Features

Several key **features** define the experience at Old Town Veterinary Hospital. A prominent feature, as highlighted by client feedback, is the dedication and passion of the entire staff. Clients consistently note that they "love their jobs and what they do," creating a warm and professional atmosphere. Dr. Miller, in particular, has been praised as "wonderful" and a veterinarian who clients "really appreciate having." This indicates a team that is not only skilled but also deeply committed to animal welfare and client satisfaction.

The hospital emphasizes building "long-lasting relationships with the entire family to promote long-term health, wellbeing, and happiness." This personalized approach suggests that they take the time to get to know individual pets and their owners, fostering trust and open communication, which are crucial for effective veterinary care. They commit to "practicing personalized, compassionate, high-quality medicine with open communication and integrity."

However, it is important to objectively address all feedback. One customer review mentioned concerns about "upselling" and high costs, particularly regarding medication and shots, suggesting that the clinic's pricing might be perceived as expensive by some. The client noted a situation where daily medication was included on the bill despite their request for a prescription for an online pharmacy. While the clinic eventually removed the charge, this feedback points to an area where communication regarding billing and prescription options could be clearer to prevent client frustration. It's common for veterinary practices to provide in-house medications for convenience and immediate care, but client preference for external pharmacies should be respected and facilitated. Despite this, the client acknowledged that owners "do it because you love your pets," indicating that the quality of care, albeit costly, is still valued.

The hospital also highlights its commitment to "progressive care" and "old time values," indicating a blend of modern medical advancements with a traditional, compassionate approach. They emphasize "individual care, education, and commitment to life-long learning," suggesting that their team stays updated on the latest veterinary practices to provide the best possible treatments.

Phrases like "Always great service in helping us get our pup feeling happy again" and "Everybody at the office was very nice and professional" underscore their commitment to positive client interactions.

When I first started going here the service was great. The last 2 times I have gone to this vet have been a terrible experience. They always try to up sell me. My dog had bad allergies and needs medication & a shot to control her allergies. The shot I need to get is every 4 months. I brought her in about a month early this time because her allergies were acting up. I agreed to get her the normal shot that she gets every 4 months then I asked for a prescription 3,4 times so I can auto order her daily meds on Petmeds. They gave me the bill to review and her daily meds were on there.@ $200 cost. Once again I asked them I need the prescription to order the meds off of pet meds. The veterinarian said but these are her correct dose. I was like yes they auto ship them to me. She finally took it off my bill. Even the one shot & exam was a crazy amount of $. But you do it because you love your pets. This place has gotten way too expensive. I will be looking for a new vet.

I love this Veterinary hospital. Their doctors are absolutely fantastic and all of their staff are kind and caring. I recommend them to everybody in the area who asks for a recommendation to a vet. I actually drive past a few other veterinary hospitals to get to Old Town Veterinary Hospital, because I think they are worth it. They are so very caring and my little dog loves going there.
