I’ve been coming here for about 9 years. The doctors are different from when I first started but I really like the them. They seem to really care. The staff is friendly. Follow up is really good. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because it is expensive which I’m sure is just the industry and having no pet insurance but it is a shock each time we come in so we really try hard to limit to going to the annual wellness appointment and Hope and pray no issues arise during the rest of the year. We’d do anything for our pup so we pay regardless. I do recommend them.

Thank You to Dr Formenton and staff at Pacific Animal Hospital Oceanside. Our 18 year old dog was very ill ,end of life care and our regular vet closd for weekend. The Dr and staff just wonderful, even though this was the first time we met. When I received our doggies paw prints in the mail I was so happy to have that memory! A wonderful team! Took my car there because she was peeing blood. They made us collect a urine sample because they don’t keep pets over night there. Gave us antibiotics that didn’t work because they only gave us a weeks worth of antibiotics and she needed at least two weeks of antibiotics. Charged us a lot for not a lot of work and it didn’t fix my cat. Didn’t have any answers either. Taking her to another vet now! Thanks for nothing! Seems like they are just milking us for all the money they can! Great scammers there!

The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with any of my dogs. Took 2 rescue puppies in for shots and when I picked them up, they were in EXCRUCIATING pain. I brought them home and they just laid on the ground howling in pain and wouldn’t move. I brought them back right away and I was told I could pay an additional $150 for Benadryl shots that would help with the pain immediately since they were shots vs. orally. They asked for me to leave my puppies there for two hours. I came back and you could hear the dogs both HOWLING in pain from the front door. I was in shock because I was then told that the Benadryl wasn’t going to help with the pain, only the progression of the injection reaction. I was completely mislead into paying them the additional $150 for no reason. I could have bought the Benadryl for $10 at the store and gave it to them orally. When I called to talk to the head of the facility, Sara Wilcox, I explained everything and yes, I am still upset because of the TRAUMATIZING experience. Her first reaction was to BLAME THE DOGS! She let me know that when my dogs were in there the last time they were howling in pain as well after receiving shots. Only ONE dog got a shot for nausea and there were zero side effects, no pain and not a peep out of the dog. So when she told me my DOGS did the same thing last time she lied and immediately put me on the defensive. I was met with “there’s nothing I can do for you, I have listened to you rant for 20 minutes”. No I’m sorry for the trauma it caused your family and your dogs, nothing! I explained that the other dogs in the litter also had the exact same shots had no reaction whatsoever, I was told that vaccines carry different stuff inside of them. When I asked what was inside of the vaccine that they administered, Sara’s reply was I’m not going to give that information to you. i couldn’t believe it, you are not going to tell me what you administered to my dog?? She then said you can go ahead and look it up if you want to know. I’ve been going there for years and I’ve never had such a horrible experience ever. Of course I will NEVER return and will be removing my 3 dogs and when I told Sara that her reply was for me to look up something called Not one more Vet and then I can educate myself on how great the work vets do. She then proceeded to let me know that she would not give me the name of the person that administered the shots (I wanted to make sure they were qualified) but she refused to give it to me “over the phone” and the persons name would be in the records, which makes no sense whatsoever unless they’re going to doctor the records. I let them know that I would be filing a complaint and to send them over ASAP and I was met with I am going to have doctors look at them and I will MAIL them to you and then I was hung up on. I HIGHLY recommend you STAY FAR AWAY from Pacific Animal Hospital.
