The staff is very friendly and helpful. The vets answer all your questions and don't rush you. The vets I went to before would have you drop off your pet and call you when they are done, so you didn't get any information from them. It was so refreshing to have the vet spend time with me. I was previously told my dog had a heart murmur but never knew how bad it was. This vet told me that it was only a 2 to 3 out of 6. That gave me reassurance. My dog is 13 and I want to keep her as healthy as possible. Love these guys.

I adopted a beautiful loving kitten from the Animal Welfare League and from a list in my adoption packet, I decided to follow up with her care at the Peace River Vet Clinic. Everyone was kind, caring and wonderful. I feel quite confident about taking this new vets office for my precious little angel!

So grateful for this place! If I’m ever in need of a tick med or concerned with a spot on my goldendoodle, they are always able to get us in within a week. They seek preventative care and are mindful of costs.

I moved to Port Charlotte the end of 2023. I called Peace River to make an annual appointment for my 2 dogs and was told that they were not taking new clients for a few months. I found this strange but booked the first available appointment over 2 months away, should have been a red flag. My older dog became sick last week and I called and tried to get an appointment, I was told the first they had was a week out Thursday. I took the appointment. My dog continued to get worse, on Monday I called to see if they could look at her sooner and was informed no. She was not eating or drinking, had diarrhea and was vomitting bile. Thursday was the best they could do. I called Tuesday and said the appointment might be end of life, they asked me to come early to the Thursday appointment, still no offer of an earlier appointment. My furbaby continued to suffer and decline, if it was the end I would have liked to help her on her way without her suffering and us worrying. She died Wednesday night, not sure if the vet could have helped but it would have been nice if they had tried. I find their lack of empathy and caring horrible. In hindsight I should have found a different vet on Monday, watching her suffer was brutal. With my experience with this Vet I would shy away and look elsewhere.

Our dog Winston swam for a few minutes in the Helene flood because was looking for a place to use the bathroom, I brought him back inside our home which had 2 feet of water. Since Helene and Milton were on our third place to stay. Long story short, my wife called them today to get an antibiotic for his serious ear infection, they told her it’s been a little over a year he’ll have to come in. Do they not understand it’s not possible because we’re not able to make the trip. We will never bring our dogs there again. We’re using telehealth. Update 2 weeks after the telehealth vet ordering diflucan to treat a fungal infection, my dogs been off the Apoquel which costs $127 a month is no longer itching and scratching. Can’t believe his in person visits to peace river vet never thought of this. This will save us about $1,500.00 a year.
