Well it was our first time going there and a new lady who was just incredibly helpful and cute to boot managed to assist us with all of our cat questions and needs. It was Elaine if I remember correctly? She was very informative for it being her first day and I was pleasantly surprised at her wealth of knowledge pertaining to the Issues at hand. Someone must love that woman immensely because she seemed very happy to be there and also expressed her passion for helping and working with animals. She's definitely a cat lady. I would recommend this veterinary clinic to anyone wanting the best care for affordable prices. They also offer animal housing for those going out of town which is always a bonus. From start to finish there wasn't any portion of our experience to pick apart. Thank you so much for patience and politeness the entire way throughout the process. They say good help is hard to find these days but everyone went above and beyond for us here. If we could have given six stars, we would have. Definitely our new Vet from here on out.

Our commitment extends to creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for both you and your pet. We understand that visiting a veterinary hospital can sometimes be a stressful experience for animals, and our team strives to make each visit as calm and positive as possible. While specific details about the clinic's ambiance and facilities are not explicitly mentioned in the provided information, a positive first-time customer experience suggests a friendly and helpful atmosphere. One reviewer specifically highlighted the helpfulness and pleasant demeanor of a new staff member, Elaine, indicating a focus on customer service and a welcoming environment. This initial positive interaction implies a clinic that values patient comfort and owner satisfaction.
Orchard View Veterinary Center offers a diverse array of veterinary services to address various pet health needs. Based on the limited information, we can infer several key service areas. The mention of assisting with "cat questions and needs" explicitly indicates that feline care is a significant part of their practice. This likely includes routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite prevention, diagnostics, and treatment for various feline illnesses and injuries. Similarly, as a general veterinary center, they undoubtedly provide comprehensive care for dogs, encompassing preventative medicine, medical treatments, surgical procedures (if applicable, though not explicitly stated), and emergency care.
A notable feature mentioned in a customer review is the availability of "animal housing for those going out of town." This boarding service provides a convenient and safe option for pet owners who need temporary care for their animals while traveling. This suggests that Orchard View Veterinary Center has facilities to comfortably and securely house pets, ensuring they receive proper care and attention in the absence of their owners. This is a valuable feature for local pet owners seeking a trusted place to leave their animals.
While specific details about advanced medical equipment or specialized services are not provided, the positive feedback regarding the thoroughness of care and the staff's knowledge suggests a commitment to quality medical attention. The reviewer who was "pleasantly surprised at wealth of knowledge pertaining to the Issues at hand" implies that the staff is well-trained and capable of addressing pet health concerns effectively. This, coupled with the recommendation for "anyone wanting the best care for affordable prices," points towards a clinic that strives to balance high-quality veterinary services with accessible pricing.
However, it is important to acknowledge a negative review that raises concerns about potential bias towards a specific breed. One customer expressed disappointment with their experiences with Dr. Cheri Heppner, alleging "disrespectful comments" and a "negative bias against the French Bulldog breed." This review highlights the importance of professional conduct and unbiased care in veterinary practice. While this is a single negative experience, it is crucial for prospective clients to be aware of this feedback and consider it alongside the positive experiences shared by other customers. Responsible pet ownership involves finding a veterinarian who treats all animals with respect and focuses solely on their health and well-being, regardless of breed.
Despite the single negative review concerning breed bias, the other feedback paints a picture of a caring and helpful veterinary practice. The first reviewer enthusiastically praised the clinic, highlighting the helpfulness of the staff, the affordability of the services, and the added bonus of animal housing. They were so impressed that they stated, "If we could have given six stars, we would have. Definitely our new Vet from here on out." This strong endorsement speaks volumes about the positive experiences many pet owners have had at Orchard View Veterinary Center.
In summary, Orchard View Veterinary Center, operating as a Pet Hospital in Salem, Oregon, appears to be a facility that generally provides positive experiences for pet owners. They offer a range of services for cats and dogs, including general check-ups, treatments, and the valuable addition of animal housing. The staff is often described as helpful, knowledgeable, and passionate about animal care. While one review raises a serious concern about potential breed bias from a specific veterinarian, the overall sentiment from other customers suggests a commitment to providing good care at affordable prices. Jan 14, 2025 · James GrantI am extremely disappointed with my experiences at Orchard View Veterinary Center with Dr. Cheri Heppner. It has become evident that she holds a negative bias against the French Bulldog breed, as she has repeatedly made disrespectful comments about both my dog and the breed in general. As a pet owner, I expect a veterinarian to focus on my dog's health and well-being, not to share personal opinions that have no bearing on the care being provided. Regardless of breed, every pet deserves respect and quality medical attention. I sincerely hope Dr. Heppner can set aside personal biases and treat all patients with the professionalism and compassion they deserve. Do better!
Mar 13, 2025 · Kristi MarieOmg this place is amazing and I feel so lucky to have found them! Let’s start with today our dog has such severe allergies we were panicked and took her to the emergency vet but this place was still able to get her in same day for her cytopoint injection! Like they handle us canceling and rescheduling so patiently and I’m forever grateful because she’s now on the mend. 2) they saved my dogs from fear of the vet. My dogs always loved the vets up until the vet we went to before Dr Hepburn and the way they treated and manhandled them caused a lot of issues. They used to love the vets we joked that it’s their version of Disneyland. Everything changed when the other vet manhandled them roughly. So after explaining all of that they went so slow and calm and we have been able to make vast improvement towards their feelings about the vet and I’m so happy. Thank yall for being so kind patient and caring people. (1st picture is how she normally looks and 2nd how she got)
Aug 19, 2024 · Elizabeth JimenezWe’ve been clients of Dr. Crawford since December 2000. We had to investigate her movements to clinics to ensure our pets received the best care. All of our animals have lived way beyond the expected lifespans. Cats 20 & 21 years; shepherd/lab mix 17 years; Newfoundland 13 years; collie almost 14 years and a beagle with Crohn’s disease also around 14 years old. We have 4 giant dogs (180 lbs to 130 lbs) and our daughter’s Pyrenees puppy now wouldn’t take them anywhere else. She also calls personally about our pets and advocates with OSU for special surgery for our 2 rescue dogs who need new knees, metal plates, and titanium hip replacements. And the Newfie puppy who needs two elbow surgeries and a shoulder surgery. She followed up on thanksgiving! ..
Dec 30, 2023 · Aileen CollinsThe vet tech was rude and did not make eye contact when talking to me She wasn’t ’’t gentle with my cat - wasn’t empathetic. Dr. Crawford is nice but I feel that she didn’t do enough basic testing before referring to neurologist. When she called to let me know about the neurologist she didn’t even ask if my cat had been eating or drinking water The basics were completely overlooked. I am getting a second opinion.
