Distinguishing Features and Customer Experience

Montville Animal Hospital highlights its team's commitment to educating clients on pet health, good nutrition, and exercise. They emphasize staying current with the latest advances in veterinary technology while always treating animals with "loving care." The practice's mission statement underlines a dedication to providing superior and, when necessary, intensive care, alongside a commitment to continuing education for their veterinarians and staff.

One positive review noted that "The doctors and staff really care about your beloved animals. They answer any questions and are very helpful." This reflects the hospital's stated mission of treating clients and their pets with care and empathy. The availability of specialized care for exotic pets is a significant distinguishing feature, catering to a broader range of pet owners.

However, recent customer feedback presents a more complex picture. One updated review indicates a concerning instance where the hospital allegedly noted a review and then failed to follow up on a necessary vaccination, despite prior payment. This raises questions about customer service and commitment to continuity of care. Another critical review from a new client expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of a waiting room, unreadiness at appointment time, and significantly higher charges for routine services (double the maximum range for shots) compared to other clinics, including attempts to charge extra for basic first exam components like blood and fecal tests. This particular review also suggests a lack of transparency regarding pricing and recommends shopping around or considering lower-cost clinics.

Promotional Information and Value Proposition

Montville Animal Hospital promotes itself as "Your Family Veterinarian," emphasizing a personal and caring approach. They highlight their wide variety of services, encompassing preventative care, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry for a diverse range of animals. For new clients, they offer a "New Clients Receive $20 off 1st Visit" promotion, which is a common incentive to attract new business.

The hospital also understands the financial considerations of pet care and offers payment options through the CareCredit program, allowing clients to break down payments into monthly installments, often with interest-free periods. They also accept pet insurance and discuss wellness plans to help manage routine health expenses.

The value proposition for Montville Animal Hospital lies in its comprehensive range of services, including exotic pet care, and its stated commitment to compassionate and knowledgeable care. While some customer experiences have raised concerns about pricing transparency and administrative follow-up, the hospital's stated dedication to pet well-being and willingness to explore payment solutions indicate an effort to serve the community effectively. Prospective clients should consider their extensive service offerings, especially for exotic pets, and may wish to inquire about specific pricing details upfront to ensure alignment with their expectations.

Update: They saw this review, and noted not to call me back or schedule my kitten for his follow up vaccination they told me was necessary for the one that I already paid for to be fully effective. Is the quality of care a priority to a business this petty and spiteful? My vet closed their office, so I had to go here. There was no waiting room, and they were not ready at the time of my appt. I was charged literally double the max range for shots, and they tried to charge extra for routine parts of a first exam, like blood and fecal, so ultimately I paid more for less. Don't go here. Shop around. You're truly better off with "Vetco" or something over this place. There are clinics that offer low cost services if you need them.

I would like to publicly go ahead and thank this entire staff for everything you have done for me and my family. A little over a month ago this young lady was misdiagnosed with dermatitis of the foot. They gave her some cream and some steroids and sent her away. My wife took a job at l&m hospital. Montville was our vet the last time we were in town. We travel for work. I'm a firm believer in faith and things happen for a reason. We were unsure why we were brought back to Connecticut. To be honest, we hate living here. The state is trash and so are most of the people. They make solid pizza and then they have this veterinarian team. I've taken my dogs to different vets all over the country. If I hit the lottery I would literally buy out this veterinarian and have them move on to my complex. I would pay them millions of dollars to take care of my dog and still run their practice. The professionalism the courtesy everything about this stuff is spot on how it's supposed to be. I was greeted today by the anesthesiologist and I cried in her arms for 5 minutes. Tears of joy. She didn't let go of me. I was introduced to the surgeon who was able to get rid of the six letter word off of my dog. I sat there and held her and cried for almost 10 minutes. She didn't say a word. When it was done she said that's the best part of her job. There is no one I trust more with my animals than this place. That's the end of the discussion. I would travel from California all the way to Connecticut if I had to to make sure that this team took care of my dogs. From the bottom of mine and Sharon's heart. We love you. You are now family to us and you cannot Begin to understand how much we are forever in your debt for saving our child. Thank you so much!

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The staff is wonderful and they took care of our 3 kitties while we lived in CT. They are always super accommodating and do their best to fit you in for emergencies. They’ve also been so helpful even now that we’ve moved and haven’t established new care yet. Highly recommend!!

Amazing staff. My dog is a handful, and they are always so professional and kind when taking care of him and dealing with me. Staff is very knowledgable, and incredibly nice. I could not recommend them more!
