I took my 16 year old cat, Shadow, for a routine checkup. It was me and my cat's first time here and my experience was positive. It was easy to make an appointment over the phone. The receptionist was friendly and polite. The vet tech was professional and knowledgeable and explained everything that was going to happen. The doctor was friendly and kind and recommended the available procedures for my cat. If I followed all the recommendations, it would of got really expensive for me. So, I only got the checkup. My cat is in good health and I felt that he didn't need the extra work. There is no pressure. They, simply, lay out the treatment options and prices and have you make the decision. They recommend what they think is necessary but, it's your call. In the end, you have to decide what's best for your animal and live with the decision.

Olympic Pet Hospital Introduce

Welcome to the introduction of Olympic Pet Hospital, a dedicated pet care platform categorized as a Pet Hospital, located at 4125 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90019, USA. Serving the local community and beyond, Olympic Pet Hospital aims to provide a range of veterinary services and potentially offer related goods for sale to ensure the health and well-being of your beloved animal companions. You can reach them at (323) 525-0033 or their mobile number +1 323-525-0033.

Based on available information and real customer reviews, we aim to provide an objective overview of what you can expect from Olympic Pet Hospital. It's important to note that individual experiences can vary, and we encourage you to consider all aspects when making decisions about your pet's care.

Environment and Atmosphere:

One customer review describes their first visit as a "positive experience." This suggests that the hospital maintains a welcoming and comfortable environment for both pet owners and their animals. A friendly and polite receptionist can contribute significantly to a positive initial impression, making the process of scheduling appointments and seeking information smoother and less stressful for pet owners who may already be concerned about their animal's health.

The mention of a "professional and knowledgeable" vet tech further indicates a commitment to competent and skilled staff who can effectively communicate with pet owners about procedures and treatments. This transparency and willingness to explain things can help build trust and alleviate anxiety associated with veterinary visits.

Services Offered:

The reviews provide insights into some of the services offered at Olympic Pet Hospital. These include:

  • Routine Checkups: As mentioned in one review, the hospital provides routine checkups, which are essential for preventative care and early detection of potential health issues in pets.
  • Emergency Care: Another review references bringing a dog in for an emergency, indicating that the hospital may offer services for urgent medical situations. However, the experience described in this review regarding emergency fees and scheduling warrants careful consideration.
  • Diagnostic Procedures: While not explicitly detailed, the recommendation of "available procedures" during a checkup suggests that the hospital is equipped to perform various diagnostic tests to assess a pet's health.
  • Treatment Options: The hospital outlines treatment options and their associated prices, empowering pet owners to make informed decisions about their pet's care based on their circumstances.

It is reasonable to infer that a full-service pet hospital like Olympic Pet Hospital would likely offer a broader range of services, which may include:

  • Vaccinations
  • Dental care
  • Surgical procedures (both routine and emergency)
  • Parasite prevention and treatment
  • Microchipping
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Management of chronic conditions
  • Possibly euthanasia and cremation services

For a comprehensive list of services, it is advisable to contact Olympic Pet Hospital directly.

Features and Approach to Care:

One of the key features highlighted in a positive review is the lack of pressure when it comes to treatment recommendations. The hospital staff apparently lays out the options and associated costs, allowing the pet owner to make the final decision. This approach respects the owner's autonomy and financial considerations, fostering a collaborative environment between the veterinarian and the pet owner.

The reviewer appreciated the fact that while the vet recommended what they believed was necessary, the ultimate decision rested with the pet owner. This suggests a patient-centered approach where the veterinarian acts as an advisor, providing professional guidance without being pushy.

However, it is crucial to acknowledge the contrasting experience described in another review. This customer reported feeling overcharged and treated without sympathy, particularly in an emergency situation. The high emergency fee and the perceived lack of willingness to accommodate the pet owner's urgent needs raise concerns about the hospital's policies and customer service in such situations. The reviewer also mentioned a previous incident of being charged a significant amount for a very brief consultation, which further contributes to a negative perception of the hospital's billing practices.

These conflicting reviews underscore the importance of considering multiple perspectives and potentially seeking further information or clarification from the hospital regarding their fees, emergency protocols, and customer service approach.

Promotional Information:

Based on the provided information, there is no specific promotional material available. Typically, pet hospitals might offer promotions such as discounts on first visits, vaccination packages, senior pet wellness programs, or seasonal specials. To learn about any current promotions or special offers at Olympic Pet Hospital, it is recommended to visit their website (if available) or contact them directly via phone.

Summary and Considerations for Local Users:

Olympic Pet Hospital in Los Angeles is presented as a Pet Hospital offering a range of veterinary services. One customer experienced a positive routine checkup, highlighting a friendly staff, clear explanations, and a no-pressure approach to treatment recommendations. This suggests that for routine care, the hospital may provide a satisfactory experience.

However, another customer reported significant negative experiences, including perceived overcharging, lack of sympathy during an emergency, and high fees for minimal consultation time. These concerns should be carefully considered by local users seeking veterinary care.

When choosing a pet hospital, it is advisable to consider the following:

  • Your pet's specific needs: Does your pet require routine care, specialized treatment, or emergency services?
  • The hospital's reputation: While the provided reviews offer some insight, it may be beneficial to seek additional reviews from other sources online.
  • Transparency of fees: Inquire about the cost of services, especially emergency fees and consultation charges, upfront.
  • The hospital's approach to communication and patient care: Do they prioritize clear communication and a compassionate approach?
  • The hospital's facilities and equipment: Are they equipped to handle the medical needs of your pet?
  • Location and accessibility: Is the hospital conveniently located for you, especially in case of emergencies?

For local users in the vicinity of 4125 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, Olympic Pet Hospital presents a potential option for veterinary care. However, given the mixed reviews, it is recommended to conduct further research, potentially visit the clinic for an initial consultation (if offered), and ask detailed questions about their services, fees, and emergency protocols before entrusting them with your pet's health. Ultimately, the best choice of veterinary care depends on your individual needs and your pet's specific requirements.

Worst service ever!!!! This place treated me with no sympathy. They always try to overcharge me for everything. They were trying to charge me $200 for bringing in my dog today as an emergency fee. They weren't even nice enough to try to squeeze me in a schedule. Why would you want to go to a vet that has no sympathy over the pet owner but has no problem offering to charge you more? I've also had previous incident where I went to this vet spent less than a minute having the vet look over my pet and charge me $140 for doing nothing! Literally a minute. If you want to be overcharged then be my guest!

The dangerous incompetence here risks your pet’s life. My dog was scheduled for an anesthetized procedure and, knowing anesthesia can sometimes be fatal, I asked repeatedly for the vet to email me pre and post operation instructions. The staff repeatedly blew off my requests, acting like they were annoyance. I first asked at the time of scheduling the procedure but was told they’d automatically be sent a week before. When I still hadn’t received anything a week before I called again to request them and was told in an annoyed manner that they will be sent. The DAY BEFORE THE OPERATION, I AGAIN ASKED and again received nothing except an email asking me to confirm that I was proceeding w the procedure. I have been a longtime client here but obviously did not go thru w it and will not be further risking my pet’s life here.

After kidney failure, my dog was euthanized at Olympic Hospital. The Vet and front people were kind and sensitive on that December morning, and I am grateful to the staff. My 2-stars, however, is due to what happened 3 months earlier. I previously brought my dog in because he seemed “out of sorts.” The Vet recommended an antibiotic shot at the time, and asked us to return for Labs if my concerns persisted. I agreed and after the Convenia injection, took my dog home. That was September. Three months later he was back at the hospital, and his kidneys had failed. My regret is why the Labs weren’t performed on the earlier visit. Because then my dog would have been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, and his final three months would have been different. I could have attended to him more, taken better care of my little friend, instead of losing him so suddenly. Our last three months would’ve played out.. just differently. Looking back on it, all those issues my dog was having in late summer pointed to chronic kidney disease. Of course on that September visit, my babbling made it impossible for the Vet to suspect the kidneys. Yet at the same time the Labs should have been recommended. Instead of just a Convenia shot. My dog was a senior dog with weight loss. (At the same time, and I’ll kick myself forever, I should’ve asked for the Labs. Rating myself a 1-star.) I realize many pet hospitals order Labs with every visit regardless of need, as the Labs generate revenue. Olympic Pet Hospital is not one of them. But in my case, not doing the Labs in September had heartbreaking consequences for my brave dog and me. (But this really is a good pet hospital, despite my review, and my advice to other pet owners, ask for the Labs.)

My dog Luna got an itchy ear right after we moved, luckily I found Olympic pet hospital, they did an exam on her ears and ensured she was healthy otherwise! Friendly, kind, understanding of anxious dogs, and prices are very good. Highly recommend and will be returning!
