Absolutely the best! I had to get kitty neutered, everywhere else wanted exorbitant prices, and were booked out for a month. Got an appointment a week out, for 1/3rd the price. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Frequent contacts to make sure we were on the same page. This is how I remember vets being when I was young. I cannot give a higher review! Kitty is just fine and happy, They took very good care of him

Based on the available online reviews, experiences with North Kitsap Veterinary Clinic appear to be varied. One customer had a highly positive experience when getting their cat neutered. They praised the clinic for its significantly lower prices compared to other places, the ease of getting a relatively quick appointment, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They also appreciated the frequent communication to ensure everyone was on the same page and felt that the service was reminiscent of vets from their younger years, leading them to give the clinic their highest recommendation. They confirmed that their kitty was "just fine and happy" and that the clinic took very good care of him.
However, another customer shared a deeply concerning negative experience. They brought their 8-year-old cat in due to concerns about his fur and behavior. Despite the owner's intuition and request for a blood test, the veterinarian reportedly stated they had never heard of "sick kitty fur" and deemed the cat healthy without a blood test, reassuring the owner that they were just a "worried mommy." The owner initially felt good about the visit, even with their extensive experience with cats.
Subsequently, the cat's condition worsened significantly, leading to a lack of appetite and weight loss. Upon returning to the clinic, the same veterinarian reportedly stated they didn't know what was wrong and, instead of performing a blood test as requested, suggested the owner take the cat elsewhere for comprehensive testing. When the owner called the next day to plead for a blood test while awaiting an appointment elsewhere, the receptionist informed them that the vet had "REFUSED" to do so.
The owner then took their cat to another veterinary clinic where blood tests, X-rays, and an ultrasound revealed tapeworms (considered easily treatable). However, due to the preceding weight loss, lack of nutrition, and exhaustion, the cat developed chronic pancreatitis and was reportedly in a life-threatening condition. The reviewing owner expressed extreme distress and disappointment over the initial misdiagnosis and refusal to perform a blood test at North Kitsap Veterinary Clinic, emphasizing the critical state their cat was in as a result.
Given these contrasting reviews, it is challenging to provide a definitive picture of the environment, services, and features of North Kitsap Veterinary Clinic. Typically, a Pet Hospital provides examination rooms, and depending on the scope of services, may have areas for diagnostics, surgery, and recovery. The environment aims to be clean and functional for animal care.
The services generally offered by a Pet Hospital include preventative care (vaccinations, parasite control), diagnostics (laboratory tests, imaging), medical treatments, and potentially surgical and dental procedures. The positive review suggests that North Kitsap Veterinary Clinic offers routine procedures like neutering at competitive prices with friendly service. However, the negative review raises serious concerns about diagnostic thoroughness and the willingness to pursue necessary tests when a pet owner expresses significant concerns.
Features of North Kitsap Veterinary Clinic, based on the positive feedback, could include affordability for certain procedures and a friendly, helpful staff. However, the negative review points to a potential issue with diagnostic protocols and communication, particularly when a pet owner's concerns differ from the veterinarian's initial assessment. The refusal to perform a blood test, as reported, is a significant point of concern.
There is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers at this time. To inquire about potential promotions or the full range of services, it would be best to contact the clinic directly.
For local users in Poulsbo, WA, North Kitsap Veterinary Clinic presents a mixed picture based on the limited online feedback. While one customer found them to be affordable with friendly staff for a routine procedure, another experienced a severe issue with diagnosis and a refusal to perform a requested diagnostic test, leading to a critical situation for their pet. Potential clients may want to consider these contrasting experiences when making decisions about their pet's care and perhaps seek further information or clarification from the clinic directly.
To gain a more comprehensive understanding of North Kitsap Veterinary Clinic's current practices, services, and approach to diagnosis, we recommend contacting them directly using the provided phone numbers. This will allow you to ask specific questions and make an informed decision based on your pet's individual needs.
In summary, North Kitsap Veterinary Clinic in Poulsbo, WA, has received both high praise for affordability and friendly service, and a serious negative review concerning diagnostic handling and communication. Local pet owners should consider these differing experiences and may wish to contact the clinic directly for more information.

Feb 21, 2025 · Seth StebenOn January 16 I took my 8 yr. old cat in to see this vet because I felt that he was developing “sick kitty fur” and wasn’t acting himself. This vet expressed that she had never heard of sick kitty fur when and I asked for a blood test she said that he didn’t need one that he was healthy. I really liked the vet and her assistant and was told that I was just a worried mommy. I left feeling very good and even tho I had numerous ( probably more 12 cats throughout my life) I felt that I had made a mistake. He was given his booster shots and I was to return in 3-4 weeks for a steroid shot etc. In early Feb., my cat quit eating and lost 4 lbs. and I panicked! I returned to the vet and she said that she didn’t know what was wrong with him, I wanted a blood test but she wanted me to take him elsewhere and have them to do all the tests themselves. I called the next day and begged for the blood test since I couldn’t get an appointment until the following week, the receptionist told me that the vet “REFUSED” to do a blood test on my cat and I was appalled that the vet flatly REFUSED! On Feb. 12 I got my cat in to see Dr. Watson at Balanced pet and they did a blood r test, x-rays and an ultra sound. It was found that he had 3 tapeworms which are easily curable, but now with the extreme weight loss, lack of nutrition and exhaustion it has developed into chronic pancreatitis and he is in a fight for his life! Everyone is praying for his survival because he’s in extreme pain and not eating. The doctor said there is nothing to be done and that he will either survive or die.

Mar 05, 2025 · Lenee KarelsenPLEASE READ. I found two little dogs running down the middle of the road on my way to the middle school. I stopped and picked them up. Unfortunately they had no home address or phone number tags. North Kitsap Veterinary clinic was the first vet I stopped at. I went inside to ask if she could help me. No, she said she couldn't. She did not offer to scan their microchips, they even had "home again" tags!! Nothing. Her solution? DROP THEM BACK OFF WHERE YOU FOUND THEM. Are you kidding me? It is a super busy road and they are likely to get hit! This lady obviously does not care about the safety of the dogs!!! I told her I absolutely would not do that and walked out and slammed the door. (The vet by Town and Country helped me get them reunited with their frantic owner)

Oct 28, 2024 · Lucky LooHad an appointment today (October 1st) at 3pm. My kitten was scheduled for a shot and also was having some issues I was hoping to discuss. I showed up on time and they are closed down. I only find out they decided to close the 1st and 2nd by calling and listening to a passive aggressive voicemail. No call, no text to reschedule. Nothing. So the only thing I accomplished was stressing out my cat. Thanks! Will likely not be returning here.

Oct 01, 2024 · oliviaIf I could give a Negative 10 star review, I would. My experience at North Kitsap Veterinary Clinic was beyond appalling. I brought my kitten/cat in for a spaying procedure and they told me she would need to stay the night. I was shocked to learn that no staff would be present overnight and that they just close up and go home. I have had bad experiences in the past with cats having bad reactions after coming off of anesthetic and I felt uncomfortable that there would be no one there if anything happened. I have veterinary experience, have owned and worked with animals all my life so I asked the receptionist if I could just pick her up before they close that evening so I could watch her throughout the night. She was extremely snotty and rude and told me I should ask the vet. The next morning at 9am I went to drop her off. I spoke to both the receptionist and the vet. I told them my concerns. I explained to them that I have a farm, boarding facilities, a cosy safe crate at home ready for her and have the ability to keep her safe, calm and watched throughout the night. She gave me a thumbs up, said it sounded great and informed me that the only reason they like to keep them overnight is if people cannot offer them that care in the following 24 hours. I thanked them. The receptionist took all of her vaccine information and I left my cat in their care. I got told to ring them at 4pm that evening and to come and pick her up after that. 3:45 comes around and I call the clinic asking how it went and asking If I could come and pick my kitten up. She responded. "No, you can come and get her in the morning.” Despite being assured that morning I could take her home. Which led me to question why.. I was told that I was never informed that I could take my cat home, that I am lying, that she doesn't have time to keep talking to me and my issues, and worst of all and I quote "Well we have your cat here, you cannot come and get her until the morning so it looks like there is nothing you can do about it" and HUNG UP ON ME! Mortified, I get in my car and drive to the clinic to see what the hell is going on. All of the staff continue to display utter disrespect and hostility towards me. All refusing to talk to me. An old lady who I had never spoken to before took me into a room and told me that everything I was saying was false, that this was her clinic and she could do what the hell she wanted and informed me that they were keeping my cat unless I paid them in cash?? Extremely shady and unethical behavior. She would not let me speak, proceeded to tell me she was done listening to me and walked away. I proceeded to tell them I just want to pay right now (using their card machine which I had used before) and pick up my cat. She wouldn't allow it. She said I would not be getting my cat back. At this point I am LIVID, worried about my cat and why this is happening and in complete disbelief. I decided my only option was to call the police. At this point my husband has shown up to help me. They tried kicking me out so they could close and go home. When the police showed up we explained to him everything that had happened and he told us he had taken one of their pets there once and had the worst experience and that they were horrible to him. When the police intervened, they begrudgingly released my cat, who was of course traumatized, not to mention starving, and worse of all covered in her own waste! I have NEVER experienced anything like this in my life and NEVER want it to happen to anyone else. DO NOT use this clinic. Stay away from this establishment at all costs; their cheap prices are not worth the anguish and mistreatment they subject on to their customers and patients. I'm just glad to have my cat back.
