Update: I just want to continue to say how wonderful Northern Vet has been. All the staff are incredibly kind and patient-my senior sheep has needed a lot of care this year and I cannot say more about them. Dr. Megan especially has gone above and beyond to give me options for care when extensive care for a pet sheep is not common. Extremely happy with the care and service we received. My elderly sheep was sick and Dr. McMahon was able to travel out to see us on a Sunday morning. She was professional and caring. She explained the possibilities and treatment options for my old lady with compassion. I thought the cost of service was very reasonable for a house call. I'm a small animal veterinary technician and very familiar with veterinary costs. We would absolutely recommend Northern Vet to anyone with farm animals.

While the provided information doesn't detail the physical environment of the clinic itself, the glowing reviews offer significant insights into the service and approach of Northern Veterinary Services. Based on customer feedback, a key aspect of their service is their willingness to provide farm calls. This suggests a mobile and responsive approach, bringing veterinary expertise directly to your farm, which is a significant convenience and benefit for those managing livestock. While a traditional clinic setting might also be part of their infrastructure for certain procedures, their ability to travel to the patient highlights a commitment to accessibility and the practicalities of farm animal care.
The services offered by Northern Veterinary Services, as indicated by the reviews, primarily focus on the veterinary care of farm animals. This encompasses a range of needs crucial for maintaining herd health and individual animal well-being. Based on the testimonials, we can infer the following types of services are likely offered:
- On-Farm Veterinary Care (House Calls): As explicitly mentioned, Dr. McMahon traveled to a client's farm on a Sunday morning to care for an elderly sheep. This highlights the availability of on-site examinations, diagnoses, and treatments, which is invaluable for large animals where transportation to a clinic can be challenging or stressful.
- General Health and Wellness: This would include routine check-ups, vaccinations relevant to farm animals in the region, parasite control programs tailored for livestock, and nutritional advice to optimize herd health and productivity.
- Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses and Injuries: The reviews mention care for a sick elderly sheep, indicating their capability to diagnose and treat various health issues in farm animals. This would involve physical examinations, potential on-site diagnostics, and appropriate medical or surgical interventions when necessary.
- Preventative Medicine Programs: The comment about knowing "exactly what I need for optimal herd health" suggests that Northern Veterinary Services provides guidance and protocols for preventative care to maintain the overall health of a farm's animal population.
- Expert Advice and Consultation: The testimonials praise the veterinarians' knowledge and their willingness to explain procedures and processes clearly to both adults and children. This educational aspect is a valuable service, empowering farmers to better understand and manage their animals' health.
The features of Northern Veterinary Services, as illuminated by customer experiences, are particularly noteworthy:
- Mobile Veterinary Care: The willingness to make farm calls, even on a Sunday, demonstrates a commitment to being readily available and accommodating the needs of farm owners. This is a significant feature for those who may have difficulty transporting large animals.
- Knowledgeable Veterinarians: Multiple reviews commend the veterinarians for their expertise and ability to provide clear explanations regarding animal health and treatment options. This ensures that farmers are well-informed and can make the best decisions for their animals.
- Compassionate and Caring Approach: Dr. McMahon is described as "professional and caring," and Dr. Megan is recognized for going "above and beyond." This highlights a patient-centered approach where the well-being of the animal and the understanding of the owner are prioritized.
- Focus on Farm Animals: Unlike general pet hospitals that cater to companion animals, Northern Veterinary Services appears to specialize in or have significant expertise in the care of livestock, making them a valuable resource for farmers.
- Reasonable Costs: One reviewer, a small animal veterinary technician familiar with veterinary costs, found the cost of the house call to be "very reasonable," suggesting fair pricing for their services.
Regarding promotional information, the most compelling promotion for Northern Veterinary Services comes directly from the positive experiences shared by their clients. The repeated emphasis on kindness, patience, knowledge, and the willingness to travel to the farm serves as a powerful endorsement of their services. The update about Dr. Megan's dedication to finding care options for a pet sheep, even when it's uncommon, further illustrates their commitment and resourcefulness. The fact that a veterinary technician highly recommends them speaks volumes about the professional standards they uphold.
While there isn't a specific promotional offer mentioned, the consistent praise for their service, particularly the farm call availability and the expertise of the veterinarians, acts as a strong recommendation for any local farmer seeking reliable veterinary care for their livestock.

Dec 03, 2024 · S BeamThe absolute best farm vets a farmer could ask for. Every veterinarian is so knowledgeable, and despite being so busy, they always take the time to explain procedures and processes to my kids (and me). When they leave, I know exactly what I need for optimal herd health. Thank you all!

Jul 29, 2022 · Jennifer KozlowskiCall to get a few general questions answer the lady that answer the phone was beyond rude would not answer my questions she started to have a vet come to my farm would be "extremely expensive" after doing the miles myself with the little bit of info I was able to get it turns out it would have only been 183 dollars so maybe that's why she was so rude the money was not with there time .this was my first time reaching out to a vet as there are none in our area and now I see why everyone says stay away from vets . She was no willing to explain how to become a new member . Hopefully her employer see this and reminds her to do her job
