They were an absolute delight! I can say, at first, I was hesitant as the receptionist/front desk seemed to be a bit annoyed, more along the lines of, it seemed everything was an inconvenience for her, but, I know we all have bad days. The male Doctor and female Vet assistance, I believe her name may be Taylor, they were AMAZING!! I called early morning today in a panic because my bunny had an emergency and they told me to come on in. When going into the room, it was nothing but reassurance and constant communication. I don’t live in town so unfortunately they couldn’t be my regular Vet but I recommend anyone who lives in the Lexington area to take exotics here! If you all see this, thank you beyond words!! Boone and I are very grateful and thank you for dealing with my hysterical crying!!

Dr.G and his team are truly amazing. I have been with this practice since 2020. Dr. G and the staff were always so caring when it came to my babies. I unfortunately had to say goodbye to my 7 year old ferret this month and the team was so supportive and sensitive during this really hard time. Dr. G would always answer all of my questions and never made me feel stupid for asking the same questions over and over as I was always super worried about my ferret Larry. I would 100% recommend this practice!!

We recently moved here and I was delighted to find such a wonderful and caring exotic animal veterinarian and staff for my two rabbits. Crumpet & Trixie had their annual check-up today plus a nail trim and everyone was very professional, thorough, and friendly -- well, except for Crumpet & Trixie, LOL. I'm so happy for my bunnies to have Dr. Gravatte and his staff to care for their health.

I’ve been going for years, and finally got sick of the staff rolling their eyes at me. A veterinary office should be a safe and caring environment that is there to educate owners on the health of their animals; not make owners feel lesser. I’ve brought my bunnies, skink, rats, and two dogs to this facility and I’ve finally had enough. The only good thing about this office is their pricing, which isn’t worth it. The vet always spoke over me when I tried to give him specifics of my animals. He’d even huff and put his face in his hands. The last two visits were the final straw. He recommended that I get rid of my boarder collie / aussie because I didn’t live on a farm, even compared my dog to a Vizsla he previously owned that he also sent off to a farm. My dog had never been into that vet office before and is reactive to other dogs, which I advised employees of before arriving. They proceeded to bring another dog into the same room as him and luckily I was able to use my body to block my dog from seeing. They rolled their eyes at me when I told them I could email them his records because I didn’t have physical copies with me. They were not patient with him, they DRAGGED him into the back by his lead where I watched my dog pee all over himself. No coxing or patience shown. I could hear my dog screeching in the back where shots were to be administered. The next visit was his neuter. We walked into the reception area and my dog immediately peed everywhere. When I went to pick him up from his neuter, I sat in my car a few minutes to wait for the time I was given to pick him up, and here I watched an employee “take him out to potty” where she had a slip lead on so tight I could hear him cough and gasping for breathe; mind you he is leash trained. She yanked on the slip lead multiple times and was cussing at him. He did not go potty. When I was waiting in the lobby to pick my dog up I could hear him panic barking in the back (he’s been in a kennel since 10 weeks old). The receptionist informed me that he pooped and peed in his kennel, which is not normal for him. An employee walked him down the hall to me where he proceeded to pee everywhere and the employee yelled "Stop peeing". The woman gave me a fabric cone, why give me a cone that folds and bends and he can still reach his incisions? When I called and brought the concern to their attention she told me I had to pay for a plastic cone. That would be $70 spent on cones. This is only one experience with one of my pets. I said before I’ve been going for years, trusting that they'd educate me on the care of my animals. I was never educated only reprimanded and given printed out papers that had information from websites on it. Everyone is unkind and judgmental. These last couple visits were the last straw. I will be going to another vet.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Pennyroyale and especially Dr. Gravette!! They have taken wonderful care of my pets for 20+ years. First, using his Mobile Vet Waggin’ —which was a life saver with two small kids and 3 dogs! Once my kids were older and could assist me, we started going to the clinic. Dr. Gravette offers sound, no nonsense advice—especially when difficult decisions have to be made. Dr. Gravette saved my daughter’s young pup’s life with an ‘out of the box’ thinking. My daughter was only 6 years old, and while I prepared her for the worst, I was thankful Dr. Gravette was able to save her for my daughter! In 2 1/2 years, I had 3 dogs that had to be put down. Each time, Dr. Gravette carefully explained my dog’s conditions, options, and how each of those options would work and cost. When the difficult, but humane, decision to put each one down, Dr. Gravette and his staff were compassionate and caring, even sending me sympathy cards. He now takes care of my cat (that I got after my last dog). I wasn’t ready for another dog, but needed a furry friend. I will continue to have Dr. Gravette and Pennyroyale take care of my pets!!
