Norwood Animal Hospital, leveraging its partnership with Thrive Pet Healthcare, offers a comprehensive and integrated approach to veterinary medicine. Their services cater to various stages of a pet's life and health needs, ensuring well-rounded care:
Wellness Exams: Cornerstone of preventive care, these routine check-ups are essential for monitoring a pet's overall health, detecting early signs of illness, and providing guidance on maintaining optimal well-being throughout their lives.
Sick/Illness Exams: Experienced veterinarians are equipped to diagnose and treat a wide array of common pet ailments, including but not limited to vomiting, itching, unexplained lumps, and limping, ensuring prompt and effective medical intervention when a pet is unwell.
Vaccinations: A vital component of preventive medicine, a tailored vaccination schedule protects pets from contagious and potentially life-threatening diseases, contributing significantly to their longevity and quality of life.
Heartworm & Flea/Tick Prevention: These essential preventative measures shield pets from common parasites that can lead to severe health complications, such as heartworm disease, skin irritations, and transmission of other parasites like tapeworms.
Preventive Pet Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services, ranging from routine cleanings to more complex procedures like tooth extractions, are offered to maintain excellent oral hygiene and prevent dental diseases that can adversely impact a pet's systemic health.
Spay & Neuter: These standard surgical procedures are highly recommended for non-breeding pets, playing a crucial role in managing pet overpopulation and providing numerous health and behavioral benefits for the individual animal.
Diagnostic Testing: To accurately pinpoint the underlying cause of health issues, the hospital utilizes a variety of advanced diagnostic tools. This includes comprehensive laboratory testing (blood, urine, fecal analysis) and state-of-the-art imaging techniques such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and ultrasound.
End-Of-Life Care: Recognizing the profound emotional challenges associated with a pet's final journey, the hospital provides compassionate end-of-life care, offering both medical support and heartfelt emotional guidance to pet owners during this sensitive period.
Integrative Medicine: Embracing a holistic philosophy, this approach combines conventional veterinary treatments with complementary and alternative therapies, aiming to provide a more comprehensive and personalized care plan for each pet.
Nutrition & Weight Management: The veterinary team offers expert consultations to help pet owners understand optimal pet nutrition and develop tailored weight management strategies, addressing dietary needs and combating obesity-related health issues.
Dermatology: Specialized care is provided for conditions affecting a pet's skin, ears, hair, and claws. Given that skin-related issues are among the most frequent reasons for veterinary visits, the clinic offers comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for allergies, infections, and other dermatological problems, which can often signal deeper underlying conditions.
Surgery: The hospital is equipped to perform a wide range of surgical procedures, from routine spay and neuter operations to more intricate orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries, ensuring pets receive necessary surgical interventions with expert care.
Mass Removal: Addressing abnormal growths, both benign and potentially malignant, mass removals aim to excise unwanted tissue. Samples are often sent for pathological analysis to determine the nature of the growth and guide any further necessary treatments.
Norwood Animal Hospital’s affiliation with Thrive Pet Healthcare provides distinct advantages. This partnership enables the hospital to operate with the local, personal touch of a community clinic while benefiting from the extensive resources, cutting-edge technology, and standardized high-quality care protocols of a nationwide network. This membership model has been instrumental in establishing Norwood Animal Hospital as a preferred choice for routine care like nail trims and regular checkups.
Thrive Pet Healthcare's overarching philosophy revolves around "360° pet healthcare," which integrates primary, specialty, and emergency veterinary services. - Discounts on Services: Members often receive discounts on various veterinary services, procedures, medications, and diagnostics, making comprehensive care more affordable.
The positive customer review explicitly states that the Thrive membership has made Norwood Animal Hospital their "go-to place," underscoring the perceived value and utility of this program. Beyond the membership, Norwood Animal Hospital aims to alleviate financial burdens associated with pet care by working with popular treatment financing solutions such as CareCredit and Scratchpay. These options allow pet owners to manage unexpected or substantial veterinary costs by spreading payments over time. Furthermore, the hospital accepts pet insurance for accidents and illnesses, and actively supports clients in navigating their insurance claims. Some pet insurance providers also offer "wellness plans" or routine care add-ons, which can help cover the costs of regular check-ups and preventive treatments. The convenience is further extended through their online storefront, powered by Vetsource, which allows clients to easily order and receive pet medications, specialized diets, and other essential products directly to their homes. This multi-faceted approach to promotional efforts and financial accessibility ensures that high-quality veterinary care at Norwood Animal Hospital is within reach for a wider range of pet owners, reinforcing their commitment to the health and happiness of the community's animal companions.

Feb 19, 2025 · Estefania CaloLove this clinic! They take good care of my dog. I'm also a fan of the Thrive membership, which has made this my go-to place for nail trims and checkups.
May 17, 2025 · Nick BennettI recently took my pet for a full work up total cost $619.00 which included a urine and stool Sample. Didn’t realize I only had 30 Days to bring it in or else will be charged again $216. While the staff was generally friendly, I was disappointed with a couple of aspects of the visit. First, I was charged a fee prior to sample collection, which I was not clearly informed about beforehand. It felt frustrating to have an unexpected charge added to the bill, especially when I wasn’t made aware of it upfront. Second, I was also given only 30 days to send the collection during the holiday period. I understand that holidays may lead to busier schedules, but I felt the short time frame did not allow for thorough discussion or the care my pet needed. I hope the clinic can improve communication regarding prior and extra charges and offer more time to send sample collection in the future. While I appreciate their care for my pet, these issues made the experience less than satisfactory and will Not be returning back. Which is very disappointmenting I’ve been with them for over 3 years.
Jan 06, 2025 · sandy lopesI unfortunately had to put my 14 year old cat to sleep a few weeks ago,a very hard thing to do,the veterinarian and staff were very compassionate,I would recommend Norwood animal hospital to anyone in need of vet care
May 19, 2025 · JohnI've been taking my pets here for over a decade. The technicians and doctors are always very kind to them. They scrolled appointments quite soon when I call them and email me the results and receipts within a couple of days of my visits. Have emailed PDF receipts and doctors notes makes it very easy for me to submit classrooms to my pet insurance. One of my cats is very nervous when we have to go to the vet, but one of the technicians (Eric) there is so kind to him, he calms down during the visit, and we are talking about a literal scardy cat here :p. They also still practice good covid security measures with making still required and plastic barriers all along the cash registers so it is safe when dealing with the reception. The also offer curb side assistance upon request. And this is on 06/15/22 when most places act like covid is over and have dropped all safety measures. I'm glad this place is only 5 minutes from where I live.
