We recently had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to our beloved Russian Blue after his battle with cancer. From the start, we knew that an at-home euthanasia was incredibly important to us. He experienced significant anxiety traveling to the vet, and we wanted his final moments to be in his favorite place, surrounded by those who loved him dearly. Late on a Monday night, during the holiday week, his condition suddenly worsened. After hours of phone calls with our vet and more than ten mobile veterinary services, we were repeatedly met with unavailable schedules. Finally, through a series of referrals, we connected with Dr. Sarah Owens. Dr. Owens went above and beyond—completely rearranging her day and rescheduling other appointments to ensure she could come to us as quickly as possible. Her compassion, empathy, and calm presence turned an unimaginably difficult moment into one filled with peace and dignity. She gave us the gift of saying goodbye the way we had hoped: at home, in a familiar and comforting space, with love and care guiding every step. We are deeply grateful for Dr. Owens’ kindness and professionalism. If you are ever in need of this service, I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thank you, Dr. Owens.

Jan 07, 2025 · Eric WintersDr. Owens performed an at-home euthanasia service for our cat. We could not have asked for better. She was calm, kind, and understanding. She confirmed and reassured us that we were making the right call to ease his suffering, and guided us through the process with candor. The whole process was easy, respectful, and extremely considerate of our both our pet's life and our emotions. I would highly recommend her services.
Mar 04, 2025 · Andrew MendelsohnWe had a home euthanasia with Dr. Owens for our sweet pitbull pup. Luna was diagnosed with lymphoma at 4 years old and progressed fairly quickly. Dr. Owens came to our home and with the upmost kindness and compassion let us stay with our pup on her favorite blanket on our couch while she passed over the rainbow bridge. Her care during this most difficult time allowed us to avoid a traumatizing visit to the vet, and our other dog was able to be present to help with his understanding of losing his little sister. It’s the worst thing in the world to have to say goodbye but Dr. Owens made it the best possible experience.
Nov 18, 2023 · Brigit NewtonDr Owens answered in an emergency. Our little dog was 15.5 years old and had a very sudden deterioration in condition, almost overnight. I called several vets for at-home euthanasia during the day and no one had availability until later in the week. By midnight, it was clear that he was suffering greatly, so I called vets at 3am intending to leave a message for the morning. Dr Owens actually picked up my emergency call and kindly offered to rearrange her schedule in the morning to be able to come by at 8am. I was so relieved that he would only have to hold on for a few more hours. She was extremely professional, communicative, and respectful, explained what was happening, and gave us our space with our dog both before and after. We never felt rushed. He was very peaceful. The paw print and private cremation turned out beautifully. I am very grateful that because she made time to come by, we were able to arrange an emergency at-home service rather than relying on the emergencies 24-hr service at the local clinic. It would have broken my heart to drive him to the hospital and drive back without him. When she took him away, he got to sit in the front seat of her vehicle wrapped in a small blanket, and I was happy he’d get to ride shotgun one last time. We only want the best for our pets and I feel I found the best in Dr. Owens. Thank you, Dr Owens!
Nov 15, 2023 · Jessica GuoDr Sara Owens is without a doubt the most compassionate and kind veterinarian I have ever known. She came to my home the same day my little 12 year old cat took a turn for the worst. He had been diagnosed with cancer and had stopped eating then last evening he could no longer move his back legs and was crying out in pain when he tried to move. I called every in home euthanasia vet I knew but she was the only one willing to come out. She immediately called me back on her way from Onalaska. She kept in contact throughout the trip and arrived at my home at 10pm. She treated my little cat gently, with kindness and true compassion when she helped him find peace. I can not recommend Dr Owens enough and will not hesitate to call her again.
