My parents brought in our 13-year-old dog—healthy, happy, and just in for a routine shot. During the visit, the veterinarian pressed hard on his abdomen while "checking for a mass," and in doing so, actually ruptured a mass that was on his spleen. The person seemed completely clueless and unqualified to be handling our dog in the first place. Shortly after returning home, he began breathing abnormally and became unresponsive. We rushed him back to the clinic the same day, only to be told that the damage was severe and surgery would be extremely risky, with very little chance of survival. We had to make the heartbreaking decision to put my brother’s dog down—on my brother’s birthday. To add insult to injury, the clinic is charging a fee to take care of his remains, even though their negligence caused this. Our dog should still be here. This was completely avoidable, and we are left grieving the sudden and unnecessary loss of a beloved family member. I would not trust this clinic with any animal, ever again.

The vets and staff here are wonderful. Very knowledgeable and friendly. This is where I take all my foster cats. Excellent care.

The doctors & technicians here are top notch & they seem to have massive hearts with what they do. I’ve been to many veterinary clinics from moving locations & only 1 Dr at another vet gave this impression. If you’re looking for a place to bring your loved ones I’d encourage anyone to try here.

We have been seeing Dr. Hensen for over 20 years now. He has excellent staff members. He spent many years finding the best of the best. All but one of his employees has more experience than he does. They do stay busy all the time. It will cost you an arm and a leg each time you go. It's extremely sad to say, but it's more about the money than it is about taking care of your loved one. It's like that at all the other ones. I hope this helps someone.

My family has used the Oak Ridge Veterinary Hospital in Oak Ridge, TN for a long time. Yesterday (6/10/24), I had to take our 13 year old cat (DiNozzo) in for an exam. He had multiple, for him, unusual symptoms. Long story short, after an overnight stay and tests, it was determined that he had liver cancer. His cancer was advanced enough that euthanasia was planned, but unnecessary as died without assistance. I have nothing, but the greatest respect for Dr. Rick Hinson and all of the staff there. They were all kind, compassionate, attentive and every other accolade you could use to describe them. Their service made this loss of a great companion much easier to bear.
