Had my first vet appointment here after being with the same vet for decades. I only left because Dallas was too far of a drive and my husband uses this vet for his dog. They are amazing. They are thorough, friendly, and put the animal first. They explain everything and lay it out for you. They are more spendy but I'd rather pay more for good service.

  • Comprehensive Dental Care: Recognizing the importance of oral health, they provide professional dental cleanings, extractions, and other dental procedures to prevent and treat periodontal disease, which can impact overall health.

  • Surgical Services: A range of surgical procedures, from routine spays and neuters to more complex soft tissue surgeries, are performed with a strong emphasis on patient safety, pain management, and post-operative care.

  • Internal Medicine: Diagnosis and management of various internal diseases affecting organs and systems, such as diabetes (as highlighted in a review), kidney disease, heart conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, and endocrine imbalances.

Dr. Millner's help in understanding the difficult decision of euthanasia, combined with the incredibly thoughtful gestures like a rose on the doorstep and a note three months after Gizmo's passing, exemplify a rare depth of compassion. This emotional support is invaluable, especially for clients who view their pets as their "best friend" or "only friend."

  • Specialization in Feline Care: The "Salem Cat Clinic" designation signifies a commitment to providing an environment and expertise specifically tailored to the unique needs and sensitivities of cats, which can be a significant advantage for cat owners seeking stress-free veterinary visits.

  • Quality Over Cost: While acknowledged as "more spendy," clients affirm that the superior service and quality of care are well worth the investment. This indicates a focus on delivering premium veterinary services rather than competing solely on price.

The testimonials paint a picture of a clinic that goes far beyond medical treatment, offering genuine emotional support and building lasting relationships with clients through their pets' entire life journey, including difficult transitions.

I moved to Salem in May with my best friend Gizmo. I didn't know what was wrong with him when I moved here but I knew something was wrong. I came to find out that he had diabetes. I worked with the staff and Dr. Millner to try and get his blood sugar levels to where they needed to be. Unfortunately Gizmo's body just wouldn't regulate. After 6 months of trying I had to say goodbye to my best friend for 12 years. It was the hardest decision I've ever made and it didn't come lightly. Dr. Millner helped me understand the decision in front of me. Gizmo was not only my best friend, but my only friend in Salem as I'm not from Oregon. Coming home after work to a rose on my doorstep was very thoughtful. Receiving a note 3 months later after his passing was also very thoughtful as I'm still thinking about him daily. Thank you to the entire staff at Oak Hills Veterinary.

We can fully rely on Dr. "Purright" and Team for all our kitties needs. From prompt communication about an inquiry or referral, to basic care and surgeries, they've been there for us for more than 6 years. We just simply couldn't be happier with anyone else :)

I had a really sweet stray cat show up at my house that was very sick we wanted to take in. I called a bunch of places but landed at Oak Hills. The entire staff were very friendly, compassionate and professional. The doctor discussed all my options and helped me make an informed decision on how to proceed with the cat. Thank you so much for your excellent care!

We couldn’t think of one thing. From Remi’s, our Springer, greeting at reception until we walked out the door. Shelby, out tech, was met with excitement and willingly followed her for exam. When Dr, Burraright came into the room Remi dashed to her. At the end while awaiting the final report, Victor an assistant we had had at several times took the time to stop in to say hello and tell us how well Remi behaved. How could anyone ask for more. BTW. Any health issues Remi has ever had has been cared for quickly, effectively and with care. Remi is our third dog to be cared for at Oak Hills Veterinary Clinic. The high care and compassion established by Dr Hilmer and Dr Smith continues with Dr Burraright. They chose wisely in who to pass the baton too.
