There’s no place I’d trust more to take care of Ollie. They’re all so super nice, concerned, thorough and competent. They’ve literally saved my sweet boy. Dr. Gilliam even called to check on him after our visit.

Welcome to Maury County Veterinary Hospital: Threadgill C J DVM

Maury County Veterinary Hospital, located at 1118 W 7th St, Columbia, TN 38401, USA, is a well-established and comprehensive "Pet Hospital" that caters to a wide range of animal needs, from small companion animals to large livestock. With contact numbers (931) 388-4750 and mobile +1 931-388-4750, the hospital operates six days a week, including Saturdays, demonstrating its commitment to accessible veterinary care for the Columbia, Maury County, and surrounding communities. The practice is supported by a team of veterinarians, including Dr. C. J. Threadgill, who are dedicated to providing quality care.

The environment at Maury County Veterinary Hospital, as perceived by clients, presents a mixed picture. One highly positive review highlights the staff as "super nice, concerned, thorough and competent," specifically commending Dr. Gilliam for literally "saving my sweet boy" and even calling to check on him after the visit. This suggests a caring, attentive, and highly professional environment where staff go above and beyond to provide compassionate care. Such feedback points to a clinic that prioritizes patient well-being and clear communication, fostering a sense of trust and relief for pet owners during stressful times.

However, another review describes a less positive experience regarding a Golden Retriever brought in for sickness, where the client was told to "come right in" but then left waiting for ten minutes without acknowledgment when needing help carrying their dog. This particular incident suggests that while the intention might be to accommodate urgent cases, there can be lapses in immediate responsiveness or coordination, potentially leading to frustration for clients in distress. Despite this, the overall impression the hospital strives to convey is one of a friendly, professional, and compassionate setting that treats every animal "as if it was our own," as stated on their website. The facility is designed to accommodate both small and large animals, implying separate or distinct areas to manage different species effectively and ensure comfort.

Maury County Veterinary Hospital offers a full spectrum of veterinary services, making it a comprehensive healthcare provider for diverse animal populations. These services include:

  • Routine Care: Emphasizing preventative medicine, they provide wellness exams for both cats and dogs to prevent disease and catch health issues early.

  • Preventive Care: This includes essential vaccinations and parasite prevention strategies to promote longevity and health for companion animals.

  • Dental Care: Comprehensive dental cleanings and exams are offered to protect and preserve the oral health of dogs and cats.

  • Surgical Care: The hospital performs both elective procedures (like spaying and neutering) and urgent surgical interventions to restore animal health.

  • Diagnostics & Lab: Supported by an in-house veterinary lab with advanced diagnostic tests, tools, and technologies, ensuring quick and accurate results. They also likely utilize external lab services for more specialized tests when needed.

  • Canine Breeding Services: Offering specialized support for dog reproductive health, including artificial insemination, ovulation timing, pregnancy support, and C-sections.

  • Equine Vet Care: Dedicated services for horses, ranging from dentistry to wellness checks and internal medicine, highlighting their expertise in large animal care.

  • Farm Animal Services: Expertise in herd health management, breeding consultations, and other services to help farm animals remain healthy and productive.

  • Emergency Pet Care: While operating during business hours, they are equipped to handle urgent care needs for pets, guiding owners on how to proceed in emergency situations. The review mentioning being told to "come right in" for a sick Golden Retriever suggests a responsiveness to pressing cases.

The features that distinguish Maury County Veterinary Hospital include its comprehensive service offering for both small and large animals, which is not common for all "Pet Hospitals" and makes it a valuable resource for the mixed agricultural and pet-owning community in and around Columbia. The clinic's commitment to being open six days a week, including Saturdays, provides enhanced accessibility for pet owners with busy schedules. The positive feedback highlights a strong team, including Dr. Gilliam, who are described as "thorough and competent," indicating a high level of medical proficiency. Their commitment to "life-long learning" and "practicing our profession with excellence and compassion" underlines their professional ethos. The hospital also emphasizes client education, providing "Tips & Advice From Maury County Veterinary Hospital Team" through their blog, offering insights on topics like parasite protection and common pet illnesses. This proactive approach to educating pet owners demonstrates a commitment to partnership in pet health. They also welcome new patients and offer online booking for convenience, streamlining the initial visit process.

From a promotional standpoint, Maury County Veterinary Hospital actively promotes its broad range of services, emphasizing its ability to care for "all animals large and small." They highlight their extended hours, including Saturday availability, as a key convenience. Client testimonials, particularly those praising the compassionate and life-saving care provided by their veterinarians (like Dr. Gilliam), are likely central to their marketing efforts, showcasing their dedication to patient well-being. They position themselves as a trusted, long-term partner in animal health, capable of handling everything from routine wellness to urgent care and specialized large animal services. The phrase "New Patients Always Welcome!" is a consistent promotional message, inviting new members of the community to experience their care. Their online presence, including their website, is used to provide detailed information about services, introduce their veterinary team, and offer educational resources, reinforcing their commitment to client knowledge and informed decision-making. The hospital's long-standing presence in Columbia further solidifies its reputation as a reliable and established veterinary care provider.

Had to bring my Golden Retriever in for sickness. They said to come right in, and when I got there, I asked if I could get some help carrying him in. They told me to drive around the side. I sat there for 10 minutes and no one even acknowledged us. I left and went down the road

They were wonderful! Staff was great with my fur babies and took time to explain what was going on and answered all my questions. If I didnt understand something the vet didnt act like it was a waste of time to re-explain.

Excellent care , super friendly staff no matter how busy . Vets , Vet techs , front desk, office manager are 5 star + . I've seen Vets in cases of emergency, a pet having a grandmal seizure, regular visits , teeth cleaning & removals , blood work , nail trim , these people are so much more than "just a Vet" I'm so fortunate to be their client, thank you Maury County Vet Clinic!!!
