I called Dr. Monroe to see if he could help our paralyzed dog. He was out of town but he called the day after he got home and left a message and then called again. He told us he couldn't help her but gave us other options and spent a lot of time on the phone educating me on her condition and what to do. I didn't pay him a cent and he wasn't expecting anything but his compassion was so amazing to me. He works with horses but if I had a horse I would take it to him. His integrity, compassion, knowledge and care is such that I haven't seen elsewhere.

Welcome to Monroe Jeff DVM
Introducing Monroe Jeff DVM, a dedicated veterinary professional operating within the Pet Hospital category, serving the Salt Lake City, UT area. While the address is listed generally as Salt Lake City, UT 84117, USA, and contact numbers are (801) 424-0748 and +1 801-424-0748, the available customer review provides significant insights into Dr. Monroe's practice, particularly his focus and his exceptional approach to client interactions. This introduction aims to detail the environment (as perceived through his communication style), services (as indicated by his area of expertise), and features, especially his notable personal qualities.
While the review does not describe a physical clinic environment, it strongly conveys a sense of Dr. Monroe's professional environment, characterized by responsiveness and a commitment to communication. Despite being out of town when contacted about a paralyzed dog, Dr. Monroe promptly followed up with the caller the day after his return. This demonstrates a dedication to timely communication and a willingness to engage with pet owners even when he cannot directly provide services. His actions of leaving a message and then calling again indicate a proactive and considerate approach to client inquiries. Although unable to assist with the specific case of the paralyzed dog, Dr. Monroe invested a significant amount of time educating the caller about the pet's condition and potential next steps. This suggests a practice environment where client education and support are valued, even in situations where direct treatment is not feasible.
The services offered by Monroe Jeff DVM, based on the provided review, primarily focus on equine veterinary care. The reviewer explicitly states, "He works with horses but if I had a horse I would take it to him." This clearly indicates Dr. Monroe's specialization in equine medicine, suggesting that his practice is likely equipped to handle the specific health needs of horses, including preventative care, diagnostics, medical treatments, and potentially surgical procedures relevant to equine patients. While he was unable to directly treat a paralyzed dog, his willingness to offer guidance and alternative options highlights a commitment to assisting pet owners in navigating the broader veterinary landscape, even for species outside his primary focus.
Several exceptional features of Dr. Monroe's practice are evident in the customer review. His compassion stands out as a primary characteristic. Despite not being able to provide direct treatment and not expecting any payment, Dr. Monroe dedicated a significant amount of time to educating the pet owner and offering guidance. This level of care and concern for an animal he does not typically treat, without any expectation of financial compensation, is remarkable and speaks volumes about his empathy for animals and their owners. His integrity is also highlighted by his willingness to be upfront about the limitations of his practice (not specializing in small animals) while still offering valuable assistance.
Furthermore, Dr. Monroe's knowledge is evident in his ability to educate the pet owner about the dog's condition and potential next steps. Even though it was outside his primary area of expertise, he possessed enough understanding to provide helpful information and guide the owner towards appropriate resources. This suggests a strong foundation in veterinary medicine beyond just equine care. His care is demonstrated through his proactive communication, the time he spent with the caller, and his genuine concern for the well-being of the animal, even one he couldn't treat directly.
The reviewer's statement that Dr. Monroe's "integrity, compassion, knowledge and care is such that I haven't seen elsewhere" serves as a powerful testament to his exceptional qualities as a veterinarian. While the review pertains to a situation where he couldn't provide direct service, it strongly suggests that his approach to his equine practice would be characterized by the same high level of ethical conduct, empathy, expertise, and dedication to his patients and their owners.
There is no promotional information available in the provided text. The review focuses entirely on a single interaction that was not related to his primary equine practice. Despite not being able to provide direct treatment, Dr. Monroe demonstrated a strong commitment to communication, client education, and offering guidance. His proactive follow-up and the significant time he spent assisting the caller, without any expectation of payment, highlight his dedication to the well-being of animals and their owners.
