Peace Love Pets Veterinary Care, A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner Introduce

Welcome to the introduction of Peace Love Pets Veterinary Care, a valued partner within the Thrive Pet Healthcare network, serving the local community from its address at 6229 Jericho Turnpike, Commack, NY 11725, USA. As a dedicated Pet Hospital, Peace Love Pets Veterinary Care aims to provide a wide range of services and support for your beloved animal companions. Understanding the importance of accessible and reliable veterinary care, this introduction will delve into what you can expect from this establishment, drawing upon available information to offer an objective overview.

Peace Love Pets Veterinary Care operates within the category of a Pet Hospital, signifying its commitment to offering comprehensive medical services for pets. This encompasses preventative care, diagnostics, treatments for illnesses and injuries, and potentially surgical procedures. As part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare network, they likely adhere to certain standards of care and may have access to a broader network of resources and expertise. For local users seeking a dependable partner in their pet's health journey, understanding the specifics of what Peace Love Pets Veterinary Care offers is crucial.

Based on available information, including customer reviews, we can begin to piece together a picture of the environment and services offered at Peace Love Pets Veterinary Care. One reviewer expresses strong positive sentiment, highlighting Dr. Litwack as an "amazing vet who truly cares about pets" and noting their involvement with their husky family for nearly three years. This positive feedback also extends to the staff, described as "friendly and very helpful," leading to a high recommendation of the place. This suggests a welcoming and supportive environment where pet owners feel their concerns are heard and addressed by caring professionals.

However, it is essential to consider all available feedback to form a balanced perspective. Another, more detailed review presents a deeply emotional account of a negative experience. This customer brought their sick dog to Peace Love Pets, noting the initial assessment that the dog was overweight. The review raises concerns about the administration of a rabies shot despite the dog's apparent illness and the location of the injection. Subsequently, the dog was diagnosed with diabetes, Lyme disease, and pancreatitis. The reviewer expresses a strong belief that the rabies shot exacerbated their dog's condition, ultimately leading to the pet's passing. While acknowledging the staff's compassion, the review questions the decision-making of the veterinarians involved. This narrative underscores the importance of thorough communication, accurate diagnosis, and careful consideration of a pet's overall health status before administering any treatment, including vaccinations.

Considering these contrasting experiences, it's important for local users to approach Peace Love Pets Veterinary Care with a balanced perspective. The positive review indicates the potential for excellent care and a supportive team. Dr. Litwack's reputation, as mentioned, suggests a veterinarian who is perceived as genuinely caring and competent. The friendly and helpful staff also contribute to a positive overall experience for some pet owners.

On the other hand, the negative review highlights potential areas of concern, particularly regarding diagnostic accuracy, treatment decisions, and communication. The reviewer's experience suggests that while the staff may be compassionate, there were perceived shortcomings in the veterinary assessment and the potential consequences of certain medical interventions. It also emphasizes the importance of pet owners being proactive in their pet's care by asking questions and being well-informed.

I am not sure if this is raw emotion or this is how I really feel. My beloved dog was seen by Peace Love Pets. No need to throw a Vet under the bus. My dog was very sick. He could not stand on his hind legs. At the time my wife and I could not afford all of the testing at that time but would return to do the testing that weekend. It was determined that my dog was overweight (By the way I totally agreed with This assessment) he needed to lose weight. Then the winner, the Vet says by law we have to give the Rabies Shot. Well that’s not particularly true if the vet suspects that the dog is sick. Best part they gave the dog the shot in his hind legs where he already had trouble getting up. A couple days later my dog was completely disabled. Could not and would not get up on his own. So we took him back to Peace Love Pets and ran the battery of tests. It turns out that the dog was diabetic, had Lyme disease and pancreatitis. We were like oh my god! Our dog was very sick. We were shown how to administer insulin and other things. By the way the Staff that works there is great. Hands down compassionate people. We saw another vet at Peace Love Pets and he appeared to be the Senior there. I asked if the dog was having a reaction to the shot. I never so so much dancing in my life. Yes danced around the question. We went home. I decided I need to educate myself. It turns out that Rabies shot can bring on the symptoms of diabetes and pancreatitis. Also if the dog appeared sick it would not be advisable to give the shot to the dog at that time. So the end to my story is this. My beloved family dog passed away at home. I definitely believe it was the Rabies shot that finally did him in. We spent money we did not have! We lost the love of our lives and all this because I was not educated enough to ask the correct questions before I went to the vet. I would think I would be able to put my trust in the Vet. My family and I take ownership in the fact that our dog was overweight. But if he was as sick as he turned out to be the Rabies shot should not have been the final nail in the coffin. Pet Owners be educated, ask questions. Be your pets advocate. Because these beautiful creatures cannot speak for themselves. Again, my emotions are raw. But I would just like to know why you would give the rabies shot if the Dog was sick and why would you give the shot in his hind legs where he could not get up. 4 Stars to the staff, I just do not know what the Vets were thinking. I am no doctor. But I can read. Please do better. Please!!

I was referred to this office by a family member. I was little apprehensive about it because my dog is a rescue, has anxiety and other offices haven’t been super friendly to us. He’s an old man, he’s going to be 12. I took a chance and book an appointment with dr. litwack. When I tell you best decision I’ve made. When I showed up everyone from front desk to the technician were AMAZING. They made Luigi feel like royalty. It was like the red carpet was rolled out for Luigi. They made my boy feel so welcomed I was overwhelmed with emotions. The front desk was super quick with check in. When we went to the back and I spoke to the dr. And the assistant. Everytime they asked me questions about Luigi they would take notes and WOULD ACTUALLY LISTEN! They took everything I told them into consideration when coming up with a treatment plan. At the end Luigi needed to get surgery for his eyelid, I was walked through the game plan for him and all my questions were addressed. The day of the surgery Luigi walked in not anxious at all! I was more anxious then he was. Luigi took a bit of time to fully wake up after surgery, I believe the nurse was named Lauren and dr. Litwack stayed longer then they really needed to. You can tell they both have a passion for helping animals. I can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for Luigi!! My dog also has hip dysplasia, I was told at another office there was nothing they could do for him, however Here he was prescribed medication and it improved his walking soo much!! You guys have been heaven sent! To the team at peace love & pets. Luigi and I are enterally grateful to you!! 10/10 would recommend everyone to come here! Dr. Litwack you really went above and beyond for us! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I took my dog here for the first time, and was very impressed with the staff. The technician was wonderful and very compassionate, and Dr. Crockett explained everything very well. Everyone here was so kind, and treated my baby Alpha with so much love and care. I will definitely come back here with all of my dogs!
