Environment and Philosophy of Care

Peace Love Vet's philosophy centers on providing skilled, personal, and compassionate veterinary care, often in the comfort and familiarity of the pet's own home, or at Peace Love Vet's "Zen Den" in Lewisburg. Dr. Gabby Pagana is described as "caring and compassionate," showing "kindness" and enabling pets to pass in the "most peaceful manner at home." This emphasis on a serene and low-stress environment is paramount, especially for their end-of-life services. The approach is holistic, blending Western medicine with Eastern practices like Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), including acupuncture and food therapy. This integrative methodology reflects a commitment to treating the root cause of health issues rather than just managing symptoms, and understanding the pet's overall health and constitution ("personality"). The goal is to provide comprehensive, individualized care that supports a pet's healing journey and quality of life.

Services Offered

Peace Love Vet provides a specialized array of services that blend conventional and holistic veterinary medicine:

  • In-Home Euthanasia: This is a cornerstone service, highly praised by clients. Dr. Pagana offers compassionate in-home euthanasia, allowing pets to transition peacefully in their familiar surroundings, reducing anxiety for both the animal and the family. Clients appreciate her kindness and understanding during this difficult time.
  • Integrative Veterinary Consultations (Virtual and In-Person): Dr. Gabby Pagana offers both online (Zoom) and in-person consultations. These are typically second opinion consults or for pet owners interested in holistic healing. Consultations involve discussing the pet's overall health, conditions, diagnosing, and creating individualized treatment plans that integrate Eastern and Western medicine. These plans may cover herbal therapy, pet-safe essential oils, food therapy/nutrition, pet behavior, massage, at-home therapies, and determining the pet's constitution.
  • Acupuncture: A key healing modality offered, acupuncture involves inserting thin needles into specific points to treat imbalances and promote the body's natural healing by addressing Qi flow. It's commonly used for musculoskeletal pain, injuries (like ACL tears, arthritis), neuropathic pain (e.g., IVDD), chronic skin conditions, immunodeficiency disorders, cancer, and internal medicine disorders. Acupuncture sessions can be conducted at the "Zen Den" or in the client's home, and are available for all animal species, including horses and exotics. Packages are offered for multiple sessions.
  • Equine Acupuncture Treatment: Specifically tailored acupuncture for horses, addressing issues like stiffness, lameness, and sore backs. These sessions often include pulse-electromagnetic therapy with an Assisi loop.
  • Food Therapy/Nutrition Counseling: As a certified veterinary food therapist, Dr. Pagana provides guidance on appropriate diets to support healing and overall well-being.
  • Herbal Therapy: Utilizing medicinal herbs as part of an individualized treatment plan.
  • Pet Behavior: Guidance on pet behavior issues as they relate to overall health and well-being.
  • At-Home Therapies: Advice and instruction on therapies that can be performed by owners at home.

It's important to note that Peace Love Vet's primary focus appears to be on holistic and integrative care, with a strong emphasis on end-of-life services. For general emergency care, complex surgical needs, or comprehensive diagnostic imaging (like advanced X-rays or ultrasounds beyond what may be part of an integrative consult), clients might need to consult a traditional full-service veterinary hospital or emergency clinic.

Dr. Gabby treated my horse with acupuncture after he sustained a fractured nose. The treatment she provided showed a significant improvement with edema and overall appearance! Her love for animals shows on how she genuinely cares and her gentle touch. Her presence has such a calming effect and puts you and your pet at ease. She always gives you her undivided attention and always educates you on what she is doing and the benefits of the treatment.
