I cannot thank the staff here enough for the thorough and compassionate care that my dog received as we managed his heart failure, and for the 9 (and some change) months that he was able to enjoy as we navigated his condition, despite the many complicating factors stacked against him. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye recently as the severity of his symptoms had progressed beyond what could be managed despite everyone's best efforts, but the quality of life that Jack was able to enjoy as a result of the care he received was such a blessing to all of us. Thank you all so much for everything.

Mar 06, 2025 · India HoganWe loved our experience! Coming in for an emergency vet visit is never fun. We had to drive 2 hours to see them based on wait times away from home where it happened. Being a reactive dog mom I can’t say enough good things about them! They listened to everything that I said and accommodated what would best suit Lucky. I know my dog extremely well and how he will react in most situations. They had the lobby cleared for us and we didn’t encounter another dog the whole visit. They let Lucky wait in his car crate while I did the checkout process because that’s where he would be most comfortable. The vet didn’t force him to do anything and I was able to handle him for her which makes him WAY more comfortable! He doesn’t love people he doesn’t know handling him. It may have taken a little more time for me to do the handling but it made it almost stress free for both of us. The discharge instructions were simple to follow and explained well. They also followed up and continued to listen to what I have to say. Will happily go back!
Sep 25, 2024 · LaurenShort version: I recommend. I called before coming, got quoted, and had the best doctor (James Buckman) to treat my cat. They explained everything and answered every question I had. I felt very comfortable and at ease from check-in to check-out. I also wanted to note that I was reached out to via text after he was sent home and have had a doctor respond to any/every question I’ve had in my cat’s recovery journey. [UPDATE]: I did knock this review down from 5 to 4 stars because the people who pick up the phone are either a hit or miss and it can be very discouraging to vulnerable pet parents who are asking for help. Details: my male cat (TJ) was growling at where he pees out of when he would groom himself which suggested he was either blocked or probably had a UTI of some sort. This went on for a few days until I began giving him all natural UTI drops into his food and for about a week and half things seemed normal / fixed. I stopped giving him the drops over the weekend and noticed instantly the growling came back and so I made an appointment with my normal vet for Monday morning. Early on Monday morning, I followed TJ to the litter box and noticed he didn’t produce anything and growled as he exited. I called my vet and explained the situation and they said 9 out of 10 times this is a blockage and he will need some type of procedure or survey done in more severe cases. I called two different ER/vet hospitals and metro seemed like the better option - both were nice, but metro was more reasonably priced (side note: they lowballed the costs, but within reason). I called metro to let them know I was on my way, they had me answer questions over the phone so that checking in was quick and easy and as soon as I got there, TJ was taken back within ~10 minutes. They examined him and then Dr. Buckman called me back and was very knowledgeable and an extremely great people person. He answered most my questions before I thought of them, was very calming, and understanding (I kept interrupting him when a question would pop up in my brain yet he would always answer and circle back so effortlessly). Everything was clearly explained and laid out for me on what the issue was (he was blocked, his bladder was the size of a balloon with no clear cause and effect), what the options were (procedure vs surgery), what they recommended (procedure), what the recovery process would look like (catheter), and what the costs would be looking like with the information they now have ($2-2.5k, I do want to note that the other vet hospital quoted me 3-6k). They sent me home and the Dr. called me after the procedure to give me an update and when I’d be able to take him home. They had my cat overnight then called me the next day saying his recovery was moving along so flawlessly that I could pick him up late that night (which was early and saved me some money). Pick up was easy and the check out vet was great as well - she wrote extra notes on his discharge paper for me to easily follow his medicine regimen for the next few days. Overall, extremely happy I took TJ here and would recommend to anyone! He’s been home for 4 days now and has transition smoothly and is at 90% himself. Thank you Metropolitan!!!
Dec 23, 2024 · Heather ClausI’ve brought my dogs a few times here over the years and they always received great care! Just recently brought my 10 year old Lab in to have 3 masses removed by Dr. Hearon and I can’t say enough good things about her and her team. When I had concerns about fluid around one incision this past weekend, Dr. Mackintosh fit me in last minute on Sunday so I could have some peace of mind. Highly recommend Metro for all your emergency and specialist needs!
Jan 27, 2025 · Alicia GautilleEveryone was kind and courteous. Dr Crossman was amazing and got to the source of my dogs issue. The place is spotless and environmental staff were non stop cleaning. Waiting room is very pleasant w fish tank and refreshments. I felt that my dog was getting excellent care. No hesitation to go back , if needed.
