I cannot recommend Pawsitive Steps enough! Our 6 year old dog has hip dysplasia and also injured her iliopsoas. The surgeon recommended holding off on surgery and treating her injury which led us to Pawsitive Steps. I was so impressed the first time that I went there, they spent so much time with me and as well as with my dog. She isn't particularly nervous but gets riled up with a bunch of people and they took extra care to even leave the room so that she could have some time to decompress for the first visit. Since then, we have been attending weekly and now bi-weekly and I have seen a noticeable change in her comfort levels! She was limping constantly and now she seems much happier and is not displaying any signs of pain! The visits are pricey and it really relies on you doing your "homework" aka exercises at home with your dog, but it is SO worth it and definitely cheaper than surgery. Everyone who works there has been so helpful and kind and our dog loves going!

Oct 04, 2024 · Julie BrennerThere have been moments over the last year that my husband and I thought that our beloved dog-ter, Arria, was getting ready for her time to cross the rainbow bridge. She has more than one type of cancer, Cushings disease, and very bad hip dysplasia and arthritis. While working on getting the levels of her medications to the correct balance, our fear of that day has slowly receded. With her medications mostly at the right balance, what we began to notice is extreme stiffness and a sudden unwillingness on her part to get up and go potty outside. With the Cushings, getting her to be able to hold her bladder was a huge challenge to overcome, and once we were able to do that, it was time to tackle her pain. Our vet very highly recommended Pawsitive Steps. Now, my entire life I have been a dog lover. Arria is like my child, and I would do anything for her. To me, when we adopted her from the shelter, that was what we signed up to do. To do everything to give her the best life; to ensure that unlike her experience with abusive humans when she was born, she could be loved and cherished, happy and healthy. Since we started at Pawsitive Steps, the changes in Arria have been quite literally breathtaking. She was always a lover of being outside in the shade and enjoying a cool breeze. Playing with toys. Playing and dancing with her cookies. And for a while that had stopped. She started off with weekly appointments, and everyone from the reception desk to the Veterinarian who owns the rehab facility has been just the kindest, most amazing staff and Arria absolutely LOVES to go there. She talks to everyone in a happy little whine and has to walk to everyone when she gets inside so they can give her butt scratches and pets. And they adore her there. You can tell that all of the staff love animals and love what they do. The quality of care is absolutely unmatched, and it is why we have had no issues with the cost of the treatments, which honestly for everything they do for her, is not even remotely high.
Aug 22, 2024 · LaurenWorking with the staff at Pawsitive Steps has been wonderful, they are so caring and you can tell they love the dogs. A year ago, I was worried about Mya, my now 13-1/2 year-old Brittany, that we wouldn't have her much longer. She had started to stumble and show weakness in her back legs, and I hesitated for even a short walk with her. She was also showing signs of canine dementia. After several months of PT, including home exercises that they prescribed, Mya has much less of the stumbling and I can tell she is stronger, and continues to love life and running. And I don't notice the confusion she was starting to exhibit. She's still an old lady with arthritis, but I am looking forward to however much longer we have with her.
