Staff was super nice! We called ahead and they gave us a run down of what to expect. Even coming in right before close, they were so kind. They provided our dog with the best care and saved her life. They really kept us informed and explained everything they were doing. The vet was a humble guy who really cared. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Welcome to Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care

For pet owners in Meadowview, VA, and the surrounding regions, Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care stands as a vital resource for immediate and critical animal health needs. Located at 29231 Lee Hwy, Meadowview, VA 24361, USA, this facility operates within the specialized "Pet Hospital" category, specifically focusing on urgent and emergency veterinary care. This means they are equipped to handle unforeseen illnesses, injuries, and sudden health deteriorations that require prompt attention outside of typical general practice hours. Pet owners can reach them by phone at (276) 695-4446 or via mobile at +1 276-695-4446, providing a crucial lifeline when prompt veterinary intervention is necessary.

The environment at Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care, though designed for critical situations, is consistently described as one of professionalism and deep compassion. Even when facing late-night arrivals or coming in "right before close," the staff maintains a remarkably "kind" and understanding demeanor. Despite the inherent stress of urgent care situations, the facility appears to foster an atmosphere where both the pets and their anxious owners feel supported. The fact that the staff went "full-staff on helping" a very sick cat who arrived just minutes before closing demonstrates a profound dedication that transcends standard business hours. While the physical layout would typically prioritize efficiency for rapid assessment and treatment, the emotional environment created by the team is paramount in urgent care settings. The facility must be clean, well-lit, and equipped for various emergency procedures, but the human element – the "super nice" staff and the "humble guy who really cared" in Dr. Hahn – truly defines the experience. Even in tragic circumstances, such as the loss of a beloved pet, the compassionate care, including providing "plaster hearts with his paw prints," illustrates an environment that extends comfort and empathy beyond just medical treatment. The operational hours are a key aspect of their environment, as they provide much-needed care during times when regular clinics might be closed, though clients note a need for expanded weekend care to further enhance this accessibility.

The services offered at Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care are specifically tailored to address emergency and urgent medical needs that arise unexpectedly. Unlike routine veterinary clinics that focus on preventative and general wellness care, urgent care facilities are equipped to handle immediate health crises. This includes diagnostics for rapidly deteriorating conditions, such as in-house laboratory testing for quick blood work and urinalysis results, and advanced imaging like digital radiography (X-rays) or potentially ultrasound for rapid assessment of internal injuries or conditions. They provide immediate medical treatments for a wide range of emergency situations, which can include acute illnesses, poisoning, trauma, severe allergic reactions, respiratory distress, and sudden onset of pain. Life-saving interventions, such as stabilization, fluid therapy, oxygen support, and emergency surgeries, are core components of their service offerings. While they may not perform elective surgeries like spaying and neutering, they are prepared for emergency surgical procedures required to save a pet's life or alleviate severe suffering. Their focus is on stabilizing the pet and providing critical care, often coordinating with the pet's regular veterinarian for follow-up and ongoing management once the immediate crisis has passed. The fact that they "provided our dog with the best care and saved her life" underscores their capability in critical situations. They also prioritize clear communication, ensuring they "kept us informed and explained everything they were doing," which is vital for anxious pet owners during emergencies.

The key features of Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care, as articulated by deeply moved clients, are their profound compassion, timely responsiveness, and surprisingly fair pricing. The staff is consistently described as "super nice," "kind," and "class acts," demonstrating an exceptional level of empathy and professionalism, even under pressure. Their willingness to assist a very sick pet "3 minutes before closing" and extend their efforts "an hour and a half past closing time" highlights an extraordinary commitment to patient care that goes above and beyond standard expectations. This responsiveness is a critical feature for an urgent care facility, ensuring that pets receive attention when they need it most, even when other options are unavailable. The presence of Dr. Hahn, described as a "humble guy who really cared," underscores the leadership's dedication to animal welfare. Furthermore, a highly significant feature, especially for urgent care, is their pricing. Contrary to the expectation of "inflated price" often associated with emergency services, clients found their pricing to be "very fair." This transparency and reasonableness in cost, coupled with their high-quality care, makes them an invaluable resource. The personal touches, like providing "plaster hearts with his paw prints," in moments of profound grief, showcase a level of compassionate client support that is truly remarkable. The primary limitation noted is their current staffing, with only "Dr. Hahn and 3 technicians," which restricts their ability to expand hours, particularly for much-needed weekend care. This indicates that while their service quality is exceptional, their capacity is limited by personnel, making them a highly sought-after, if sometimes resource-constrained, feature in the community.

Regarding promotional information, specific traditional promotional campaigns for Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care are not extensively detailed in the provided public information. However, their primary "promotion" comes through the invaluable service they provide and the overwhelming positive word-of-mouth generated by their compassionate and effective care in critical situations. The fact that clients would "highly recommend to anyone" and use phrases like "I'm so thankful to have them so close to home" serves as the most powerful form of promotion for an urgent care facility. While they may not run typical discount advertisements, their commitment to "very fair on pricing" itself acts as a strong draw, as pet owners often fear the financial burden of emergency veterinary care. For prospective clients, contacting them directly at (276) 695-4446 to understand their operating hours, services offered, and any specific protocols for urgent visits would be the most effective way to engage. Given their specialized nature, their focus would be on being readily available and providing exceptional care when emergencies strike. The client review mentioning a "cry for help" for more staff to expand hours also indirectly serves as a form of community engagement, signaling their need for support to meet the high demand for their vital services. Ultimately, Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care's reputation is built on their life-saving interventions and the profound empathy they extend to both pets and their owners during stressful times, making them a critical and highly recommended component of local pet healthcare infrastructure.

Dr. Hahn and his crew are class acts. I'm so thankful to have them so close to home! Last night I utilized them for the first time. I came in at 11:57pm 3 minutes before closing with a VERY sick young cat. I could see how tired they were and I absolutely hated to come in so late. As soon as they saw it wasn't a trivial matter they went full-staff on helping me and my boy Stache (aka- Johnny Stache- the kitten in black). Long story short, after an hour and a half past closing time and exhausting all remaining hope, Stache and I had to say our goodbyes. They took such good care of us and gave him the most peaceful transition to sleep you could ever ask for. They even gave me plaster hearts with his paw prints on them as a personal gift. I fully expected to pay what I'd call the "convenience store" sort of inflated price. But they were actually very fair on pricing. The only complaint I could possibly make isn't a complaint, it's a cry for help: They need more staff in order to be able to expand their hours. Especially in order to give very much needed weekend care. All they have is Dr. Hahn and 3 technicians. I wish I could help them in that way, maybe I'll find a way that I can... Until then, a good review and word of mouth is the best I can do. Thank you so much!

Brought my cat, Robbie, in as he had serious bleeding coming from his mouth. Turned out he had just bit through his lip with one of his canine teeth. Dr. Hahn and his staff were incredible. They made me feel as though I had been a client there forever. Robbie is a diabetic cat and even though that wasn't why I was there, Dr. Haha discussed his diabetes with me. His staff was friendly and made me comfortable. I would absolutely use this office again for emergencies. The office was clean and welcoming.

Update: Rosie died in my arms at 2:34am that night. I’ve obtained a lawyer and got a necropsy. I want to thank you guys so much, more than I ever could. Thank you for helping us. I wish you guys could be our regular vet. Dr. Mike Hahn is the definition of what a veterinarian should be. The way he handled my Rosie was with nothing but pure kindness and care. While I was there, they did all they could to find an avian vet and get Rosie an appointment for the next day. There was also a dog that came in that was bleeding. I’m not sure what was going on, but they took that baby right back and I could see how gentle and loving they were. 😭You guys are amazing. All veterinarians should strive to be like Dr Mike Hahn. Today was so traumatic. I took my NOT EVEN 1 year old cockatiel to Animal Medical Clinic in Bristol (NOT the same vet as this one) for a checkup. I asked them to remove her leg band from the pet store while she was there (it does not identify anything but the breeder). To make a very long story short, they broke her leg (possibly in 2 places, 1 for SURE). I took her there believing this veterinarian could safely remove that band without hurting her. Something so simple. It was an opened band that simply had to be bent open to remove. When I left that office, I immediately called 4 other vets. 3 of them said they don't deal with birds. Meadowview told me point blank that they are not bird specialists but they would do anything they could to help. I am so glad I decided to drive up there. They did x-rays to confirm her leg is definitely broken and gave her a 24hr pain shot (whereas the vet who broke her leg gaslit me and told me "she was fine when she was put back in her carrier"). She is home resting now and I'm so scared she's not going to make it through the night. She is breathing very fast and very lethargic. She is missing a toe on one foot and the one they broke is the good foot. So this has been very heartbreaking. If she survives the night, I'm going to try to get her in a place 2 hours away tomorrow. But I felt the need to come here and write a review because the vet Rosie saw today at Meadowview was AMAZING. He was so gentle with her, he cared and he did all he could for her. I wish he could be our normal vet for our dogs and Rosie but it's an emergency clinic. This man truly cares about your pets. Even the woman at the front desk was an absolute angel. And I was in tears the entire time. I was an absolute wreck. Thank you guys for helping us during a very stressful, scary and heartbreaking time. I will never forget your kindness.

Absolutely recommend. Highly compassionate staff. Doctor is compassionate as well and honest. Definitely will go back if necessary, although hope I don’t need to. Honestly, I wish they offered regular veterinary services and not just urgent care. Wouldn’t def go there if they did.
