Friendly staff, VERY affordable. For those of you complaining they never answer the phone, send an email. I never had problems getting a hold of them via email. Just make sure you’re clear about wanting a spay/neuter. There is a bit of a wait to get on the list for spay/neuter, we waited about a month and due to holiday travel had to schedule for January instead of December. Keep in mind they’re incredibly busy and probably the most affordable spay and neuter clinic in the Akron area, so it’s understandable for them not to answer the phone. They took care of my babies and sent them home in a cone which they absolutely hate haha. Easy check in and check out process, they took copies of my kitties’ rabies shot records and took them back immediately. For pick up time, easy payment process and then I was reunited with the babies. Surprisingly no meds sent home with us for recovery, but they seem to be in no pain other than the annoyance from the cone of shame. Thanks so much One of a Kind! 🐱 🐾

One of A Kind Pet Rescue Spay & Neuter Clinic Introduce
Welcome to the local introduction of One of A Kind Pet Rescue Spay & Neuter Clinic, a dedicated pet hospital serving the Akron, Ohio area. As a vital part of the local pet care landscape, this clinic specializes in providing affordable spay and neuter services, playing a crucial role in responsible pet ownership and community animal welfare. While their primary focus is on these essential surgical procedures, their commitment to the well-being of animals shines through in their customer interactions and the care they provide.
Located at 1700 W Exchange St, Akron, OH 44313, USA, One of A Kind Pet Rescue Spay & Neuter Clinic operates with the mission of making spay and neuter services accessible to a wider range of pet owners. This accessibility is frequently highlighted in customer feedback, with many praising the clinic for its affordability. In a region where veterinary costs can sometimes be a barrier to essential care, One of A Kind stands out as a budget-friendly option for these critical procedures.
The environment of the clinic, while not explicitly detailed in the provided information, can be inferred from customer reviews. The repeated mention of "friendly staff" suggests a welcoming and compassionate atmosphere. This is a crucial aspect of any pet hospital, as it helps to ease the anxiety of both the pet and the owner during what can be a stressful experience. The positive interactions with the staff contribute significantly to the overall positive perception of the clinic.
The core services offered by One of A Kind Pet Rescue Spay & Neuter Clinic, as the name suggests, are spay and neuter surgeries for cats and dogs. These routine procedures are vital for controlling pet overpopulation, reducing the risk of certain health problems in animals, and often leading to calmer and better-behaved pets. The reviews indicate that the clinic handles these procedures efficiently and with care. Customers have reported easy check-in and check-out processes, streamlining the experience for pet owners.
One notable feature mentioned by a customer is the practice of sending pets home with a cone (Elizabethan collar) to prevent them from licking or biting their surgical incisions. While the pet in the review understandably disliked the cone, this practice demonstrates the clinic's commitment to ensuring proper post-operative healing and preventing complications. The fact that the clinic took copies of rabies vaccination records also indicates their adherence to necessary health protocols and responsible pet care practices.
Another significant feature highlighted in the reviews is the seemingly quick recovery of the animals post-surgery. One customer with kittens noted that their pets acted "like nothing ever happened" upon returning home, with the anesthesia wearing off rapidly and no apparent pain or irritation. While individual experiences can vary, this feedback suggests that the clinic utilizes appropriate anesthesia protocols and post-operative care to minimize discomfort for the animals.
It is important to note a point of feedback regarding communication. One reviewer mentioned that getting through to the clinic via phone could be challenging, suggesting that they are often very busy. However, this same reviewer offered a valuable tip: contacting the clinic via email. They reported consistent success in reaching the clinic and receiving responses through this method, especially when clearly stating the need for a spay or neuter appointment. This suggests that while phone lines may be overwhelmed due to high demand, the clinic does have alternative communication channels in place.
The same reviewer also mentioned a potential wait time for scheduling spay/neuter appointments, indicating a wait of about a month in their case. This further underscores the popularity and high demand for the clinic's affordable services. Pet owners in the Akron area should be aware that while the prices are competitive, some advance planning and patience may be required when scheduling procedures.
Regarding post-operative medication, one customer was surprised that no pain medication was sent home with their pets. However, they also noted that their pets seemed to be in no pain beyond the annoyance of the cone. This could indicate that the clinic utilizes long-acting pain relief during the surgery itself, or that they assess each animal's needs individually and only prescribe medication when deemed necessary. Pet owners should always feel comfortable discussing pain management protocols with the veterinary staff.
In terms of promotional information, the most compelling aspect of One of A Kind Pet Rescue Spay & Neuter Clinic is its affordability. The reviews consistently emphasize the cost-effectiveness of their services, positioning them as a valuable resource for pet owners seeking budget-friendly spay and neuter options in the Akron area. This affordability does not appear to compromise the quality of care, as evidenced by the positive feedback regarding the staff and the seemingly smooth surgical and recovery processes.
For local users in Singapore who may be seeking similar services for their pets, while One of A Kind Pet Rescue Spay & Neuter Clinic is geographically located in the USA, the principles they embody – affordable, accessible spay and neuter services with a focus on animal welfare – are universal. When looking for pet hospitals in Singapore that offer spay and neuter procedures, consider clinics that are transparent about their pricing, have friendly and communicative staff (check online reviews for local clinics), and prioritize the comfort and well-being of your pet throughout the process. Look for clinics that clearly explain the pre-operative and post-operative care instructions and are responsive to your questions and concerns.
In conclusion, One of A Kind Pet Rescue Spay & Neuter Clinic in Akron, Ohio, stands out as an affordable and well-regarded pet hospital specializing in spay and neuter services. Their friendly staff, efficient processes, and commitment to the care of the animals they treat have earned them positive feedback from numerous pet owners in the area. While phone communication may be challenging due to their busy schedule, reaching them via email is recommended. Potential clients should also be prepared for a possible wait time for appointments due to the high demand for their services. Jan 08, 2025 · Callie SSuper nice people here. We had 5 month old, brother and sister kittens fixed . I will say that when we brought them home, to my surprise, they acted like nothing ever happened. The Anesthesia was out of their system very quickly. No pain or irritation! We did not leave the cone on the female's head like instructed. It was a risk that we took and she had no problem. I'm not saying that is what you should do. I Highly recommend, One of A Kind, for your pets needs.
Apr 01, 2025 · Keith CrumleyPut in an application online for a dog we wanted to meet and then called to make sure we could do a meet and greet with the dog there and our personal dog. We initially asked for a hold so we can meet the dog because we know rescues are first come first serve but we were told there are no holds and we are welcome to come at 6 with our own dog. After we drove there with our dog we were told that we are no longer able to meet her because someone else has put in an application for a meet and greet with the same dog but for the next day later in the evening and I guess that holds more wait because they came in and did an application. Where as we work and had to do it online. If the dog was no longer available we should've been called back and informed or the dog should've been taken off the site since it was pending adoption. Very disappointed with my overall experience..
Apr 04, 2025 · Maddy :-/This place is amazing I got my cat neutered. They are affordable so nice and super caring! Above and beyond!
Jan 28, 2025 · Zina BranneyI emailed asking for prices and was told it was $80.00 to spay my cat. Great! emailed back answering all the questions and I received a call on March 7th to get her scheduled. I was told it was an additional $25.00 for rabies vaccine. Which was fine! When I went to pick her up I was surprised that the bill was $135.00. I asked if it was for the pain medication, she said no she received an injection and more than likely wouldn't need pain medication. So I asked well it should be $105.00 what is the extra charge for? She proceeded to tell me that prices went up March 1st, well I was surprised because nowhere in the email did it state starting march 1st prices were going to go up, not only that but the woman I spoke to on the phone to get her scheduled never once said there was a price difference..... In my opinion that's super unprofessional. Not only that but there are some people out there that don't have a whole lot so needing to be clear as far as pricing I feel like should definitely be a no brainer. Not impressed.
