After struggling to find urgent care for my 13-year-old cat, who was suddenly straining to use the bathroom, I contacted multiple veterinary centers — including a 24-hour emergency vet in Rochester — and was repeatedly turned away. We were told there were no openings and advised to try calling facilities in Buffalo or Corning, despite the urgency of our situation. It was incredibly disheartening and left us feeling helpless. When I explained our situation to Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center their kindness was felt through the phone. From the moment we arrived, the staff treated my cat with urgency, compassion, and respect. A special thank you to Dr. Carbone, DVM, whose kindness and professionalism helped bring comfort and dignity to an incredibly difficult moment. He was patient, thorough, and deeply empathetic — not just to my cat, but to my husband and I as well. While my cat ultimately passed, I will never forget the care he received. Orchard Park made space for him when others wouldn’t, and their support meant the world. This is what veterinary care should look like — compassionate, community-focused, and truly dedicated to the well-being of animals and the people who love them. I would recommend Orchard Park without hesitation to anyone in need of emergency care. Their kindness made all the difference.

Apr 14, 2025 · Michelle PrueMy girl Xena had a seizure and her regular vet was unable to see her. The triage staff came for her almost immediately to get her vitals and the doctor clearly explained our options to proceed. Unfortunately she had a cluster of seizures the next day and the difficult decision was made to euthanize her. The rainbow room at their facility is reminiscent of a living room, equipped with plenty of tissues. This is an excellent and compassionate facility.
May 12, 2025 · Amanda RMy dog had been going there for a little over a year for echocardiograms. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Hall. She is so kind and so thorough and incredibly knowledgeable. Milo was diagnosed with congestive heart failure about a month ago and Dr. Hall was so compassionate. She did everything she could to help him. She increased his medication to keep him comfortable and he seemed better. Unfortunately a couple weeks later, he got worse and I had to put him down. I received a card from Dr. Hall and her team and the vet who put Milo down. It was so sweet of them to send a card. If I get another dog, I would absolutely take her/him to see Dr. Hall again!
Nov 09, 2024 · Katie FricanoIt's so dejecting when your dog is suffering and your daughter is in tears and you sit on a cold hard bench for almost 2 hours with no contact with anyone, while my daughter repeated tells her best friend everything will be alright. No wonder OP Veterinary Medical Center has signs everywhere saying don't be "belligerent to our employees", because if you treated people and their pets with the respect kindness, and compassion they deserve, you wouldn't need to say that. We were forced to leave, after finally speaking to a tech, due to the late time and no promise to be able to see our dog for another hour. Please don't fall for the empty apology that is sure to follow this, I'm not only upset because my pet was injured and in pain, I am upset because, in addition to our familial pain regarding our dog, this organization treated my 10 year old daughter and myself with utter disregard and in a reprehensible manner. In regard to your response: Then you should have told us that instead of leaving us hanging for 2 hours. Simple customer service, don't treat them like they are not as important as your other customers, as you suggested, and expect them to understand or care. I'm sure the other customers were more than happy that you didn't disregard them, but for a father to sit ignored for 2 hours with his dog in pain and his 10 year old daughter completely distraught is inconceivable in the minds of most people. You can look at this response as the call you requested as a means of learning how to not treating others in the same reprehensible way. I do hope you take this message to heart.
May 22, 2025 · David HarveyA REAL Class act. Coco had a complicated situation and I felt she was in the best care. All the Doctors, Staff were very compassionate and that is crucial to an animal lover/owner. Please don't lose that!!!! I appreciated the updates and the promptness of care. My Dad and I are very grateful!! Just wish you were closer (I was 90 mins away).......I think some of the negative reviews are just emotional bursts - which I can understand - we want our babies to live forever. A special thank you to Justin Bulega, DVM and Brent Carbone, DVM. We miss you Coco. It came to a point when even if the battle was turning in the right direction, the war was lost.
