This place is good, and the staff is friendly. The downside is you will wait a while for longer appointments. The doctor is extremely thorough, which causes him to get backed up and patients a longer wait. Also, the doctor will lecture and reprimand you if you don't understand certain things, but it isn't common knowledge. Brightside they are open on Saturday. Ultimately, they aren't perfect, but my animals need to be seen somewhere, and they have a flexible schedule, and the vet cares. So, I am still coming here regardless.

Oxnard Veterinary Hospital, located at 651 S Ventura Rd, Oxnard, CA 93030, USA, serves as a Pet Hospital dedicated to providing veterinary care for the local community. For pet owners in Oxnard seeking medical services for their animal companions, Oxnard Veterinary Hospital offers a range of services with the convenience of a flexible schedule, including Saturday appointments. You can contact them at (805) 984-1850 or via mobile at +1 805-984-1850 for appointments and inquiries. The hospital's operations are geared towards serving the everyday health needs of pets.

The environment at Oxnard Veterinary Hospital presents a mixed picture based on customer experiences. On one hand, the staff is described as "friendly," suggesting a generally welcoming atmosphere upon arrival. The fact that they are "open on Saturday" provides a significant convenience for pet owners with busy weekday schedules, contributing positively to accessibility. However, it is also noted that clients "will wait a while for longer appointments" due to the doctor's "extremely thorough" approach, which can cause delays. While thoroughness in care is generally a positive attribute, the resulting extended wait times can impact the overall client experience. Furthermore, some feedback points to a less comfortable interpersonal environment, with one reviewer mentioning that the doctor might "lecture and reprimand you if you don't understand certain things," which can be "off-putting." Another client found the doctor "very strange" and perceived attempts to "upsell" services, which made them feel "bad" when electing not to purchase "add ons." This suggests that while the physical environment might be functional, the communication style and client interaction can sometimes be challenging for pet owners. The presence of these varied experiences indicates an environment that, while aiming for comprehensive care, may benefit from more consistent communication practices.

Oxnard Veterinary Hospital provides a range of veterinary services designed to address the health needs of pets. While specific details about their full suite of services are not explicitly provided in the reviews, the nature of a "Pet Hospital" typically implies a broad spectrum of care. This would generally include routine wellness examinations, vaccinations, and preventive care to maintain pet health and prevent common diseases. Given the mention of "longer appointments" due to the doctor being "extremely thorough," it suggests a detailed approach to diagnostics and treatment planning. Veterinary hospitals commonly offer in-house laboratory testing, digital radiography, and potentially ultrasound for comprehensive diagnostic capabilities. Surgical services, including routine procedures like spaying and neutering, as well as more complex operations, are also typical offerings. Dental care, microchipping for pet identification, and nutritional counseling are other common services provided by such facilities. The fact that the hospital sees animals for various needs, and the mention of having to "get my dogs records" from them, implies a standard range of medical treatments and record-keeping practices consistent with a general veterinary practice. The core focus appears to be on delivering thorough medical assessments and treatments for dogs and cats, supported by a flexible schedule that accommodates client needs.

The key features of Oxnard Veterinary Hospital, as gleaned from customer feedback, include the thoroughness of the veterinarian and the flexibility of their scheduling. The doctor's "extremely thorough" approach to examinations and diagnoses is noted, suggesting a commitment to comprehensive medical assessments. This meticulousness can be beneficial for pets requiring detailed attention to their health concerns. Another significant feature is their operating hours, specifically being "open on Saturday," which is a considerable convenience for pet owners who may struggle to schedule appointments during regular weekdays. This accessibility is a primary reason why some clients continue to utilize their services. However, a less positive feature highlighted is the potential for extended wait times due to the doctor's thoroughness, which can cause inconvenience for patients. Furthermore, the communication style of the doctor is described as potentially "lecturing and reprimanding" if clients don't grasp certain medical concepts, which can be perceived as off-putting. The accusation of "upselling" and the doctor's policy regarding the non-release of pet records directly to owners are also significant concerns raised by a past client, finding this practice "extremely shady." This policy conflicts with standard veterinary practices in many regions, where owners have a right to their pet's medical records. Therefore, while the thoroughness and flexible schedule are notable advantages, these are juxtaposed with concerns about communication style, perceived sales tactics, and record release policies.

From a promotional perspective, Oxnard Veterinary Hospital's strongest unique selling point is its "flexible schedule" and being "open on Saturday," which caters directly to the practical needs of pet owners with demanding schedules. This convenience is a significant draw that helps them retain clientele despite some noted downsides. The positive mention of "friendly staff" also contributes to a welcoming initial impression, which is important for client retention. However, promotional efforts are likely challenged by the negative feedback concerning perceived "upselling" tactics and a controversial policy regarding the release of pet records directly to owners. In an era where transparency and client autonomy are highly valued, such policies can deter potential new clients and lead existing ones to "go somewhere else." The mixed reviews, where one client states, "Ultimately, they aren't perfect, but my animals need to be seen somewhere, and they have a flexible schedule, and the vet cares. So, I am still coming here regardless," indicate that for some, the convenience and the underlying care for animals outweigh other concerns. For new users, it would be prudent to inquire directly about their policies regarding records and discuss their preferred communication style. While not explicitly stated, any promotional activities would likely focus on their accessibility, the dedication of the vet to the animal's well-being, and the convenience of their operating hours, particularly the Saturday availability, which remains a key differentiator in attracting and retaining clients in the competitive veterinary landscape.

I found this vet very off-putting. First they try to upsell you over and over again then the Dr. makes you feel bad when you elect to not purchase all the add ons. The Dr. doesn't really seem knowledgeable and is very strange to be honest. I elected to go somewhere else because I just didn't trust my dog was getting the best treatment. Now I am trying to get my dogs records and the Dr. has a policy that he will not release the records to the owners. I find that extremely shady. That is my dog and my money was paid to have services performed, and you will not give me her records. There are so many Vets around I would suggest going elsewhere.

Quality, compassionate care. I had to take my kitty Princess in to be euthanized yesterday. The staff were very nice and Dr. Feingold was amazing. He did a consultation where we went over everything. It was very thorough and helpful. They have these brochures to help with loss. That is so thoughtful and kind. I got to spend some time with my cat before we left. It was very good that I got my kisses in, as the last cat I did not. This is the place to go. The care is the finest and the compassion is real. UPDATE: We recently received a card in the mail from Dr. Feingold wishing us well about having to put down Princess. ANOTHER UPDATE 2-24-24: Dr. Feingold's office made a donation in Princess' name to the Companion Animal Memorial Fund. It supports studies into problems and afflictions facing a wide variety of different animals. Thank you so much, Dr. Feingold! Princess was a very special cat to me. She used to do this thing where she'd rub her cheek across my face. It was so cute. Thank you again!
