Jan 01, 2025 · Kim KennedyFirst of all, the people here saved my dog's life and for that I am so thankful. My puppy suffered a traumatic injury from a freak accident with a stick she was playing with in the yard. I am beyond grateful for the work they did and their ability to remove the stick from her abdomen where it had impaled her. I can't say enough thank yous for that. I will say, the front desk staff could definitely use some help with their people skills. We called before we came, in panic due to the emergency situation, and let them know our puppy had been impaled with a stick, it had literally skewered her through her abdomen and out her back. When we arrived we rushed her inside only to be met with a very rude individual at the front desk demanding we put her down on the scale to weigh her. I explained (thinking maybe she wasn't aware that we were the people that called) that she had a stick through her abdomen and we literally could not risk putting her down and having her move, in fear that the stick would move and do more damage or hit any of her internal organs. This person continued with their rude attitude trying to tell me that they couldn't help us until we weighed her...thankfully someone else rushed up and took us to the back immediately. But that initial interaction left a bad taste in my mouth. The clinic was able to work with us financially and I appreciated their help with that, but I will say that the prices are absolutely insane, we were initially told a price double what we ended up paying (and our bill was not cheap) my primary vet warned me that they can double and triple charged and his advice in handling that was very helpful. I understand just like an emergency room visit for people is more expensive than a doctor visit, so is an emergency animal hospital. But when our "discounted" price is still multiple thousands of dollars, there's definitely a bit of up charging happening. All in all, our puppy is alive and I am so thankful for them for saving her, just wish some of the inner workings here were a bit more palatable
Jan 16, 2025 · Rachel R.I can't say enough good things about Newberry Animal Emergency Center. Our doberman cut his paw badly, and after being told by another emergency vet that it would be a 6-8 hour wait, we knew he couldn’t wait that long. We remembered this emergency vet being conveniently located right off of 83 and decided to give them a try. From the moment we walked in, the entire staff (front desk, vet techs and doctor) were incredible. They were pleasant, friendly, and helpful, doing everything they could to help us stay calm while they got our dog's bleeding under control. They worked quickly and efficiently, and our dog was able to leave with stitches in no time. After we got home, we needed to adjust his medication to better manage his pain. The staff were just as friendly and helpful over the phone. They guided us through the best options to make sure our dog was comfortable. When he decided to rip out his stitches halfway through recovery (because of course he did), they even let me email pictures so they could consult us on the best course of action without immediately bringing us back in for another bill. It’s never cheap to go to an emergency vet. However, the peace of mind and care we received at Newberry Animal Emergency Center was worth every penny. The staff truly made a stressful situation as painless as possible for both us and our dog. Highly recommend!
Aug 16, 2024 · Sarah BarrI can’t thank Newberry Animal Emergency Hospital enough for the kindness, compassion, and professionalism they showed us during one of the hardest times of our lives. We had to make the heart-wrenching decision to say goodbye to our 16 year old beloved dog, Lukas, and the team made the entire process as peaceful as possible. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly understanding and gave us the space we needed while also offering gentle support. They treated Lukas with such care, and their empathy truly helped us through this difficult moment. I’ll always be grateful for how they honored him and helped us through this tough decision with grace and dignity. Thank you again for everything.
Jan 28, 2025 · Leanette WilliamsOur dog, Cain was attacked by another dog on a Saturday evening and we brought him into the animal hospital sunday morning. They were able to get us checked in quickly and into a room to wait. We didn't have to wait long to be visited by a vet tech and then a doctor. They only had one doctor working so he had to wait a bit to get taken care of but that was ok. They were able to stitch him up and check the rest of him for any bite marks we may have missed. They even trimmed his nails while he was sedated. The had his care plan written very well in a way that would make it very hard to mess up. His medication was also packaged neatly. We picked up our boy and I was very pleasantly surprised by the price. I was expecting to pay a lot more that what they charged for their emergency services. They took good care of my boy and got him all fixed up for me. I would definitely recommend their services to others.
