Welcome to Miller Veterinary Hospital & Mobile Services

Miller Veterinary Hospital & Mobile Services, located at 408697 E 1030 Rd, Council Hill, OK 74437, USA, stands out in the veterinary landscape due to its dual offering: a dedicated hospital facility complemented by extensive mobile veterinary services. This unique model, led by Dr. Sara Miller, allows them to provide comprehensive and highly accessible care for a diverse range of animals, from cherished household pets to large farm animals and horses. You can reach them at (918) 800-3042, which also serves as their mobile contact.

Operating as a "Pet Hospital" in its broader sense, Miller Veterinary Hospital & Mobile Services is designed to meet varied veterinary needs, whether in a clinic setting or directly on a farm. Their commitment to accessibility and specialized care, particularly for large animals, makes them a vital resource for the agricultural and pet-owning communities in Council Hill and surrounding areas. The positive feedback from clients, especially regarding their mobile services and expertise with horses, highlights their valued position in the community.

Environment

The environment of Miller Veterinary Hospital & Mobile Services encompasses two main aspects: the physical hospital location and their mobile service capabilities. The hospital facility, referred to as "The Barn," recently opened as a large animal hospital in Council Hill, OK. This facility is equipped for haul-in appointments, emergencies, and critical care. It features:

  • Spacious concrete exam rooms and clinic space.

  • A surgical stall equipped with a rope recovery system, ensuring safe recovery from minor procedures like castrations.

  • An EquiVibe Therapy Platform for therapeutic treatments.

  • Multiple stalls, including two inside stalls and three outdoor stalls, for accommodating animals requiring observation or extended care.

  • 24/7 Camera Monitoring for continuous oversight of inpatients.

The hospital continually strives for growth, with upcoming projects planned, including a client lounge, a small animal surgery suite, a bovine maternity suite, a cattle working facility, and mare & foal runs. Clients are encouraged to call ahead to schedule appointments at the hospital.

For mobile services, their "environment" is literally the client's property, whether it's a farm with horses and cattle or a rural residence with companion animals. This mobile aspect requires veterinarians to be adaptable and skilled at performing examinations, diagnostics, and treatments in various settings. The positive reviews indicate that their mobile setup is efficient and well-equipped to handle emergencies and routine care on-site, demonstrating a commitment to convenience and hands-on care where the animals are most comfortable. The ability to come out to a farm, as noted by a satisfied customer, is a major advantage for large animal owners, saving them the logistical challenges of transporting animals to a clinic.

Services

Miller Veterinary Hospital & Mobile Services offers a comprehensive suite of veterinary services, demonstrating expertise across a wide range of species:

  • Mobile Services: A key offering, they provide house calls for various species, including horses, cattle, goats, sheep, camelids, pigs, and chickens, as well as companion animals (dogs and cats) in rural areas. This includes routine wellness care, minor illnesses, and emergency services directly on the client's property. Travel fees apply and vary by location. For cattle appointments, a chute is recommended for safe handling, though they can coordinate chute rentals if needed.

  • Equine Services: Dr. Sara Miller is particularly noted as a "true horsewoman" with extensive knowledge in equine care. Services include:

    • Routine wellness exams and vaccinations for horses.
    • Digital Coggins testing (for Equine Infectious Anemia) and Health Certificates (via Global Vet Link).
    • Fecal exams and deworming protocols.
    • Equine microchipping.
    • Podiatry services, including lameness care and collaborative work with farriers, ensuring comprehensive foot health.
    • Breeding services.
    • Pre-purchase exams.
    • Castration.
    • Shock Wave Therapy for various conditions.
    • Emergency care for injuries like gashes, as evidenced by the colt's emergency stitching.

  • Large Animal Services (Cattle, Goats, Sheep, Pigs, Camelids): They offer a broad range of services for livestock, often performed on-farm:

    • Vaccinations and parasite control.
    • Disbudding for goats and sheep.
    • Hoof care for small ruminants.
    • Castration and other minor procedures for pigs and camelids.
    • Pregnancy exams (ultrasound available) for cattle.
    • Dehorning for cattle.
    • Emergency services for all large animal species.

  • Companion Animal Services (Dogs & Cats): For pets, their services include:

    • Annual wellness exams and vaccinations (including Rabies and puppy/kitten vaccinations).
    • Digital Rabies Certificates.
    • Heartworm testing and treatment.
    • Minor illness care.
    • Shock Wave Therapy.
    • In-home euthanasia, providing a compassionate option for end-of-life care.

  • Emergency Services: They offer emergency veterinary care, as highlighted by Dr. Miller's after-hours response to a colt's gash. Emergency hours are listed as Monday-Friday 5:00 PM - 12:00 AM and Saturday-Sunday 9:00 AM - 12:00 AM, indicating a commitment to after-hours availability.

  • Online Pharmacy: Recognizing the mobile nature of the practice, they offer access to an online veterinary pharmacy (such as Vet's First Choice). This allows clients to order medications, foods, and preventatives directly to their home, with prescriptions approved by Dr. Miller after a valid Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) is established.

Features

Miller Veterinary Hospital & Mobile Services possesses several distinctive features that make it a highly valued veterinary provider:

  • Extensive Mobile Capabilities: This is perhaps their most prominent feature. The ability to travel to clients' farms and homes for routine care, wellness checks, and even emergencies for both large and small animals offers unparalleled convenience, especially for those in rural areas or with animals difficult to transport. This service is a significant advantage for large animal owners, as affirmed by customer testimonials.

  • Dr. Sara Miller's Expertise and Compassion: Dr. Miller is consistently praised by clients for her deep knowledge, particularly as a "true horsewoman." Her ability to work effectively with young horses, provide informative explanations, and handle complex cases like lameness or severe wounds showcases her high level of skill and dedication. Her compassionate approach, treating even a 17-year-old dog "like she was a pup," speaks to her excellent bedside manner across species.

  • Comprehensive Species Coverage: Unlike many practices that specialize in only small animals or large animals, Miller Veterinary Hospital & Mobile Services caters to a remarkably broad spectrum, including dogs, cats, horses, cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, and camelids. This makes them a one-stop-shop for mixed-animal households or farms.

  • Transparent and Fair Pricing: Clients consistently report that they "didn't feel overcharged or taken advantage of" and that pricing is "great at home visit costs." This transparency and perceived fairness in billing contribute significantly to client trust and satisfaction.

  • Responsiveness for Urgent Needs: Dr. Miller's willingness to answer calls after 9 PM and come out the next morning for an emergency demonstrates a strong commitment to responsive care for urgent situations, which is crucial for animal well-being.

  • Team Collaboration (e.g., with farrier): The mention of Dr. Miller working with a farrier like Justin highlights a collaborative approach to animal health, particularly in specialized areas like equine podiatry, ensuring comprehensive care. The synergy between their veterinary and farrier skills provides a holistic solution for horse owners.

  • Focus on Client Education: Customers note that Dr. Miller is "very knowledgeable and informative" and does a "great job of explaining what is happening." This commitment to educating pet and livestock owners empowers them to make informed decisions and better participate in their animals' care.

Promotional Information

Miller Veterinary Hospital & Mobile Services' core value proposition revolves around accessible, expert care delivered with transparency. While specific, overt promotional offers might not be widely advertised in the same way as some retail-focused clinics, their fundamental operational model provides significant benefits that act as promotions:

  • Convenience of Mobile Services: The primary "promotion" is the inherent convenience and potential cost-effectiveness of their mobile services. For large animal owners, avoiding the need to transport animals, especially injured or ill ones, is a massive saving in time, effort, and potential stress for the animal. While travel fees apply, this often outweighs the logistical challenges and costs of hauling large animals to a distant clinic.

  • Fair and Transparent Pricing: The consistent positive feedback about not feeling "overcharged" and the "great at home visit costs" serves as a powerful word-of-mouth promotion. Their commitment to clear and reasonable pricing builds long-term trust, which is a key factor in client retention and referrals.

  • Expertise in Specialized Care: Dr. Sara Miller's reputation as a "true horsewoman" and her ability to handle complex equine and large animal cases acts as a strong draw for owners of these animals. Specialized knowledge and successful outcomes are powerful attractors in the veterinary field, especially for niche services.

  • Emergency Availability: The provision of after-hours emergency services, even if within specific timeframes, is a critical service that promotes peace of mind for clients, knowing they have a dependable option for urgent needs.

  • Online Pharmacy Convenience: Offering an online pharmacy that delivers directly to homes, with veterinary approval, is a modern convenience that saves clients time and effort in acquiring necessary medications and products. This streamlines the process and ensures genuine veterinary products.

  • Personalized Relationship-Building: The emphasis on building strong relationships with clients and their animals, as suggested by reviews ("look forward to working with her in the future"), fosters loyalty. This personalized approach is a significant factor in client satisfaction and contributes to their long-term success.

For precise details on travel fees for mobile services, specific service costs, or to inquire about any current promotions or packages, it is highly recommended to contact Miller Veterinary Hospital & Mobile Services directly at (918) 800-3042.

I contacted Dr. Sarah Miller because my colt got a bad gash on his head, close to his eye.. I called after 9pm and Dr. Miller wss very sweet & helpful on the phone... she came the next morning to stitch up my boy and did a great job! She is very knowledgeable and informative, a true horsewoman that worked well with my young horse, and I didn't feel over charged or taken advantage of. I'm glad to have found a good vet and look forward to working with her in the future (hopefully under better circumstances for me/my horses)!!

Rachel Rowe- I cannot say enough about this husband and wife team that i am convinced saved my horse ! They are amazing with knowledge of veterinarian medicine for Sarah and amazing farrier skill with Justin! I could not have picked anyone else better to help me with my horse’s terrible abscess that went through the bottom of his hoof and came out the top ! Also found some laminitis and white line issues that they attended to as well. I had another vet out in the beginning who believed he popped the abscess and now we hoped it would drain. In the next day my horse started shaking in over 100’ heat index , totally lame on his front abscess foot and in so much pain with extreme heat going up his leg. i knew something was terribly wrong ! frantically i tried to find a vet who could look deeper with capacity to do portable x-rays. My first vet thought he could have broken a bone and that needed to be ruled out, this was before he got worse. I called 10 vets that day. No one could come everyone was booked or on vacation etc.. On the 10 th vet I called that day Sarah said it sounded like he really needed to be looked at today and she would try to move some things around and come. She was on another call and over hour away. They came thank God and stayed for hours and didn’t leave till dark .. They knew right what to do and got to work. Then they came out every two to three days till I was confident I could take over maintenance of his recovery myself. Their confidence in what they were doing, they way they worked together , and Justin being a farrier enabled them to fully take care of this foot issue. They were wonderful to work with very likable, always willing to explain anything g I asked skilled and Great people! I actually miss seeing them now they don’t have to come so often! I can’t believe i got so lucky to find them and they came through God must have arranged this connection because I had no idea they were husband and wife team, didn’t know he was a farrier expert on hoofs etc .So thankful for them hoping my horse makes a full recovery !
