Extremely satisfied with my whole experience with this clinic and all the staff that work there. I'm terribly allergic to cats but they do such a good job of cleaning that my allergies have never been a problem there. The Vet is very easy to get in to see. I have been able to squeeze in between appointments on any given day with a last minute notice (dog urgency). I've been a customer with my two dogs there for over five years now and my dogs are always happy when we pull into the parking lot to see 'Dr. Pam'.

Welcome to Northwest Veterinary Hospital

Welcome to Northwest Veterinary Hospital, a trusted Pet Hospital located at 7507 Dennis Dr, Urbandale, IA 50322, USA. Serving the local community, we are dedicated to providing accessible and high-quality veterinary care for your cherished animal companions. At Northwest Veterinary Hospital, we understand the importance of a healthy and happy pet, and our experienced team is committed to offering a wide range of services in a clean and welcoming environment.

As a reliable Pet Hospital, Northwest Veterinary Hospital strives to make veterinary care as stress-free and convenient as possible for pet owners. One of the notable features, as highlighted by our satisfied clients, is our commitment to cleanliness. For pet owners with allergies, such as those sensitive to cats, maintaining a clean environment is paramount. We take pride in our thorough cleaning protocols, which have been so effective that even individuals with severe cat allergies have reported no issues while visiting our clinic. This dedication to a hygienic space ensures a comfortable experience for all our clients and their pets.

Accessibility is another key aspect of Northwest Veterinary Hospital. We understand that pet health concerns can arise unexpectedly, and timely access to veterinary care is crucial. Our clients appreciate our efforts to accommodate urgent cases, often being able to "squeeze in" appointments even with short notice. This responsiveness and willingness to address immediate needs demonstrate our commitment to the well-being of your pets and the peace of mind of their owners. The positive experience of being able to see 'Dr. Pam' promptly during urgent situations has fostered long-term relationships with our clients, some of whom have been with us for over five years.

The expertise and friendly demeanor of our veterinarians, particularly 'Dr. Pam' as mentioned in a review, are also significant features of Northwest Veterinary Hospital. The fact that pets are "always happy" to arrive at our clinic speaks volumes about the positive and comfortable environment we strive to create. This positive association indicates a gentle and caring approach by our veterinary team, building trust and rapport with our animal patients.

Furthermore, Northwest Veterinary Hospital is equipped to offer essential diagnostic procedures that may not be available at all general veterinary practices. As highlighted by one client, when their regular vet did not offer ultrasound and X-ray services, they turned to us and found our staff to be incredibly helpful. This indicates that we provide advanced diagnostic capabilities, allowing for a more comprehensive assessment of your pet's health needs under one roof.

The helpfulness and integrity of our staff are consistently praised. One particularly noteworthy experience involved a pregnant dog. Upon arrival for a scheduled ultrasound, our veterinarian was experienced enough to visually assess the dog and confidently determine pregnancy. Instead of immediately proceeding with the potentially unnecessary ultrasound, the veterinarian offered a more economical approach: confirming the pregnancy visually for a reduced fee and then scheduling an X-ray for a later date to determine the number of puppies. This act of transparency and consideration for the client's financial situation led to the client deciding to move all their pet care to Northwest Veterinary Hospital. This demonstrates our commitment to not only providing excellent medical care but also to being mindful of our clients' needs and offering cost-effective solutions when appropriate.

While the reviews specifically mention cleanliness, accessibility, the positive interactions with 'Dr. Pam', helpful staff, ultrasound, and X-ray services, a comprehensive Pet Hospital like Northwest Veterinary Hospital typically offers a broader range of services, which may include:

  • General wellness exams and vaccinations to maintain your pet's overall health and prevent diseases.
  • Diagnosis and treatment of various illnesses and injuries.
  • Parasite prevention and control, including flea, tick, and heartworm management.
  • Dental care services to ensure your pet's oral health.
  • Surgical procedures, both routine and more complex.
  • In-house laboratory services for quick and accurate diagnostic testing.
  • Management of chronic conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, and allergies.
  • Nutritional counseling to help you choose the best diet for your pet's specific needs.
  • Microchipping for permanent pet identification.
  • Emergency and urgent care services, as suggested by the ability to "squeeze in" appointments for urgent matters.

The reviews highlight a clean and welcoming environment where pets feel comfortable. The ability to accommodate urgent appointments suggests an efficient and organized clinic. The helpfulness of the staff indicates a supportive and client-focused atmosphere where your concerns will be addressed with care and understanding.

I have a normal vet I go to but they didn't offer the procedures I needed ( Ultrasound & x-ray). So I went to NW Vet and the staff is so helpful. So I scheduled an appointment to get my female dog and ultrasound to see if she was pregnant. As soon as I walked in the door and my dog came around the corner. The vet looked at her and said yes, she is pregnant. If you would like to, you can pay me the $100 and I can confirm this with an ultrasound. Or you can trust me and come back in 1 weeks will do an X-ray and I could firm how many puppies she has. Which would save me a 100 bucks over all. A Couple weeks before Christmas. I could definitely use an extra 100 bucks in my pocket. They were so nice and helpful that I am moving my dog to this veterinary clinic!

Our family loves taking our two golden retrievers to Dr. Pam at Northwest Vet. Our oldest golden sometimes gets a little nervous being there, but as soon as she sees Dr. Pam she will start wagging her tail! The staff is kind and straightforward about everything. I appreciate that they love and always want what is best for our dogs!
