absolute headache of a place. everything was fine and going well until the vet who was helping me decided to change my cats medication plan after i already closed out with the front desk. I took my cat in for a ruptured anal gland and it almost seemed as if the vet had no idea what he was talking about. I told him there was a small hole near his butt that needed to be checked on, he said he saw it but it wasn’t too much of a concern and that we won’t need to do surgery. He asked if he could shave the area, and i agreed. This is when things started to get annoying. Mind you, the front desk girls weirdly closed me out before i even got my cat back. The vet calls me back saying he’s changing medications and that he just saw the hole on his butt (which i already thought he saw since that’s what he said the first time i was called back) and the reason to the hole on his butt isn’t because of parasites but a possible “puncture” from a sharp object (huhh??) i mean.. if you google anal gland rupture it looks exactly like what my cat has. So now, i’ve been charged $95 for a fecal exam that they won’t refund but will give a credit… And then proceeds to charge me for different medication where i end up having to spend even more money. The vet tech who was helping me did not make the situation any better because of her rude demeanor and little to no etiquette. After leaving, i realized she didn’t give me my cats flea medication. I came back to 5 or 6 girls sitting at the front desk and i asked to receive the medication that was forgotten. all sat there silent looking like lost dogs. I did not get the girls name who ended up helping me, but i want to thank her for breaking the awkward silence when i asked for help. Overall, i would not recommend going here if you are prone to headaches and don’t want to smell like a dog kennel (the place stinks)

Park Community Animal Hospital Introduce

For pet owners in the Pico Rivera, California area searching for a "Pet Hospital," Park Community Animal Hospital is located at 4029 Rosemead Blvd. Reviews present a mixed picture of the services and overall experience at this clinic.

One customer reported a negative experience, describing it as an "absolute headache." This review detailed issues with a veterinarian changing a cat's medication plan after checkout, a perceived lack of understanding regarding a ruptured anal gland, unexpected charges for a fecal exam with a credit offered instead of a refund, and additional costs for the new medication. The reviewer also mentioned a rude vet tech and a disorganized experience when trying to retrieve forgotten flea medication. They further noted an unpleasant smell of a dog kennel within the facility and ultimately recommended against visiting.

Conversely, another customer shared a positive experience, stating they have been taking their pets there for over a year and found the customer service to be great. They felt that the staff loves their patients, both cats and dogs, and reported that their pets are currently doing well under their care.

Given these contrasting reviews, local users may want to consider both perspectives when deciding whether to choose Park Community Animal Hospital for their pet care needs. The positive review highlights good customer service and care for pets, while the negative review raises concerns about communication, medication management, billing practices, and the clinic environment. No information regarding specific services offered, the environment in detail, features, or any promotional offers is available beyond these customer experiences.

I've been taking my fur babies here for over a year now. The customer service is great! They love their patients, whether feline or canine. Took my babies in for care. They are currently doing well.

Please, please, please, find a team who will treat you better - I know I will. I have been a client at Park Community Animal Hospital for over a year and a half with my same pet and have had a good experience until today. The customer service has become unacceptable and I will be changing hospitals. It is such a shame that it is so difficult to find a decent animal hospital for my baby in this area but I will continue looking. Too often good VETS are overpowered by terrible receptionists. I am disappointed in the customer service I received today at Park Community Animal Hospital. The visit started out okay, even with long wait times (Monday 3PM). The vet, Dr. Kim, was very caring when discussing my pet's treatment. After paying for services, I looked at my receipt and realized I was billed for a completely different pet. I requested a refund and to be charged the correct amount for my pet. The receptionist who initially charged me (the team lead) left to the back for several minutes. The remaining receptionist proceeded to accept incoming phone calls. After listening to her lengthy conversation, asking for the client's schedule, and then accepting a second call, I requested that she help resolve my problem of being charged for the wrong pet instead. This receptionist, Chelsea, proceeded to continue her conversation, completely ignoring me. She then openly argued with me, telling me her phone call came first and was more important. A third receptionist appeared from the back and I approached her asking for her help instead. This receptionist (glasses, extremely calm and uncaring demeanor) informed me it would require a manager to issue the refund (Carlos - who never appeared to the front). Again appears the receptionist (lead) who initially charged me for the wrong pet. After several minutes of silence at her seat, she informs me she is now able to void the transaction and will charge me my correct amount for my pet, which is $110 less than she initially charged me. I let her know her I did not have the available funds in my bank since the initial payment is still posted and my card will decline for the correct amount. She goes to the back to ask the manager for permission to send me a bill via text, and comes back saying she is able to. Again, I came across the extremely condescending attitude and unclear answers from the lead when asking for a paper receipt of the voided transaction. The bottom line is these people made a mistake that I would have been willing to kindly accept if it weren't for being ignored for several minutes after over-paying and if they acted with any sense of professionalism or sense of care. On top of the disaster that is reception at this hospital, I was recommended by a vet tech to purchase a topical solution for fleas. I was sold three units and sent home with three units. So was any medicine administered at the hospital?? Who knows - I will have to call and ask tomorrow during operating hours. Also, I understand policy and safety but pet parents should really be allowed to at least see where their babies are being treated! Every time I have requested to see my pet get vaccines or any type of exam - I am denied. This does not help to create an environment of trust and there should be accommodations for these types of requests.

Staff is very friendly, very professional and so helpful. I really like this vet. I’ve taken my dog to several in the first couple of years I had her, but now I only come here. They’ve taken me in as a walk in when I didn’t have an appointment. Only thing I would change, I’d appreciate if they would email me a reminder of when her shots are due. I once took my dog to a vet hospital during the pandemic cuz she was having an allergic reaction to a bee sting. To this day, they still send me vaccine reminders and birthday wishes for my dog Jackie.
