I don't want to knock this place too hard because the reception employees are beyond awesome and that is what keeps this from being a 1-star review. We were visiting the area while traveling for a few weeks camping and our 1 dog, Henry Ford, looked like he had an ear infection. So, we called our home vet for advice, and they suggested we get him in right away at a local vet to check the ear drum. My husband called this facility, and they got us in within hours. The facility itself is well-maintained and well-stocked with pet supplies. The receptionists, including Tracy, were very nice. The issue we had was the vet- Dr. Knox. I am not quite sure if she was having a bad day, a bad week, doesn't like her job, or what but there was a complete lack of interpersonal skills with humans and animals. I know that people who work with animals probably like animals more than humans so I don't expect fantastic skills with humans but there was nothing even with our dog. Dr. Knox was extremely serious and appeared annoyed with my questions about Henry's infection and treatment. She never once happily patted Henry or interacted with him. My husband held him while she checked his ear. She did not give Henry any positive words or smiles after she checked his ear and gave him the drops. I mean, I was shocked at how detached she was as a vet towards our dog. So, I gave him lots of positive words and said we would get him a cheeseburger after the visit. You would think that I told him I was going to poison him with her reaction to giving him human food. Seriously?! Yes, we feed him dog food but we also give him treats. I am sure many pet parents do. I told my husband after we left that I would never come back to this clinic again if we had to see Dr. Knox. Update June 2024: I did knock this review from 3 to 2 stars because never heard anything from the clinic after expressing my concerns to them. Poor poor customer service from the owners/doctors/whoever is in charge of troubleshooting a dissatisfied pup owner.

Jun 09, 2024 · Tracey BAbsolutely love the people here they are ALWAYS friendly and helpful and care about my animals I trust them completely and wouldn't take my babies anywhere else
Mar 13, 2025 · Paul CobleThe staff is so kind and you can tell they really love our fur babies , we recently had to take our 18 year old cat Casper in for medical care, unfortunately he didn't survive. The staff was so kind and walked us through the process of having him cremated so we could take him home with us. One of the vet techs gathered some small glass vials and allowed us to pick a couple, she put a clipping of his hair in the vial so we would have it. It was a gesture of kindness that meant so much to us. Thank you. Casper's parents Les and Paula
Mar 01, 2025 · les vaughanEveryone there was so helpful and kind. Iv had a few things my girl has had to be seen for but most recent was surgery to fix a hooded vulva. They did such a fantastic job and took care of my baby like she was their own. I would never go anywhere else.
Feb 19, 2025 · Angela RiceLucy is our second dog to bring to McKinney. We were so happy with you the first time that when we adopted another pup there was no question we would use you again. Very happy with Elizabeth’s grooming skills and Tracy is a treasure. I was happy to see she is still there. Everyone is kind and caring. I’m also partial to Dr Shipman and trust her completely. A+++++ all the way around.
