They deserve more than 5 stars. We live in North Carolina but once a year we spend a couple weeks in our camper in Wisconsin. Up until this year we have been fortunate to have never needed a vet. My German Shepherd, Winston some how injured his leg and needed stitches. We called so many vets who refused to see him. Monfort was the only vet willing to see him and scheduled him for his suture surgery. Every single staff member was extremely sweet and helpful. I have invested thousands into his training and don't leave him with strangers, from the moment we walked in they made us feel welcomed and Winston instantly felt comfortable with them, after picking him up I could tell he was well taken care of the entire time they had him. I would drive the 1300 miles just to bring my dogs back. This clinic is by far the best I have ever taken any of my pets to.

Welcome to Montfort Veterinary Services Inc

Montfort Veterinary Services Inc, located at 200 US-18, Montfort, WI 53569, USA, serves the local community as a Pet Hospital. While a phone number isn't provided in the information, they offer veterinary services to pet owners in the area. Understanding the quality and nature of care provided by any Pet Hospital is crucial for pet owners. The available reviews offer contrasting perspectives on the services at Montfort Veterinary Services Inc.

One review comes from a pet owner visiting Wisconsin from North Carolina whose German Shepherd, Winston, required stitches for a leg injury. This individual had a challenging time finding a vet willing to see Winston but found Montfort Veterinary Services Inc accommodating, scheduling him for surgery. The reviewer was highly impressed with the entire staff, describing them as "extremely sweet and helpful." Despite being hesitant to leave their trained dog with strangers, they felt welcomed, and Winston appeared comfortable. Following the surgery, the owner felt Winston was "well taken care of the entire time." This positive experience led the reviewer to state that Montfort Veterinary Services Inc was "by far the best I have ever taken any of my pets to" and that they would willingly drive a significant distance to bring their dogs back. This testimonial highlights a clinic that is welcoming, helpful, and provides quality care, making both the pet and owner feel at ease, particularly in a situation where other clinics were unwilling to help.

However, another review presents a starkly different experience, advising against bringing an animal to this clinic for serious medical situations. This pet owner brought their dog, Maisie, in with a suspected blockage. Despite living over an hour away, they waited in Montfort for X-ray results but had to follow up themselves after an hour and a half. They were told the X-rays were clear, and Maisie would be monitored for not eating or drinking. The owner had to prompt about bloodwork, which hadn't been done despite the initial request. Communication was reportedly poor, with no updates provided unless the owner initiated contact.

The situation escalated when Maisie was sent home the next day, deemed "fine" despite still not eating or drinking. A recommended fecal test was later dismissed by the clinic. Ultimately, Maisie's condition worsened, leading to an emergency vet visit in Middleton. There, new X-rays revealed a serious blockage that required immediate surgery, and the emergency vet found the X-rays from Montfort to be unreadable. This reviewer expressed shock at the discrepancy in diagnoses and strongly criticized the "poor communication, misdiagnosis, and lack of urgency," especially in a critical situation. They do not recommend Montfort Veterinary Services Inc and advise going directly to the emergency vet in Middleton for serious conditions. This account raises significant concerns about the clinic's diagnostic capabilities and handling of potentially critical cases.

Based on these two contrasting customer experiences, it's challenging to paint a definitive picture of the environment, services, and features of Montfort Veterinary Services Inc. However, we can note the following:

  • One customer found the staff to be sweet and helpful, particularly in accommodating an out-of-town pet emergency.
  • That customer also felt their pet received good care and would return.
  • Conversely, another customer reported poor communication, a potential misdiagnosis, and a lack of urgency in a suspected serious medical situation.
  • The latter experience led to an emergency surgery at another facility due to a blockage not identified at Montfort Veterinary Services Inc.

There is no information provided regarding specific services offered beyond suture surgery and X-rays, nor any mention of promotional information. The environment of the clinic is also not described in detail, although one review suggests a welcoming atmosphere.

Given the conflicting nature of these reviews, local users considering Montfort Veterinary Services Inc as their Pet Hospital should weigh these experiences carefully. The positive review highlights their willingness to help in an emergency and the kindness of their staff. However, the negative review raises serious concerns about their ability to accurately diagnose and manage critical conditions, as well as their communication practices.

Without further information or a greater consensus in customer feedback, it is difficult to provide a comprehensive and objective introduction that fully addresses the environment, services, and features of Montfort Veterinary Services Inc. The two available accounts present very different realities of the care provided. Therefore, local users may want to seek additional reviews or consider contacting the clinic directly to inquire about their services, approach to different medical situations, and any other concerns they may have, to make an informed decision about their pet's care.

In conclusion, Montfort Veterinary Services Inc in Montfort, WI, has received both high praise for their welcoming and helpful approach during a pet emergency and severe criticism regarding communication and diagnostic accuracy in another serious case. Local pet owners should consider these contrasting experiences when deciding whether to entrust their pet's care to this Pet Hospital. Further research or direct contact with the clinic may be beneficial to gain a more rounded understanding of what they offer.

I do not recommend bringing any animal to this clinic if you're dealing with a serious medical situation. I brought my dog, Maisie, in on a Wednesday morning because I suspected she had a blockage after swallowing part of a towel. I live over an hour away but was staying in Montfort until I got a call saying her X-rays were done. I was told by the receptionist they would call me as soon as they had results. After waiting an hour and a half with no update, I followed up myself. I was told the X-rays didn’t show anything, but they were going to keep Maisie for monitoring since she hadn’t eaten or drank anything in two days. I asked about her bloodwork and was told the doctor would message me. The doctor later contacted me and said they hadn’t done any bloodwork and asked if I wanted it done—even though I had already requested it when I brought her in. I received no updates unless I called first. On Thursday, my fiancé picked Maisie up because the staff said “she seemed fine” and just needed to be monitored at home. But she still wouldn’t eat or drink. The paperwork we received stated a fecal test was recommended, so when Maisie finally pooped, we saved a sample. When we called to bring it in, they said, “We’re just happy she pooped—no need to bring the sample back.” That response felt dismissive and unprofessional. We ended up taking the sample to a local vet, who tested it and confirmed Maisie had a parasite. Sadly, that still wasn’t the worst part. That night, Maisie was clearly in pain, so I rushed her to the emergency vet in Middleton. I brought the X-rays from Montfort, but the emergency vet said they were unreadable and had to take new ones. The new X-rays clearly showed a serious blockage—Maisie needed emergency surgery right away. I was in shock. One vet had just told me my dog was fine and ready to go home. Less than eight hours later, another vet told me she needed emergency surgery. I will never take either of my dogs back to Montfort Vet, and I absolutely would not recommend them. The poor communication, misdiagnosis, and lack of urgency were unacceptable—especially in a critical situation. On top of that, I paid a bill and left without answers. If your pet is in serious condition, go directly to the emergency vet in Middleton, WI. They gave us the care, communication, and answers we needed. I just wish I had gone there first.

Dr. Meghan was amazing with my dog. When my dog still wasn’t acting normal, she went with her gut instinct to do another X-ray and saw blockage. She kept me updated throughout the surgery and even reached out a few days after surgery just to see how my dog was doing. I highly recommend Monfort Vet for their amazing staff and care for my dog and treating her like an actual human.

Receptionist and most of ladies there are plain rude and have a major attitude problem!!! They didn't verify my number. When I went to my appointment they said they moved the big animals to that day and the vet was out doing that, and they called and told me that. I told them I never received a call. They said I could leave my cat there and the vet would look at him when he returned. Once I was able to pick him up, the vet told me what was going on and what medicines he was going to give to me for my cat. I was getting ready to pay my bill and the receptionist said I was supposed to pick up the medicine the day before and they left it in a bin outside. I told them I NEVER received a call from them. Why would they give me medicine for my cat before he was even seen?!? The only good part is the vet. He was great. He was nice and explained everything! Probably won't be returning.
