First time using this emergency vet, and I was very happy with the service. My very elderly cat was exhibiting some alarming symptoms (which turned out to be just a 12 hour thing - she was fine the next day), and Dr. Armes put my concerns at ease. She spent plenty of time with me and my cat and discussed her condition and possible causes. Highly recommended.

Apr 16, 2025 · Lawrence Taylor-DuncanWe brought our dog in on Saturday night March 8th not knowing what was happening with him. The staff was great. Especially the Vet that was on that night. They monitored him, did imaging, and then when she had to break horrible news to us that he was suffering from bloat with gdv (torsion and twisting of the stomach) she did her best to get us connected with a surgeon who could provide our dog with the emergency surgery he needed to save his life. She was kind to us, she was comforting to us, and she even called us several days later to ask how our boy was doing. If it weren’t for her diligence we could have lost him. I hope we never have another veterinary emergency ever again, but if we do we will definitely be back here.
Mar 18, 2025 · levyI had to bring my dog in last week, Autumn at the front desk immediately greeted us upon entrance and got us into an exam room. Ms.Kim was our nurse and we saw Dr.Armes, both ladies were very nice and took the time to explain everything to me in detail as I was very worried about him. The prices were what you would expect for an Emergency vet clinic but these ladies did a great job considering my financial restrictions. They took good care of my baby and he was already feeling better when we left! Overall, the staff here is pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend to anyone having a pet emergency!
Apr 14, 2025 · Keandra montgomeryHands down, the BEST veterinary team I’ve ever encountered! From the moment I walked in, Norma at the front desk welcomed us with such kindness and empathy — not only comforting my sweet Goldendoodle, but calming me as well. Adam, the vet tech, was an absolute delight. This was our second emergency visit in two days (after seeing our regular vet who diagnosed pancreatitis), and Adam’s gentle demeanor made all the difference. He spoke softly and handled my 13-year-old dog with incredible care and compassion. Then Dr. CJ came in — and I was blown away. She literally sat down on the floor with my dog, speaking in a calm, soothing voice and moving slowly to help triage a very scared pup. Dr. CJ spent nearly half an hour with us ON THE FLOOR!, thoroughly explaining how a dog’s body processes protein, how pancreatitis develops, and what it meant for my dog’s care. Her knowledge and patience were simply extraordinary. When it came time for IV fluids and injections, Adam returned and made the process as gentle and stress-free as possible. Thanks to this amazing team, what could have been a traumatic experience turned into one of healing and relief. The entire office was spotless, the staff was incredibly professional and compassionate, and — to top it off — the cost was actually lower than what I paid at my regular vet. I am beyond grateful and will never go anywhere else for emergency care. If you’re looking for a place that will treat your furry family members with genuine love and outstanding care, look no further. Thank you to the entire team for giving my sweet dog such comfort and care!
Apr 27, 2025 · Sandy WardA few days ago I had an emergency with my pet, a beautiful cat, who had been showing symptoms that seemed to be constipation for some time. It was already nighttime and the vets were closed so we looked for a pet hospital and the closest one was North Alabama Veterinary Emergency & Specialty, so my husband and I decided not to wait any longer and take our pet Nala who already looked weak and was in pain. We arrived at the emergency hospital and they received us kindly and worried about the situation of our cat Nala, not even an hour had passed and they had already told us what Nala had and that she was between life and death due to a serious urinary obstruction. Because of everything Nala means to us, we decided to take care of our pet's life and the specialists began to work on the case, Nala had two surgeries and was under medication to improve and correct the obstruction and other damages caused. Anyway, we are grateful and very happy for the management and their great professionalism, it is something incredible to find a place and such wonderful people, at all times there was good communication, we felt very comfortable visiting Nala and happy to see her improvement. Thanks to Dr. Armes, Dr. Castro, Dr. Corneliux and all the others on the North Alabama Veterinary Emergency & Specialty work team, thank you! I especially want to thank Dr. Castro who helped us a lot since we are from Puerto Rico and although we understand English, speaking it is somewhat complicated for us and more so for situations like this, so we are grateful for your diligence, you are all professionals and thanks to you and God today my beautiful cat is at home with his brother Simba ❤️🐱🐱.
