Jun 04, 2021 · patrick dyerMy experience was excellent. Dr. Mangiamelli took excellent care of my 4 mos old puppy when she got hurt. My pup had jumped out of my arms and landed wrong and broke her hind leg. He fixed her up and after 1 mos her leg was healed. He also noticed that something else was wrong with her. Her weight was off for her breed. He ran a few test and he discovered that she was basically starving her self. He gave us some meds for her to take with her food and after 5 weeks her weight is increasing. The Dr. saved my dogs life. As to the post below the Dr. can be crass and tell you what he thinks but he is good at his job which is taking care of animals if you want someone who knows what they are doing then he is the doctor to go to.
Nov 02, 2012 · Ria AverriosIt seems that my review from two years ago had disappeared. I had an 8 month old Pomeranian that I had taken to this vet hospital since I first brought him home. June 1st, he suddenly fell ill. He had symptoms as if he had a stroke because one side of his body was paralyzed, including his mouth so he couldn’t drink water. I came home from work to find him in this condition, as well as him having thrown up, and lost control of his bowels. He looked scared. My mom told me to call this vet office, because they would meet off hours for a fee. I regret not taking him all the way to Mount Vernon’s emergency vet now. When we met with the head vet, he showed up in his pajamas. Every other word was a curse word. He thought my puppy seemed to behaving normally, even though he was extremely stiff, couldn’t keep himself up, and had his face malformed from paralyzation. The vet stuck a thermometer in him for an uncomfortable couple of minutes. Didn’t lube it up or anything. He didn’t document anything, either. And no blood was drawn. He told us that my puppy either ate something he shouldn’t had or got bit by something and is having a reaction. He said that my puppy could stay at their office in the back, but what good would that do? It was after hours so the vet was going to leave, so no one would keep an eye on him when he was deathly sick! He told us to take away his food and water for the night, and to eventually start giving him water and rice. And if we had any problems, to call when the office opened the next day. The vet also told me that he would be alright. My puppy didn’t make it through the night. A day later, my family and I came in to confront the vet. The vet was in total denial about everything and told me that I was going to get another dog and that he’ll discount the vet price for that dog. As if that would better everything that happened. I was devastated losing my puppy that night. The last thing I was thinking of was getting another puppy. I just wanted answers. I needed closure. And he didn’t help with any of that. I never recommend him to people, and for the people that do go to him that I know of, I share my experience with him. Him being the cheapest vet in town reflects on his unprofessionalism with my case.
