Marley had his first doctor’s appointment today and we could not be more pleased with Dr Hageman and his team. He cleaned Marley’s ears (clearly he went over the top) did a very thorough exam, and administered vaccines. Dr Hageman answered all our questions regarding discipline, diet, vaccines and gave us instructions for after hour emergencies. We love you and your staff already Doc, Marley has a lifetime veterinarian❤️ thank you so much, The Brophys

Monticello Animal Hospital Introduce
Welcome to the introduction of Monticello Animal Hospital, a facility operating within the Pet Hospital category, located at 1 Oakview Dr, Monticello, IN 47960, USA. Serving the Monticello community and surrounding areas, Monticello Animal Hospital offers a range of veterinary services aimed at promoting the health and well-being of companion animals. The provided information includes contact details (phone number: (574) 583-7444, mobile phone: +1 574-583-7444) and two contrasting customer reviews that offer some insight into the services and the perceived environment and attitude of the staff, particularly the veterinarian, Dr. Hageman.
Based on the positive review, Monticello Animal Hospital appears to provide comprehensive initial veterinary care. The Brophys, who brought their pet Marley for his first doctor’s appointment, expressed great satisfaction with Dr. Hageman and his team. They highlighted several services received, including ear cleaning (described as exceptionally thorough), a comprehensive physical examination, and the administration of vaccines. Furthermore, Dr. Hageman proactively addressed the owners' questions regarding pet discipline, diet, and vaccines. He also provided instructions for handling after-hour emergencies, indicating a commitment to supporting pet owners beyond regular appointment times. This positive experience suggests a welcoming environment and a thorough approach to pet care, particularly for new patients.
In contrast, the second review presents a significantly different perspective, focusing on the experience of a cat owner. This reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with the veterinarian's demeanor, particularly in interactions involving their cats. They cited two instances of what they perceived as rude and unprofessional behavior. The first involved an inappropriate remark made during a vaccination, which the owner found "very unsettling." The second visit involved similar issues with the veterinarian's tone and attitude, conveying annoyance at having to care for cats. Additionally, the reviewer described an incident where one of their cats briefly exited a makeshift carrier within the examination room. The owner felt that the veterinarian's reaction to this was one of clear upset, conveyed through non-verbal cues like head-shaking and sighs, rather than a helpful or polite instruction regarding carriers. This negative feedback suggests a potential inconsistency in the bedside manner of the veterinarian, particularly towards feline patients, according to this reviewer.
Considering these contrasting reviews, it is challenging to definitively characterize the environment of Monticello Animal Hospital. The positive review suggests a caring and thorough practice, at least in the context of a first-time visit with a puppy. The negative review, however, paints a picture where a cat owner felt unwelcome and experienced unprofessional behavior. This discrepancy indicates that individual experiences may vary, potentially based on the type of pet or the specific interaction with the veterinarian. Further information would be needed to form a more holistic view of the clinic's overall atmosphere.
The services explicitly mentioned in the reviews include routine check-ups (thorough examinations), vaccinations for both dogs and cats, ear cleaning, and the provision of guidance on pet care topics such as discipline, diet, and emergency protocols. The positive review implies a willingness to answer pet owners' questions and provide comprehensive advice. The negative review does not detail the quality of the medical services themselves but focuses on the perceived attitude and communication style of the veterinarian. It is reasonable to assume that Monticello Animal Hospital offers other standard veterinary services expected of a Pet Hospital, such as diagnostic testing, treatment for illnesses, and potentially surgical procedures, although these are not specifically mentioned in the provided text.
In terms of features, the positive review highlights the thoroughness of the examinations, the willingness to educate pet owners, and the provision of emergency after-care instructions. These suggest a commitment to comprehensive patient care and client communication. The negative review, conversely, points to a potential lack of consistent professionalism and a perceived negative attitude towards cats by the veterinarian, at least in the experience of one pet owner. This suggests that a potential feature, or perhaps a point of concern, might be the variability in the veterinarian's interpersonal skills depending on the situation or the type of animal being treated.
There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Pet Hospitals often offer introductory discounts for new clients, wellness plans that bundle services, or seasonal promotions on specific treatments. To determine if Monticello Animal Hospital offers any such promotions, local users would need to contact the clinic directly.
In conclusion, Monticello Animal Hospital in Monticello, Indiana, is a Pet Hospital that appears to offer a range of veterinary services, including examinations and vaccinations for dogs and cats. While one customer reported a very positive experience with Dr. Hageman and his team, praising their thoroughness and care, another customer expressed significant dissatisfaction with the veterinarian's attitude and professionalism, particularly in the context of treating cats. This contrast in feedback suggests that experiences at Monticello Animal Hospital may vary. Local users are encouraged to consider these differing perspectives and perhaps seek further information or clarification from the clinic directly to determine if it meets their individual needs and expectations for pet care. Located at 1 Oakview Dr, Monticello, IN 47960, USA, Monticello Animal Hospital can be contacted at (574) 583-7444 or +1 574-583-7444 for more information about their services and approach to animal care.

Sep 12, 2024 · Tabitha LocklearDefinitely not cat people. I took both of my cats for their shots. The first time i went the Dr/Veteran made a inappropriate remark while giving her a shot "Yep, that's a female cat" as she's instinctively scared while being held down by people she doesn't know so abruptly. Very unsettling for such professionalism. Just recently went back for the cats shots again and He was once again rude. His tone, the way he carried himself, his attitude was much like he was annoyed that I came in with my cats (scheduled) Also I had made cat carrier from a laundry basket and very securely tied a big scarf on top to make sure the cats didn't get out. I let them out as soon as we got into one of the rooms and as he opened the door wide and one of my cats walked out, but they got him less than a minute. It was clear that the Dr/vet was upset and wasn't bothered to say i need an actual carrier very nicely. Again, his attitude, it's the shaking of the head and sighs of disappointment that I got from this man when all that went down. Definitely will be going somewhere else next time.
Jan 11, 2025 · Lexi PetrassiI don’t usually write reviews, but this really is just annoying. First I been coming here for a while they started out great and now they are just slacking. 1. I brought my dog for an appointment and it took almost an hour to get her in, even arriving 15 mins early. 2. I have a cat on their VIP plan, just know if you cancel it’s $25 and They dont tell you that the 10% does nothing. It will just be added to this VIP and you think you’re paying $55 a month. YOU WILL STILL HAVE TO PAY! Just don’t be fooled that you have to just pay extra for nothing. THEY ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE AND PETS! This is just wrong when people come for their pets and money is tight and you’re piling on things that my pets don’t need! This is why I’m not spending $1,098 on one tooth for my cat, they couldn’t even tell if she was fixed. When I went to a different vet, they took everything that Monticello couldn’t do for me. Definitely don’t stop here for further advice for your pets because you won’t get it.
Sep 24, 2024 · A HTook my dog in for pain doc advised X-ray , took 1 X-ray. Paid bill looked at bill thinking pretty high saw 1 X-ray was $348 dollars which is 6 or 7 times what other vets charge. Called office to complain and talked to Doctor. I thought that at that price o should have been told before hand . Was told he doesn't tell people because he doesn't want to insult them. And if I have limited funds I should ask. I requested refund , Dr said he's charging what he needs to keep business open. I am angry that I wasn't given info to make a choice. I live on social security and really can't afford this , which he replied my problem and I should have ask and he is not going to give any kind of refund. No way would I have dreamed 1 X-ray could cost that much and should have been told . They took advantage of me worried about my dog . Beware .
Oct 23, 2024 · lynn clayI loved how fast they were able to get my dog in because she was sick. On the other hand I felt like I was being talked down too and being treated like I was a child. It took everything in me to hold back the tears when they forced me to muzzle my dog. My dog was petrified the whole time and they treated her like she was some kind of monster that was going to eat them! Safe to say we will not be coming back to this place!
