I was looking for a clinic to castrate a 7-month-old cat and my neighbor recommended this place to me. You can only sign up for the procedure through the website at night, places are taken quickly. I received detailed instructions in the mail all the time, so there were no problems with the procedure and the cat's recovery after the surgery. When the cat was discharged, they injected the painkiller and he slept for a while, which gave more time for recovery and healing of the wound. The green mark on my stomach also healed very quickly. The clinic staff is busy, although they remain kind to animals and friendly to people. I liked it and would bring my cat here if necessary. After 3 months the cat is healthy, happy and there is no smell in the apartment, so we are also satisfied.

Northwest Spay & Neuter Center Introduce
Introducing Northwest Spay & Neuter Center, a specialized 'Pet Hospital' located at 6401 Pacific Ave, Tacoma, WA 98408, USA. As the name suggests, this clinic primarily focuses on providing spay and neuter services for cats and dogs at an affordable cost. Based on the online reviews, the center is appreciated for its efficient processes, caring staff, and positive outcomes for the animals. This introduction aims to detail the environment, services, features, and the value proposition of Northwest Spay & Neuter Center for local users seeking these specific veterinary procedures.
The customer reviews highlight several key aspects of the Northwest Spay & Neuter Center experience. One reviewer who brought their 7-month-old cat for castration praised the detailed instructions provided throughout the process, from online sign-up to post-operative care. They noted the convenience of the online scheduling system, which operates at night and fills up quickly, indicating popularity and demand. The administration of a painkiller post-surgery, leading to a period of rest for the cat, was also appreciated for aiding recovery. The reviewer's satisfaction with the cat's quick healing and the elimination of unwanted smells further underscores the positive outcome of the procedure.
Another reviewer acknowledged that while the clinic staff is busy, they remain kind to the animals and friendly to people. This suggests an efficient operation where the focus is on providing a high volume of services while still maintaining a caring attitude. This customer indicated they would return if the need arose, a testament to their positive overall impression.
A third reviewer, who was initially worried about bringing their large Newfoundland dog for neutering due to the typically high costs elsewhere (over $1000 quoted), found Northwest Spay & Neuter to be an excellent and affordable option. They commended the clinic for calming their nerves, taking great care of their dog, and ensuring a seamless aftercare process. This strong recommendation speaks to the center's ability to handle even large breeds with competence and care, all while being significantly more cost-effective than other veterinary facilities for these procedures.
Environment:
The reviews suggest a busy yet organized environment where the primary focus is on the efficient and safe execution of spay and neuter surgeries. While not explicitly described visually, the emphasis on detailed instructions, smooth procedures, and caring staff points to a well-structured and professional setting. The fact that the online scheduling fills up quickly indicates a high volume of patients, which might contribute to the perception of a "busy" staff, but not at the expense of kindness towards animals and friendliness towards people.
Services:
The primary services offered at Northwest Spay & Neuter Center, as indicated by its name and the customer reviews, are:
- Cat Castration (Neutering): One reviewer specifically brought their male cat for this procedure and reported a positive experience with the process and recovery.
- Dog Neutering: Another reviewer had their large Newfoundland dog neutered at the center and was highly satisfied with the care and cost.
- Spaying (Ovariohysterectomy) for Cats and Dogs: While not explicitly detailed in these reviews, it is a standard service offered by spay and neuter clinics, and it is reasonable to assume that Northwest Spay & Neuter Center provides this for female animals as well, given their name.
It is likely that their services are primarily focused on these sterilization procedures to help control pet overpopulation and offer associated health benefits. They may also provide basic pre- and post-operative care, including pain management.
Features:
Several key features of Northwest Spay & Neuter Center are highlighted in the customer feedback:
- Affordability: The significantly lower cost for neutering a large dog compared to other clinics is a major advantage.
- Efficient Online Scheduling: The website-based sign-up process, though requiring timely action due to popularity, streamlines appointment booking.
- Detailed Instructions: Comprehensive pre- and post-operative instructions are provided, ensuring pet owners are well-informed.
- Post-Operative Pain Management: The administration of painkillers upon discharge aids the animal's comfort and recovery.
- Caring and Friendly Staff: Despite being busy, the staff is noted for their kindness towards animals and friendliness to people.
- Positive Outcomes: Customers report successful procedures and recoveries, along with the intended benefits of spay/neuter.
Promotional Information:
The provided reviews do not contain specific promotional offers or discounts for Northwest Spay & Neuter Center. However, their reputation for providing affordable spay and neuter services, especially when compared to the potentially much higher costs at full-service veterinary hospitals, is a significant draw. Local users looking for cost-effective sterilization for their pets are encouraged to visit their website (as mentioned in one review as the method for sign-up) or contact them directly at (253) 627-7729 or mobile phone at +1 253-627-7729. Their address is 6401 Pacific Ave, Tacoma, WA 98408, USA.
In conclusion, Northwest Spay & Neuter Center in Tacoma, WA, offers a valuable service to the community by providing affordable and efficient spay and neuter procedures for cats and dogs. The positive feedback from customers highlights their organized processes, caring staff, and successful outcomes. If you are a local pet owner seeking a cost-effective solution for sterilizing your pet, Northwest Spay & Neuter Center is a highly recommended option.

Feb 01, 2025 · NataI was really worried taking my big guy here. He is such a baby, I I love him! He is a Newfie, so anywhere else was well over $1000. NW Spay and Neuter did an excellent job. They calmed my nerves, took great care of my dog, and the after care was seamless. I would highly recommend
May 06, 2025 · Victoria LarsonHad to go online for a month at midnight to get a spot 3 weeks later for one of my pets. Pay a $45. Online deposit(so they can access your account for full price at the end). Then get turned away because my dog will bit when he gets defensive (which I told them this upfront). They gave us another appt. 3 weeks out and medication (which I told them will not help in the way they think it will). I'll let you know how that goes in 3 weeks. The staff however are pretty fantastic great personality and communication just be prepared to wait. It is a good but timely process. And do not come early or late parking is minimal
Mar 20, 2025 · Denice FelicitaHow do you set an appointment? I understand there is a long line but the website makes it seem as though there isn’t an actual line at all. The whole process halts when you attempt to schedule an appointment and the website then requests you “check back in at midnight”? How could this possibly be the best means for scheduling? Who’s awake at midnight to make pet appointments? That’s ridiculous
May 11, 2025 · Matt RWe just brought our big feral cat Garfield home today from having TNR (trap, neuter, release) done at Northwest Spay and Neuter clinic. These people are awesome, nice, caring and professional. Thank you so much and God bless your good work
