Welcome to Paws In Motion
Welcome to Paws In Motion, a unique pet hospital located at 214 N Main St # 101, Natick, MA 01760, USA. Operating within the platform category of Pet Hospitals, Paws In Motion distinguishes itself by focusing on specialized animal rehabilitation, physical therapy, and fitness programs for pets in Natick, Massachusetts, and the surrounding areas. While categorized as a pet hospital, their services extend beyond traditional veterinary medicine, offering targeted therapies and activities to improve the physical well-being, recovery, and overall quality of life for animal companions. This center provides a valuable resource for pets needing post-surgical rehabilitation, management of chronic conditions, or simply looking to enhance their physical fitness through specialized programs.
Based on the enthusiastic feedback from real customers, the environment at Paws In Motion appears to be both engaging and therapeutic. One reviewer mentions that their pups "love" going for swimming sessions, indicating a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for the animals. The mention of staff members Suzy and Ashley being "great and very patient" suggests a supportive and understanding approach, particularly when dealing with dogs who might be stubborn or goofy. This patient and caring environment is crucial for building trust with animal patients and ensuring their comfort during therapy or recreational activities.
The core services offered at Paws In Motion center around animal rehabilitation and fitness. Hydrotherapy, specifically swimming, is highlighted as a popular recreational activity for dogs. Hydrotherapy is a well-known and effective form of rehabilitation for various conditions, including post-operative recovery, arthritis, and muscle weakness. The buoyancy of water reduces stress on joints while providing resistance for muscle strengthening. The fact that dogs enjoy these sessions, as noted in the review, makes it a positive and sustainable activity for their well-being.
Another significant service offered at Paws In Motion is physical therapy, as explicitly mentioned in a review praising Dr. Starr. This customer's dog, recovering from two TPLO (tibial plateau leveling osteotomy) surgeries, has shown a positive reaction to the visits, with his tail wagging excitedly upon arrival. This behavioral cue underscores the positive association the dog has with the center and Dr. Starr. Physical therapy for dogs recovering from surgery is crucial for regaining strength, range of motion, and preventing re-injury. It often involves a combination of exercises, manual therapy, and guidance on home care.
A key feature of Paws In Motion, as highlighted by the reviews, is the expertise and gentle approach of their professionals, particularly Dr. Starr. She is described as "excellent," "respectful" of her patients, and "very gentle and encouraging" with them. This patient-centered approach is vital in rehabilitation, where building trust and cooperation with the animal is essential for progress. Dr. Starr's oversight of a dog's recovery from a major surgery like TPLO, with the associated risks of re-injury, emphasizes the importance of having an expert monitor progress and guide the rehabilitation process.
The fact that a pet recovering from a significant orthopedic surgery enjoys their visits to Paws In Motion speaks volumes about the positive and effective environment and the gentle care provided. The owner's emphasis on Dr. Starr's expertise in overseeing the recovery and checking progress underscores the value of specialized rehabilitation services in ensuring optimal outcomes after surgery and in managing chronic conditions.

Jun 20, 2020 · Paige-Cecily RamosDr Starr is excellent. My buddy had TPLO surgery in 2022, and is now recovering from the same on his other leg this year (2023). When we pulled into the parking lot for the first visit this year, his tail went into speed wag. If he enjoys it, I’m all for it. Dr Starr respects her patients and is very gentle and encouraging with them. With the amount of time required for recovery from this surgery, and the accompanying chances for re-injury, having an expert oversee my buddy’s recovery and check his progress is crucial. I highly recommend Paws in Motion for doggo PT.
Apr 19, 2023 · Jerry GDr. Starr evaluated my dogs hip dysplasia and provided some at home PT exercise to help her. She was very honest and nice. We will go back if/when my dog needs more help than we can do on our own.
Jun 21, 2023 · Colleen MooreDr. Starr is absolutely amazing! She is very knowledgable about the work she does. I could not recommend her enough if your dog needs physical therapy. She truly cares about her patients and is very responsive to any questions or concerns. Our dog Jax loved going to see her for hydrotherapy.
Mar 02, 2021 · Haley ZangaMy dog Ellie had FHO surgery (major hip surgery). Dr. Starr was so kind and helpful. Ellie made a complete recovery and honestly no one would ever know she was ever injured.
