Staff was very nice and caring, but one thing I wish they would work on is communication. They had an emergency arrive while I was waiting in a room to be seen, waited over an hour. Only found out when I asked the receptionist if they still had time to see my dog, since it was 15 min to closing time. Will return again if an emergency arrives outside of normal vet business hours. Thank you for seeing my dog and helping us out!

Peninsula Veterinary Clinic Introduce

For pet owners on the Peninsula, navigating unexpected health crises or complex medical conditions for their beloved companions requires a reliable and advanced veterinary resource. In Yorktown, Virginia, **Peninsula Animal Referral Center (PARC)**, often referred to by its phone number or former name as "Peninsula Veterinary Clinic" by some clients, stands as a cornerstone of emergency and specialty veterinary care within the "Pet Hospital" category. Located at **1120 George Washington Memorial Hwy, Yorktown, VA 23693, USA**, and available via phone at **(757) 874-8115** or mobile at **+1 757-874-8115**, PARC offers a critical lifeline for pets needing urgent attention or specialized medical expertise.

The environment at Peninsula Animal Referral Center is designed to be a state-of-the-art facility capable of handling a wide range of emergency and specialized cases. As a 12,000 square foot, cutting-edge hospital, it is equipped with advanced diagnostic and monitoring equipment, including a full in-house laboratory, digital radiology, ultrasound, and an intensive care oxygen therapy unit. This robust infrastructure enables their team to get crucial diagnostic information and establish treatment plans rapidly, which is paramount in emergency situations. While the sheer volume of emergency cases can sometimes lead to wait times, as noted by a client, the overall atmosphere is one of professionalism and care. The staff are frequently described as "very nice and caring," striving to put pet owners at ease during what can be a very stressful time. The facility's design and equipment underscore its role as a high-level care provider, ready to tackle complex medical challenges.

The services provided by Peninsula Animal Referral Center are comprehensive, focusing on **emergency care** and a wide array of **specialty care**. For emergencies, they are open seven days a week, often from 8 AM to 10 PM, and have veterinarians and personnel on duty trained and equipped to handle urgent situations. This includes everything from accidental poisoning and car accidents to sudden vomiting or lethargy. Their in-house diagnostics, including digital radiography, ultrasound, and a full laboratory, allow for rapid assessment and diagnosis. Beyond emergencies, PARC distinguishes itself by offering specialized care with **Board-Certified Specialists**. These specialists provide expertise in various fields, including **Dermatology**, **Ophthalmology**, **Oncologic Surgery**, **Neurosurgery**, and **Orthopedic and Soft Tissue Surgery**. This means that when a pet develops a condition requiring advanced expertise beyond what a primary care veterinarian can provide, PARC can offer the specialized knowledge and treatment options. The clinic also maintains close communication with primary care veterinarians, ensuring a seamless transfer of information and continuity of care for pets.

Key features of Peninsula Animal Referral Center include its dual focus on emergency and specialty care, making it a critical hub for complex pet health needs in the region. The availability of **Board-Certified Specialists** on staff is a significant differentiator, offering a level of expertise not commonly found in general practice clinics. Their extensive range of advanced diagnostic tools and treatment capabilities, such as their in-house laboratory, digital imaging, and critical care unit, allow for precise and timely interventions. The clinic operates with a dedicated team of emergency clinicians, licensed veterinary technicians, critical care trained veterinary assistants, and client service coordinators, all working collaboratively to ensure the safety and comfort of their patients. The ability to handle walk-in emergency patients further solidifies their role as an immediate resource. Furthermore, PARC demonstrates a commitment to community by providing information and resources to pet owners on various health topics through newsletters and engaging with organizations like ANLOL (likely an animal welfare or rescue group), indicating a broader dedication to animal well-being beyond just their direct patient care.

For promotional information, Peninsula Animal Referral Center's strongest assets are its capability to provide "world-class medicine" and its unwavering availability during emergencies. Client testimonials, such as those praising their quick diagnoses and the effectiveness of treatments (e.g., Dr. Fisher diagnosing a dog "in a jiffy" and the "meds made her a new dog again"), serve as powerful endorsements. The appreciation for staff being "very nice and caring" and putting owners "at ease when we were very worried" highlights their empathetic approach, which is crucial in emergency settings. While one review mentioned a desire for improved communication regarding wait times during emergencies, the willingness to "return again if an emergency arrives outside of normal vet business hours" speaks to the overall trust and value clients place in their services. Their reputation as a facility that can handle complex and urgent cases, coupled with the expertise of their specialists, positions them as a premier choice for referral and emergency veterinary services in Yorktown and the surrounding areas. Their website and direct contact information are key promotional tools, allowing pet owners and referring veterinarians to quickly access their services when needed most.

Thank you for helping our ridiculous dog! Dr. Fisher diagnosed her in a jiffy, and the meds made her a new dog again. I'm being just a little dramatic, but the whole team put us at ease when we were very worried about our dog. A++

Our beloved "Boogyman" Duke from Gloucester of 17 years recently passed. We thought he would rally but things failed quickly and we brought him here. The staff saw our desperation and quickly arranged a quiet room for us to say our goodbyes. Duke has always hatted the vet, but he knew why he was there. This place was different. He knew that the Love was here for him to be comfortable. They really were. This place IS different. They petted him, talked softly to him, They loved on him. He was happy there. Wish i had taken him there for his regular visits. They were so nice and had a professional care i didnt even recieve when i had to stay at riverside for a whole month for the side of mersa that came with my quad bypass. God bless the staff here , i will always recomend them. Duke Thanks you

My dog was attacked by coyotes. I took him to this vet. They did give him pain meds and fluids. My problem lies here; my dog was bleeding excessively. They did not do anything to stop the bleeding. I had two options; take him home that night or let him stay at the hospital. One of vets told me that the only difference between him staying and going was a few blood tests. So I chose to take him home. He passed away the next day, not even 24 hours later. My floors were absolutely covered in blood. I am certain he bled out & passed from shock. I am angry that this vet did not do anything to stop my pups bleeding. The only thing they did was give him pain meds and some fluid. It鈥檚 sad that crappy people can go to a hospital and get good care, but an innocent animal does not get the care they deserve to keep them alive.
