Welcome to Oxford Hills Veterinary Hospital

Oxford Hills Veterinary Hospital, situated at 136 Western Ave, South Paris, ME 04281, USA, operates as a Pet Hospital serving the local community. For pet owners in South Paris and the surrounding areas, understanding the services, environment, and features of this veterinary clinic is essential for making informed decisions about their animal companions' healthcare.

One customer review offers a positive perspective on Oxford Hills Veterinary Hospital. This reviewer describes the doctors and staff as "pleasant and professional." They highlight the clinic's ability to provide routine care for their dog and commend their efficiency in accommodating sick visits with quick appointments. Additionally, this reviewer appreciates the convenience of the hospital keeping their dog's food in stock, eliminating the worry of forgetting to place orders. Based on their experiences, this customer is quick to recommend Oxford Hills Veterinary Hospital.

However, another review presents a significantly contrasting experience. This reviewer, identifying as a disabled American veteran in Oxford with PTSD, contacted the hospital regarding the euthanasia of their beloved service dog. The feedback details a process involving multiple evaluation appointments, which the reviewer perceived as leading to a substantial financial burden. Consequently, this customer strongly recommends others to "stay away from this company" and advises "Buyer beware," expressing disappointment and using the phrase "Shame on them."

Given these two divergent accounts, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive picture of the environment and all services offered at Oxford Hills Veterinary Hospital. The positive review suggests a clinic that is organized, efficient in handling appointments, and provides convenient services like stocking pet food. The professionalism and pleasantness of the doctors and staff are also noted as positive attributes.

On the other hand, the negative review raises concerns about the process and cost associated with euthanasia services, particularly for a service animal of a disabled veteran. The requirement for multiple evaluations leading to a high cost was perceived as insensitive and potentially exploitative by this reviewer. This feedback could indicate a specific policy or approach to euthanasia cases that may differ from other veterinary clinics.

While the positive review mentions routine care and sick visits, the specific range of medical services offered by Oxford Hills Veterinary Hospital is not detailed in the provided information. Typically, a Pet Hospital would offer a variety of services, including preventative care (vaccinations, parasite control), diagnostics (laboratory tests, imaging), medical treatments for illnesses and injuries, and surgical procedures. However, based solely on these reviews, it is not possible to confirm the full scope of their services.

Similarly, information regarding any special features of the clinic, such as specialized equipment, areas of veterinary expertise, or specific programs, is not available. The positive review mentions the convenience of pet food stocking, which could be considered a value-added service for their clients.

Regarding promotional information, neither review mentions any specific offers or discounts. It is common for veterinary clinics to have introductory offers for new clients or wellness packages for routine care, but there is no indication of such promotions in the provided feedback for Oxford Hills Veterinary Hospital.

In conclusion, the customer reviews for Oxford Hills Veterinary Hospital in South Paris, ME, offer contrasting perspectives. One reviewer experienced pleasant and professional service for routine care and appreciated the convenience of quick appointments and pet food stocking. However, another reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with the perceived cost and process associated with seeking euthanasia for their service dog. Local users considering Oxford Hills Veterinary Hospital should weigh these differing experiences. The positive feedback suggests a capable clinic for general pet care, while the negative feedback warrants caution and further inquiry, particularly for services like euthanasia where cost and process can be sensitive issues. It would be advisable for potential clients to contact the hospital directly to inquire about their specific needs and to understand their policies and pricing for various services to make an informed decision about their pet's healthcare.

I just called these people regarding the euthanasia of my beloved Service dog. I’m a the disabled American veteran in Oxford with PTSD. They told me I would need an evaluation appointment, then this evaluation and that evaluation and it all led up to a ton of money. Highly recommend you stay away from this company Buyer beware. Shame on them.

I've chosen them as a veterinarian for both my lynx Stewie and my Yoranian puppy as soon as I moved to the area and there great w my animal's! Not crazy prices either, they gave him a dose of flea and tick for free and a heartworm prevention chewie for 30 days each both times I brought my puppy there and they cured his yeast infection of the ear as he had it when I bought him and didn't know so I'm very happy w how my fur baby was treated!

Do NOT let Dr. Kate Holden near your animals. She is not only incompetent but also blatantly rude. She left my horses’ neck like a cheese grater after being unable to hit a vein, thus stabbing him in the muscle numerous times. My horse, who was previously perfect for the vet and never had an issue, is now traumatized after being stabbed repeatedly in the completely wrong area. Disgusting.
