Dr Maro is a great vet for basic veterinary needs such as vaccinations, illness, injuries, pain management such as chiropractic & acupuncture, etc… however I don’t feel he has the staffing, space, or means to perform surgeries. I appreciate his evening hours but when it comes to spading & neutering or any other type of surgery I will take my pets to a different facility. Overall he’s a great Dr and we will continue to take our pets to him for their routine veterinary needs. Thanks Dr. Maro!

Welcome to Maro Veterinary Service - Robert Maro DVM
Maro Veterinary Service, under the care of Dr. Robert Maro DVM, is a veterinary establishment located at 4623 McCartney Rd, Lowellville, OH 44436, USA. Operating within the "Pet Hospital" category, this clinic serves the local community by providing a variety of veterinary services for both companion animals and, based on some historical accounts, potentially large animals, although recent reviews primarily focus on smaller pets. For inquiries or to schedule an appointment, individuals can reach Maro Veterinary Service at (330) 536-6595 or via mobile at +1 330-536-6595.
The **environment** at Maro Veterinary Service can be inferred from client feedback, which suggests a focus on the practical delivery of veterinary care. While explicit descriptions of the waiting area or specific interior design elements are not readily available, the clinic's operational model, including "evening hours" mentioned in a review, indicates a dedication to client convenience. It's implied that the facility is geared towards efficient examinations and treatments for common ailments. However, one review explicitly notes concerns regarding "staffing, space, or means to perform surgeries," suggesting that while functional for many procedures, it might be perceived by some clients as having limitations for more complex surgical interventions compared to larger, more specialized surgical centers. The overall impression is one of a practical, working veterinary clinic that prioritizes accessibility for routine care.
The **services** offered by Dr. Robert Maro DVM at Maro Veterinary Service encompass a range of essential veterinary care, as highlighted by client testimonials. These typically include:
- **Basic Veterinary Needs:** This forms the core of their practice, covering routine aspects such as vaccinations (crucial for preventative health against common diseases), and general health check-ups.
- **Illness and Injury Treatment:** The clinic handles cases of sick pets and manages various injuries, providing diagnoses and treatment plans to help animals recover.
- **Pain Management:** A notable service offered is pain management, including alternative therapies such as chiropractic care and acupuncture. These options provide additional avenues for addressing chronic pain or post-injury discomfort, demonstrating a broader approach to animal wellness beyond conventional medicine.
- **General Consultations:** Dr. Maro engages in discussions regarding pet health, as evidenced by a client remembering his past treatment of a donkey, although this historical anecdote also brings forth concerns.
While the clinic appears capable of handling many day-to-day veterinary needs, the provided reviews indicate that some clients prefer to seek out different facilities for surgical procedures like spaying and neutering, suggesting that advanced or complex surgeries might not be a primary focus or fully equipped service at this location. It's important for pet owners to clarify the scope of surgical services if that is a critical need.
Several **features** of Maro Veterinary Service, under the leadership of Dr. Robert Maro DVM, are highlighted by client feedback, offering a nuanced view of the practice:
- **Competence in Basic & Alternative Care:** Dr. Maro is recognized as a "great vet for basic veterinary needs" including vaccinations, illness, injuries, and pain management. The specific mention of chiropractic and acupuncture demonstrates a willingness to incorporate complementary therapies, which is a desirable feature for owners seeking holistic or less conventional treatments.
- **Accessibility with Evening Hours:** The provision of "evening hours" is a significant advantage, offering flexibility for pet owners with busy daytime schedules, making routine care more convenient and accessible.
- **Long-Standing Presence and Recognition:** The fact that a client "remembered him from years" ago suggests a long-standing practice with a history in the community, potentially building trust and familiarity among generations of pet owners.
- **Mixed Client Experiences Regarding Empathy and Surgical Capabilities:** The reviews present a contrasting picture concerning empathy and surgical services. While one client praises Dr. Maro for routine needs, another review from years ago expresses significant concerns about lack of empathy, rough handling, and inadequate post-operative care (e.g., leaving amputated testicles, perceived insufficient pain relief for a donkey after neutering). This stark difference in perspective is a critical feature for potential clients to consider and understand. The comment about not having the "staffing, space, or means to perform surgeries" by one client also points to a potential limitation in infrastructure or team capacity for complex procedures.
- **Emphasis on Routine Care:** Despite the mixed feedback on more complex or sensitive procedures, the prevailing sentiment for many clients is that Dr. Maro is highly suitable for "routine veterinary needs," implying reliability for preventative care and common ailments.
**Promotional information** for Maro Veterinary Service - Robert Maro DVM would likely focus on the strengths highlighted by the more positive reviews, while acknowledging the need for transparent communication regarding services. Key messages might include:
- "Your Partner for Routine Pet Health & Wellness in Lowellville, OH": Emphasizing their competence in everyday veterinary needs.
- "Comprehensive Care Including Innovative Pain Management Solutions": Highlighting their unique offerings like chiropractic and acupuncture.
- "Convenient Evening Hours to Fit Your Busy Schedule": Promoting their accessibility and client-friendly hours.
A promotional strategy would likely feature testimonials that speak to Dr. Maro's effectiveness in managing common conditions and his availability. It might emphasize the long-term relationships built with clients who trust him for their pets' ongoing basic health. Given the critical feedback, any promotional material should be carefully worded to manage expectations regarding surgical capabilities and perhaps reiterate a commitment to animal well-being and client communication. The clinic could also utilize its online presence to clearly outline the full scope of its surgical services, or refer clients to specialized surgical centers if complex procedures are beyond their current capacity or preference. This transparent approach would help clients make informed decisions and align expectations with the services provided, ensuring that pet owners understand where to best seek care for all their animal's needs.

Mar 25, 2025 · Jennifer HendersonMy wife remembered him from years and cried when she remembered how he treated her donkey. He neutered the donkey and when my wife came home DR Maro was just getting finished. The donkey was semi-conscoius and moaning and groaning in obvious pain as he lay on his side on the floor of the stall. The amputated and bloody testicles were laying in the middle of the stall on the floor. My wife was like can't you give him some more pain reliever?? And Dr Maro was like "no he is fine". Then Dr Maro just left! My wife looked and Dr Maro left the bloody testicals on the floor!! Obviously this made my wife even more distraught. My mom's horse never liked Dr Maro and would run away from him but she would not run away like that with the other vets. My mom and other people always said Maro was very rough handed and not empathetic to the pain of the animal and the concerns of the customer. I hope he has changed but when I look at the reviews im not so sure. I forgive him for how he treated my family's animals but I would caution other customers to watch out for him and make sure he treats your animal right.
Jan 05, 2025 · DeanDr Maro is the most compassionate and caring Dr I have ever met he helped us with a stray cat that I brought in on Christmas Eve and took the time to help us unfortunately the cat was injured and passed away. Dr Maro tried his best but it was too late he tried his best 😔 Outstanding Doctor
Dec 29, 2024 · Kathleen DepizzoHe saved my family's life not just my dog. He is a bonafide FARM vet❤️ he knows the quality of life he didnt have to go to college to learn how to make a buck off folks. Everybody wanted to charge me 5 grand. My dog is a fighter tho and she held on for this angel of a man to do his job❤️ not only are his nurses beyond helpful and great with putting up with me while my dog was literally dying and talking me through it as .well. He is a angel for animals and he can never repay him for taking time out of his extremely busy schedule to save my girls life. Nobody wanted to do the surgery but Dr. Maro took the challenge on. Do t listen to the reviews about what other ppl say.... Infection happens after surgery so don't be a dirtball and make sure to clean your home ur dog won't die from a infection. Common sense. He is a miracle to animals I strongly suggest Dr. Maro
