that their puppy was given medication inappropriate for its weight and age, necessitating an emergency vet visit elsewhere to check for liver and kidney issues. This account raises serious questions about the standard of care provided in at least one instance.

A notable feature, based on one positive review, is the compassionate and professional nature of the staff, particularly highlighted during an emergency situation. The reviewer specifically praised Dr. Watson as a "blessing to this profession" for the support and care provided during the loss of their pet. Another reviewer simply stated that the practice's "hearts are in the right place" and that pets would be in the best hands. However, this contrasts sharply with the detailed negative experience, which paints a picture of feeling unwelcome, poor communication, and potentially harmful medical treatment.

The significant discrepancy between the two reviews suggests that experiences at Pet Care Clinic of the High Country can vary considerably. While one pet owner felt they received exceptional and compassionate care during an emergency, another reported a very negative experience involving what they perceived as improper handling, over-vaccination, lack of communication, and the administration of incorrect medication to their puppy. This divergence makes it challenging to pinpoint a consistent feature of the clinic without further information or a broader range of feedback.

The provided information does not include any details about specific promotional offers or new client specials that Pet Care Clinic of the High Country may currently have. Veterinary clinics sometimes offer introductory discounts for new clients or packages for puppy/kitten care. We encourage local users to contact the clinic directly to inquire about any such promotions that might be available.

In summary, Pet Care Clinic of the High Country in Boone, NC, is a Pet Hospital that appears to offer emergency veterinary services, with at least one instance of highly compassionate and professional care being reported. However, there is also a significant negative review detailing concerns about puppy care, including feeling unwelcome, perceived over-vaccination, poor communication, and the alleged administration of inappropriate medication. This conflicting feedback makes it difficult to provide a uniformly positive or negative introduction. We encourage local users to consider these differing experiences and to contact the clinic directly to discuss their pet's specific needs and to form their own informed opinion. Please reach out to Pet Care Clinic of the High Country to learn more about their services and approach to animal care.

Wouldn’t recommend this vet to my worst enemy. Please do not bring your pets here. Not only did I feel unwelcome and treated poorly, but my puppy was not treated properly WHATSOEVER. It was his first puppy visit and they took him away from me for the exam? Not normal. They gave him a STUPID amount of shots for his first visit there. He screamed and cried in pain for a day and a half after. They asked me zero questions about him and barely talked to me. The worst part of it all? THEY GAVE MY PUPPY A MEDICATION THAT IS NOT MEANT FOR A DOG HIS WEIGHT OR AGE. I had to take him to an emergency vet appointment somewhere else to check his liver and kidneys because he was symptomatic. I could not be more displeased. Please please please take your pets elsewhere.

We had a problem with our dog today and could not be seen by our vet because her staff is rude and had no compassion. Dr. Watson was great and helped us through this difficult time with professionalism and compassion. We had to put her down today, but the grace shown us and her will never be forgotten, Thank you Dr. Watson and staff, You are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So this place is really nice, I love how friendly staff are and willing to work with low income families, I took my baby in Vanilla which is my Banana/Mojave/Spider Ball Python! I took him in because he had gotten really sick with a upper respiratory infection so the antibiotics will be helping him and he’s also very happy and feeling better, this place is a little pricey but willing to work on payment plans with you which is good I highly recommend going here they are super nice and helpful thanks to them my babies are now safe from life threatening symptoms!

Prompt on getting my furbaby in to be seen, friendly, caring, attentive staff. Very gentle and caring towards TomTom, decent prices for a Vet. Me and my baby are very pleased. My only complaint is that they don't carry flea pills for cats.
