Been going to Dakota Veterinary for over a year and recently moved. We thought the vets were taking good care of our dog but were fooled and highly overcharged for the slightest care. We asked the doctor if our dog has arthritis and were told no, but come to find out our new vet confirmed she does in fact have bad arthritis in her back legs. Not only that but we were told our dog was chipped and Dakota never even checked in the year and a half we brought our dog there, luckily our new vet checked first thing and once again come to find out she’s not chipped. Did I mention how overpriced everything is there also, we brought our dog to a new vet and the cost was only $200 for the same check up we would get her at Dakota which they would charge over $600 for. In addition, our new vet confirmed our dog needs to loose 8-10 lbs where Dakota vets told us our dog was a normal weight. Highly Unknowledgeable vets and very upset about how much money we spent for false information by so called “great vets” Highly disappointed with the entire Dakota Clinic team and glad we changed doctors so we’re not paying ridiculous prices for terrible vets. Don’t be fooled, go to another animal clinic.

Welcome to Michalek Peter J DVM

This introduction focuses on Michalek Peter J DVM, a Pet Hospital located at 381 Dobbs Ferry Rd, White Plains, NY 10607, USA. As a local Pet Hospital, it likely offers a range of veterinary services and possibly related goods for pet owners in the area. To provide local users with a detailed and objective understanding, we've analyzed the available customer reviews to highlight the reported experiences.

The customer feedback regarding this veterinary practice, which appears to operate under the name "Dakota Veterinary" according to one reviewer, presents a mixed picture with significant concerns raised by some pet owners. One detailed review from a former customer who moved away after over a year of patronage expresses considerable disappointment. This reviewer felt "fooled and highly overcharged for the slightest care." They recounted an instance where they inquired about their dog having arthritis and were told no, only to have a new vet confirm a diagnosis of "bad arthritis" in the dog's back legs. Additionally, they reported being told their dog was microchipped, but upon checking with the new vet, it was discovered that the dog was not chipped at all, and Dakota Veterinary had apparently not checked this in the year and a half the dog was brought there.

Furthermore, this reviewer strongly criticized the pricing at Dakota Veterinary, stating that a routine check-up that cost over $600 there was only $200 at their new veterinarian. They also mentioned that their new vet advised their dog needed to lose 8-10 pounds, contradicting the Dakota vets who had allegedly told them their dog was a normal weight. The reviewer concluded by labeling the Dakota vets as "Highly Unknowledgeable" and expressed significant upset about the money spent on what they perceived as "false information by so called 'great vets'." This strongly negative experience led the reviewer to advise others to "go to another animal clinic."

Another brief review echoed this sentiment, stating they were "Highly disappointed with the entire Dakota Clinic team and glad we changed doctors so we’re not paying ridiculous prices for terrible vets." This further reinforces the concerns raised about pricing and the quality of veterinary care as perceived by these customers.

However, not all feedback is negative. One customer shared a positive experience, stating, "They always took great care of my baby from the beginning to the end. I can't say enough about the doctors and the staff at Dakota." This review offers a contrasting viewpoint, highlighting positive care from both the doctors and the staff. This suggests that some pet owners have had satisfactory experiences with this Pet Hospital.

Given these conflicting accounts, it is difficult to definitively describe the environment, services, and features of Michalek Peter J DVM (Dakota Veterinary). The positive review hints at a caring environment and competent staff. Services would likely include general veterinary check-ups, diagnosis, and potentially procedures like microchipping (though the accuracy of this at this clinic has been questioned by one reviewer). As a Pet Hospital, they might also offer vaccinations, treatments for illnesses, and possibly sell pet-related goods.

The negative reviews, however, raise serious concerns about the knowledge and thoroughness of the veterinary staff, the transparency and fairness of their pricing, and potentially even the accuracy of information provided to pet owners. The discrepancy in diagnosing arthritis, the incorrect information about the microchip, and the significant difference in the cost of a basic check-up are all worrying points raised by one customer.

Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided text. Therefore, we cannot comment on any special offers or unique selling points being advertised by Michalek Peter J DVM (Dakota Veterinary).

For local users in White Plains, NY, considering Michalek Peter J DVM for their pet care needs, it is crucial to take into account these varied experiences. The positive review suggests that some have found good care there, while the negative reviews present significant red flags regarding diagnosis accuracy, pricing, and the thoroughness of basic procedures. Potential clients may want to weigh these points carefully and perhaps seek additional information or consider other local Pet Hospitals to ensure they find the best care for their pets.

To gain further clarity, local users might consider contacting the clinic directly at (914) 421-0020 or +1 914-421-0020 to ask specific questions about their services, pricing, and approach to pet care. Visiting the facility at 381 Dobbs Ferry Rd, White Plains, NY 10607, could also provide a personal impression of the environment and staff.

In conclusion, the available customer reviews for Michalek Peter J DVM (potentially operating as Dakota Veterinary) in White Plains, NY, present a mixed picture. While one review praises the care provided by the doctors and staff, others express strong dissatisfaction with perceived overcharging, diagnostic inaccuracies, and a lack of thoroughness. Local pet owners should consider these perspectives when making decisions about their pet's veterinary care. Further research and direct communication with the clinic may be advisable.
