The vet at this place has no clue how to treat an animal. I took my Jazzy there only for him to tell me he had no clue what was wrong with him his Tech also said the same thing they've seen cats for many years with the same problem and never diagnose them. Imagine that. I only got excuses as to why an x-ray wouldn't show anything or blood test wasn't shown anything which they would have. I was told to take Jazzy home and just leave him die. Needless to say I found out what was wrong with my Jazzy and I will not go back to this vet ever again. He needs to go back to school because he didn't learn anything the first time

Welcome to Markle Jr
Markle Jr is a veterinary care provider situated at 308 Porter Ave, Scottdale, PA 15683, USA. This establishment offers veterinary services to the local community, and they can be contacted at (724) 887-6820 or via mobile at +1 724-887-6820 for appointments and inquiries.
Operating under the platform category of "Pet Hospital," Markle Jr is expected to provide a range of veterinary services and goods. The classification "Pet Hospital" typically implies a facility equipped to offer comprehensive medical, surgical, and diagnostic care for various companion animals, predominantly dogs and cats, reflecting a broad scope of animal healthcare provisions.
- Staff Interaction: One review positively notes, "Staff is friendly," which indicates a welcoming front-of-house experience for some clients. However, another review describes negative interactions, implying that not all experiences with the technical staff or initial assessments are perceived as professional or helpful.
- Clinical Efficiency (Implied): The fact that they are a functioning veterinary practice suggests they have standard examination rooms and areas for pet care. However, the highly critical review about diagnostic capabilities points to potential concerns about the efficacy of their clinical assessment process, impacting the perceived environment of care.
The stark difference in experiences suggests that while some clients find the environment and staff to be friendly and accommodating, others have encountered significant issues regarding the professional competence and diagnostic thoroughness, which can severely impact the perceived quality of the care environment.
- Preventive Care: This is a foundational aspect of veterinary medicine, typically including routine wellness examinations, vaccinations tailored to the pet's needs, and parasite prevention (fleas, ticks, heartworm). The positive review mentioning "check-ups, shots" confirms the provision of these basic preventive services.
- Diagnostic Services: To accurately identify health issues, pet hospitals commonly offer diagnostic tools such as blood tests, urinalysis, and potentially imaging (like X-rays or ultrasound). However, the negative review specifically highlights a severe concern in this area, stating, "I only got excuses as to why an x-ray wouldn't show anything or blood test wasn't shown anything which they would have." This indicates a perceived deficiency in their diagnostic approach or explanation of diagnostic limitations, which is a critical aspect of modern veterinary care.
- Medical Treatment: Treatment for a range of common illnesses and conditions. The negative review regarding the inability to diagnose a pet's illness directly relates to the effectiveness of medical treatment.
- General Veterinary Consultations: Providing advice and guidance on pet health, nutrition, and behavior.
The contrasting reviews point to an inconsistency in service perception. While routine services like check-ups and shots appear to be competently handled for some clients, the ability to diagnose complex or non-obvious conditions, and the transparency in explaining diagnostic limitations, seem to be areas of significant concern for others. The severe claim that the vet "has no clue how to treat an animal" and was told to "take Jazzy home and just leave him die" highlights a potential gap in their diagnostic capabilities or willingness to pursue further investigations, a critical aspect of comprehensive pet hospital care.
- Veterinary Professional Present: The practice is named "Markle Jr," and one review explicitly mentions "Dr. Markle," indicating the presence of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine leading the practice.
- Routine Care Provision: For clients seeking standard services like vaccinations and annual check-ups, the practice appears to fulfill these needs adequately, as evidenced by the positive review stating, "I always take my cats here for check-ups, shots or any other issue."
- Concerns Regarding Diagnostic Acumen: A major feature highlighted by a negative review is a perceived lack of diagnostic skill and willingness to explore further options for complex cases. The statement, "The vet at this place has no clue how to treat an animal. I took my Jazzy there only for him to tell me he had no clue what was wrong with him," is a severe criticism of a core function of a veterinary professional. The refusal to pursue further diagnostics (X-rays, blood tests) despite their potential utility is also a significant concern.
- Staff Demeanor: There's a contradictory view on staff friendliness. One review praises the staff as "friendly," while another recounts a distressing experience involving a lack of clear diagnosis from both the vet and technician, potentially implying a less-than-supportive interaction during a critical time.
- Contrasting Client Experiences: The most prominent feature is the vast disparity in client satisfaction. While one client expresses loyalty and satisfaction with Dr. Markle for routine care, another expresses profound dissatisfaction, citing a critical failure in diagnosis and a dismissive attitude towards a seriously ill pet. This suggests an inconsistent service quality or a practice that may be more suited for routine, straightforward cases rather than complex diagnostic challenges.
The critical review implies a significant gap in what a comprehensive "Pet Hospital" should offer, particularly in terms of advanced diagnostic capabilities and the fundamental duty to help rather than dismiss a sick animal. The resolution of the sick pet's condition elsewhere, as mentioned by the frustrated client, further underscores these concerns.
In a standard scenario, promotional aspects might include:
- Client Testimonials: Highlighting positive experiences, as seen with the review praising Dr. Markle and the friendly staff for routine care.
- Emphasis on Preventive Care: Promoting the importance of regular check-ups and vaccinations.
- Service Specializations: If the practice has specific areas of expertise (e.g., dental care, senior pet care).
However, it is crucial to note that the very negative review, stating "I will not go back to this vet ever again" and that the vet "needs to go back to school," serves as a significant counterpoint to any potential positive promotional messaging. This feedback indicates a substantial deficiency in diagnostic capabilities and patient management from the perspective of at least one client, which would make any general promotion of comprehensive care challenging without direct rebuttal or clear evidence of improvement.
For potential clients, it is recommended to directly contact Markle Jr at (724) 887-6820 or +1 724-887-6820 to inquire about their services, policies, and approach to complex cases, and to assess whether their offerings align with individual pet care needs and expectations, especially considering the varied customer experiences.
