Metropolitan Animal Emergency and Specialty Center

We came around midnight with my doggo due to diarrhea, vomiting, bloody stool. No pet insurance. Diagnostic, blood test, fluids shot, and meds cost us a bit over 500$. Doggo felt much better right after the visit. If I could advise something based on this experience it would be this: always ask to talk to the Doctor to discuss your treatment options before agreeing on any procedures, not with nurse. Our bill could easily be over 1600$, but we spoke with Doc and she advised to start with minimal required procedures. Also she was very kind to share a website with more info about homemade food preparation for dogs, very informative. Another nice touch was that they actually called back the next day to check how my dog was doing. Thank you very much guys!

I want to say how amazing this place treated my dog teeny for the 2 days she was in. I am so thankful and blessed to have had great people taking good care of her while she was not feeling good. I also want to say thank you for making it so easy for me to be able to say my last good byes to my dog and let her go peacefully.

Love your Pet do not use them!!! Biggest thing is that doctor very coldly said, “Your cat is fine, and she is blind” in a matter-of-fact voice. Like do you want water. So, for that night we cried and held our 17-year-old cat but turns out she CAN see perfectly. Saw laser from one room across another and chased it around. Second, they did not do exam with us. Never had that happen in any vet or vet hospital. Doctor did not even talk to us first. Said that both of her retinals where blown. She is either incompetent or did not look in eyes. I had wiped her one eye for discharge beforehand and she said that she did not see anything and wouldn’t even look at discharge on tissue. They came with list of tests she wanted to do but just got blood pressure checked and decided we would see our vet. I asked for copy of original estimate and was told no and did not even get copy of reduced list of prices. Do not even believe they really did it after saying she was blind.

The people here are AMAZING. They saved my pup's life. He swallowed a rope toy which ended up lodged in his intestinal tract. He was in Friday afternoon, released 24 hours later. The front desk staff is very professional, friendly, and attentive. The doctors, what can I say about them? This is where the amazing comes in. Both Dr. Yang and Dr. Ringley were very attentive, detail oriented. The way they spoke and explained the situation gave off confidence in that they knew how to address the issue while displaying care for my dog. My pup is now recovering comfortably and even after his procedure I called for follow-up questions and they went out of their way to help me. Thank you so much for everything you did!

My newly adopted dog was under the weather and needed to be seen late on a Wednesday night. The staff at Metropolitan were incredibly friendly, and the service was prompt. They provided different treatment options and a written cost estimate, and were able to get my dog feeling better again quickly. All told, we were in and out in an hour Having been a dog owner for many years before, I understand the cost of veterinary treatment, and found the cost for service to be reasonable, especially for a 24 hour facility. For newer pet owners, there may be sticker shock if you've never had to use emergency vet services before. This was my second time using Metro, and will keep going back whenever I need emergency services!
