I drove out from Conroe so my pup could have bilateral MPL surgery. The rates were the most affordable out of all quotes I received and he was recommended to me by a vet tech at an Urgent Vet in my city. I’m so glad I chose them for the surgery. They were willing to work on both legs at the same time saving me money and more time off work. He was very informative and patient with all of my questions. The ladies at the front desk were kind and comforting as I left my fur baby there overnight. I adopted her five months ago and leaving her overnight in another city was scary for me. The next day during pick up the vet tech sat with me to go over medication, discharge instructions and physical therapy information. She was really nice as well. Even when my baby got home they called to check on her recovery. Since I’m in another city they have allowed her staples to be removed locally along with the follow up XRays. If any of my other animals need major surgery I will be going back without a doubt.

Being in animal rescue, we are willing to make a 2 hour trip, one way, for the level of care that Dr Hanson provides. He has saved many dogs for us! We are so grateful!

I wasn't sure I was going to post anything because I do love NVC and have been going there since they just had the location in Groves but since I received an email asking for my opinion on service I figured I'd go ahead and give it. I love Dr. Hansen but this time I feel like there was a mistake made and maybe it's a common one I do not know but this mistake put unneeded stress on me and my dog and put us almost 3,000 in debt on what should have ended up being maybe a $400 vet visit. No one apparently seemed to think they should adjust my bill seeing as all these charges stimmed from one thing me being told by the Vet that there was a mass on my dogs thyroid! I was told surgery was the best option and would also be the most cost affective because even if we did bloodwork ect first all that in the end would just add to cost because with there being a mass it would still end in surgery and need to be removed and my bill would be higher. So with that advice I agreed to the surgery even though I couldn't afford it. Then while on surgery table Vet said the mass moved/disappeared/felt different before surgery and Anna then needed a 1500 dollar catscan for him to do surgery which I said I really couldn't afford but they said she had to have for them to feel comfortable to do surgery that could save my dogs life. This catscan showed no mass anywhere in thyroid so surgery was no longer needed but I was still charged for the anesthesia, medicine and everything because they had her already on the table for surgery. We then in the end ended up doing $300 bloodwork for full thyroid panel to be sent off which is what I would/should have walked out that first day paying for and not almost 3000 in vet bills had the Vet not told me they felt a mass in her thyroid. I get mistakes happen but this mistakes put me 3000 in debt which I really couldn't afford and honestly a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety. While I am thrilled my dog doesn't have thyroid cancer this whole situation is extremely aggravating and unnecessary. I'm not really one for saying anything but this was an expense we couldn't afford right now and it was all for nothing because there never was a mass! EDIT: After speaking with a lady in the office I want to add out of respect for Dr. Hansen that I in no way shape or form feel that Dr. Hansen did anything with ill intent or purposefully to cause any type of harm to me or my dog and I do still trust him with the care of my dogs! And like I told him I very much appreciate the fact that he did stop the surgery and called me when he couldn't feel the mass or it felt different and he didn't feel it was best or safe to proceed with surgery after that! I appreciate he put my dogs safety first. My feelings on the rest are still the same!!

My dog Jacob had an ulcerated, bleeding tumor and very low PCV and RBC and at 17 his kidneys and liver aren't perfect. I was so worried this was going to be what ended him. While they didn't do all the tumor (the vet called me during surgery as he had a drop in BP/HR) they got the infected one and the blood transfusion. I'm so grateful for the time they are giving me with my dog and the way they treated him not like a very old dog but a very loved dog who now has a little more time with his family ❤️ thank you so much for helping my boy. I knew the risks and he still came home to me. Thank you, thank you to the vets and techs, receptionists. Edited to add we drove from Willis TX multiple times and the drive was 100% worth it!

We love this clinic so much that we drive from Mont Belvieu to have our fur babies treated! Dr. Dr. Hansen did laser therapy on one of them years ago and have not had one episode since. Both Dr. Foskey & Dr. Freeman are very thorough & spectacular! They are the best price vet for us & will never go anywhere else!
