First visit today. Clean, new facility. Spoke with other customers and obtained really positive feedback. The people there seem to really care about animals. They offered a full range of treatment options and weren’t pushing me into making an expensive choice. They even suggested options for getting some things at a lower cost. We will return with our dog for physical therapy.

- "Our boy Gus (7-year-old German Shepherd) developed an occasional limp in the fall of 2023 that was getting progressively worse. We went for a consult with Dr. Bergh in January. Gus had TPLO surgery in early May. It's now August 14th, and Gus is pretty much back to his pre-injury status. Dr. Bergh is excellent. If we had to do it again, we would go to Dr. Bergh. Midwest Veterinary Specialists has a very clean and welcoming facility. Dr. Bergh (and staff) were wonderful on every level."

Dec 06, 2024 · Tim Garcia-BrownOur boy Gus (7 year old German Shepherd) developed an occasional limp in the fall of 2023 that was getting progressively worse. He's our faithful cold-weather hiking companion with over 1000 miles on the Ice Age, North Country, and Superior Hiking Trail in WI, the UP and North Shore of MN, so we were pretty devastated at the prospect of hiking without him. We went for a consult with Dr. Bergh in January. Gus had TPLO surgery in early May. Its now August 14th and Gus is pretty much back to his pre-injury status (and ready for hiking season!) Dr. Bergh is excellent. If we had to do it again, we would go to Dr. Bergh. Midwest Veterinary Specialists has a very clean and welcoming facility. Dr. Bergh (and staff) were wonderful on every level. To prospective clients (dog parents) I will say the process was probably harder on us than the dog. Its very hard to see your little buddy unable to do normal dog things during rehab. Heartbreaking at times when they need assistance just to get outside for a bathroom break and they don't understand what has happened. Its all worth it when you see them running and smiling when they are all healed up. Focus on the end result to stay positive. For prospective clients/dog parents I would also say, in addition to the cost you are quoted for surgery, keep in mind there will be additional costs for follow up care/meds etc.
Aug 14, 2024 · Hugh JarmisI am writing this review on “graduation day”. We came to MVS from 4+ hours away at the recommendation of my breeder/friend/instructor for our puppy’s confirmatory bilateral shoulder OCD diagnosis and surgery. The surgery went well and I can’t say enough positive things about this clinic and staff. Everyone was so kind, attentive and patient. It’s not easy managing a sweet but starved-for-action, 7-8 month old border collie puppy! If distance weren’t a barrier, I would have elected to utilize their rehab services as well. We have sport dog dreams and hope to be able to update this review with a report on him living his best life, doing agility and chasing discs!
Feb 21, 2025 · Carissa WemmieExceptional Doctors (Dr. Bergh) and excellent staff, top notch care for animals. They are understanding, professional experts. They are trustworthy, and personable- understanding of pet parents worry and going the extra mile with customer service. They were fantastic with my Mollie!
Nov 18, 2024 · Lauren S.We took our 8 year old Pitbull here when our regular veterinarian was very hesitant to perform a facial soft cell sarcoma surgery. After speaking with Dr. Dearmin, he was very knowledgeable about the topic, confident in his abilities to remove the lump with hardly any issues, and instilled trust in us that our vet did not do. Our pups surgery went very well, and Dr. Dearmin was able to completely remove the cancerous cells. They sent it to pathology and we learned that our sweet boy was cancer free! He just had his 2 week post op visit and they removed his sutures. The employees were so sweet to our pup throughout the whole visits, and even gave him a graduation tug of war toy! We would highly recommend this specialty clinic if you are feeling any despair about your pups health!
